This is a BOB MACK PRODUCTION featuring James King. The song was recorded in Los Angeles with all instrumentation by Bob Mack except for the Sax part by Johnny O of the Classic Dogs Of Love. All background by James King and Bob Mack. Having been a member of the original FUTURES, I actually wrote the song for Kenny Crew of the Futures, He was our first tenor, But Kenny died, and I went to present the song to James, He loved it. We then pooled our money to get it done. I was not given any credit.
fuck all that shit, Neil McKenzie Johnsons Dunfermline had us all bouncing when this first came out ... and sold ten copies straight from the dj box via a mike call, and I got one ..dunno where it is now tho
LOL...sorry Tonio!!...hope you didn't look for it?...something wrong with the track where it repeated itself in a certain part of the song for some reason??... this is one Fab Tune matey!!...great share...xx
Wow, this song has been haunting me for over 10 years it was on a DJ compilation that someone gave me and I didn't know who it was bye or it's proper title, I only knew it was good and I loved it.
Beautiful track - thanks for the - ahem - memory :) Remember this from Steve Hobbs on Solar 93 back in 87 in London. Thanks so much for uploading this. Had it on a Soul compilation 4 cd box, lent it to someone who kindly never returned it and then disappeared off the radar...
Richard Sealingsaid that he so wished he could have played this at the Pier in 86 , but it came too late that year - pity , but it remains an absolute gem
..this is a the real deal. saw it live at Morecambe back in the day. respect to the promoter Shaun Gibbons for taking care of business. Pier to the Calton were MASSIVE!
Totally agree with you!! Shaun was a good friend of mine and totally dedicated himself to getting morecambe up and running after wigan closed and BOY!! he did it so well, Mark farley played a part in it too. Got to give it to the guys for making the pier so successful, im going to the Carlton on the 23rd May my first nighter for over 25yrs!! Cant wait to see all my geriatrics friends (myself included!!) haha from Lancaster and Morecambe, its going to be a blast!!
still remains one of the most underrated venues : which brought a divided scene back together : who can ever forget those 2nd and 3rd anniversaries: some one said that the 1986 anniversary was reaching 2500 soul people in attendance
came too late for the Morecambe all-nighters -pity as this would have been the crowning glory at Morecambe Pier. Can you imagine the reaction if it had been played there !!! Richard had this on that demo tape for ages . Remember coming back from Manchester that Saturday night in Oct 1986 to hear this on my taped session from Soul Sauce - it staggered me beyond believe !! Sheer class
Wow I was wondering what James was up to. Last I heard he was a blackjack dealer in AC. Anyone know where his brother John is?
Thanks B Mack
