I love Cecille When I was younger she was one of my favorite sesame street characters. I rembered her we got the new sesame street dvd set 40 Years of Sunny Days and it brings back great memories.
Does anyone know where I can find the episode where the french guy is sensitive about the word nose cause he has a big nose that he use as a sword? On another note love this!! I miss the old sesame street and all the other things I grew up with. All the kid shows are crap now, they are weird and to put it plainly very fucked up for kids to watch
If my half-way decent voice and I ever make it to the top 10 of American Idol I swear I'll sing this song on live TV...not that it will ever happen but I'll keep the hope alive...
I miss being 5 too! Life was easier then (I'm 25 now). "Cecile" was my favorite segment on "Sesame Street." I loved the music, and the colors! I still really enjoy it, all these years later! Thanks for bringing back happy memories. ;)
Man watching this reminds me of the production quality the show used to have that I feel it be very sorely lacking these days. Makes me feel like a kid again. Thanks for posting.
Holy heck, I can't believe I found this. Every now and then through the years the lyrics "I'm gonna get to you, na na na na naa" would float through my head. This song has been haunting my head to find it, but I never could and now I have! I might have known it was sesame street, but seriously I would have to say this is the earliest thing I remember from my childhood. Sesame Street, you rock.
I agree. Elmo has taken over. Kids these days don't even know who Bert and Ernie are. Why do people want their kids to watch and learn from a character who speaks in the third person?
@EPiCPlaYLisT123 The only show Elmo now. They used to have alot of celebrety <----(Is that written right? Sorry, english is not my official language.) guests and all the muppets appeared singing and dancing along with them, it was fun. My favorites are Oscar and Snuffy, but they don't even show them anymore. :'(
The song was sexy to me even when I was little, but Cecile was just weird. Not now, though; today I clearly see her as the sexiest orange rubber ball in the universe.
Love it when she gets her lips right in your face at 1:02 and 1:42, and her turning into a big, jiggly heart near the beginning.
hmmm..after watching this again after so many years...i see the other side ot it...when ur in love and would do anything to get to that special someone...swim the ocean or break through ice..drive a long time or stand a long time to get the bus..hmmm

It's so creepy. I remember when it was first aired in the UK I wondered if it was supposed to be mock threatening or actually threatening. Either way the disembodied thing is creepy as Hell.
@Londonman84 I believe it's supposed be a way of bringing one's lust to somebody, aside from the fact that she said "I'm gonna bring my love to you!" so therefore, it's not really threatening at all. Whether it's creepy or not, it depends on your perspective.
For some reason, the small ones were fine but Cecille scared me every time she came up to the screen quickly, like at 1:02. All I'd remember was this mouth on a ball, with no other facial feature or limb – and that for some reason was eerie at age 3 or 4. I loved when she sang or morphed into any other object, just not when she was in her "true form" and telling me "I'm gonna get to you".
Did this haunt anyone else's nightmares? I had dreams about giant mouths eating me in my sleep up to, like, the age of 10 thanks to Cecille (and the "The Word is No" song, of course.)
Girl... Im 20 too. And everytime they play this on sesame street I sing and dance along... And yes I still watch sesame street... Im not ashamed of it... LOL
@CinnamonTwist88 I know how you feel. I was definitely excited to hear this one again. And of course the song in the beginning before she starts singing. Aaahhh, the good old days - this is when TV had value.
Manig132: Yes, this song is amazing, if only Sesame Street was still this good! SS was just amazing back in the day, but now, Elmo's taken it at gunpoint, and insists on retarded songs that would make an 8-year-old blush with embarrassment :( SS is dead, but at least we have these videos so it's legacy can live on!
as a matter of fact that song does remind me of How Now Brown and the Moo Wave quite a bit because it rocks man, but I was thinking of a great original video you can make, why not have the oinker sisters how now brown and the moo wave and little chrissy and the alphabeats perform Rocky Horror Pictures Show's Time Warp together, it should be great at it should rock so why not give it a shot man.
I don't think it's threatening at all. I think it's got a lot to do with love, romance, sexiness, and spice. It's even got that Ricky Martin feel to it. Besides, I think teens can relate to this song better than little kids can.
