I`m playing with you`re little brain like a man would to a little angry puppy. You are trying to "bite", but I`m just laughing. I would not even go outside my house if I were as dumb as you... you little Ninja- man! Hehehe!

  • @VSL123 Still keeps it up? You are so dumb its difficult for me to go down to your level.

You should put on your ninja costume and go play in the garden. Act like you can jump over cars on the freeway. I`m sure you can do it. Go ahead.

  • @VSL123 So you like old women?

Hey people! I have my own puppy :) He is called VSL123 and I`m playing with his little brain.

Most people on Qi videos graciously admit when they are mistaken as opposed to resorting to childish name calling.

In the future please try to adhere to this protocol. There are plenty of other videos on this site where you can be petulant and rude.

    Thatnk you,

The Qi viewing community of youtube.

  • @VSL123

Nope, just aware of the fact that the viewers of this show would rather learn from the comments than wade through the effluent of your pissing contest.

And you're both right, by the way: Lee films were both sped up and slowed down for effect.

  • Comment removed

  • @VSL123 I knew the Lee vs. Ali question would bring about some idiotic comment war. Morons.

  • @VSL123 Considering how condescending you were to lesterclaypools (despite lester being completely right), your comment is hilarious. Ah, hypocrisy.

  • @VSL123 You're in my face and edgy as hell. You're a hypocrite and you don't care! Look at those insults roll off your back. I am sorry I ever crossed you! Ouch!

You're an idiot. Get lost and stop commenting on these videos. Your efforts to make it seem like you don't care simply make it all the more obvious you do care.

  • @VSL123

    Yes you will.

Pretending you have a high I.Q must be fun.

  • @Norwegian733

VSL123 doesn't need to prove his IQ or knowledge after all he watches QI and other 'high brow' BBC TV shows so he can allow himself to feel smart. Don't burst his little bubble or he'll cry all the way to Marks and Spencers.

  • @Cybopath lol :-)

  • I may be wrong but I've always heard that while most martial artist's videos were sped up, Bruce Lee's actually had to be slowed down to be able to see him throw the punches... I'd be disappointed if that wasn't true, and Fry's rarely wrong =/

  • @HollywoodMcCoy No, you're right. Bruce Lee's attacks were so quick that he actually had to slow down. Moreover, Bruce Lee trained as a martial artist for most of his life and could eliminate the issue of weight and height disadvantage with speed and technique - Ali is a boxer through and through. Also, Fry is highly mistaken about the frequency of the kicks - anyone doing taekwondo would know this. But we have to forgive him - it's the QI researches who are wrong. Fry is merely the voice.

  • @VSL123 Thank you for confirming that. Ali was an incredible boxer, but Lee was just so much more. A legend for sure. That's true about Fry just being the voice, but I constantly forget it; he has so much knowledge about so many things, sometimes it doesn't even occur to me that all of it isn't just coming from him.

  • @VSL123 Let's look at it from a phyiscs point of view. Momentum (p) = Mass (m) x Velocity (v). A kick from Lee has his the mass of his leg (from about the thigh down) times the velocity, lets say 5 metres a second which is generous. The momentum of Lee's kick would be about 20 pounds (approximately 10 kilograms) this would mean the momentum of his leg is 50kg.m.s^-1.. Ali's punch is about 25 metres per second.. the mass is enitre upper body + his arm, which would equal 25 times 70 kilograms

  • @HorgsInventions Your values are speculated which renders your calculations shoddy - surely you'd agree with this. Moreover, punch momentum/power is is a culmination of the lower body upwards, but that's irrelevant (just wanted to show you were wrong). Bruce is a martial artist. He has the ability to used his fists, elbows, knees, feet and legs to hit. Ali is a pure bred boxer, meaning he would use his fists. Lee had speed which outdid cameras which caught ali's punches.

  • @VSL123 I researched my values actually, and used accurate values for weight and speed so no my calculations were not shoddy. Yes I know that punch momentum is a culmination of the lower body upwards, hence why I wrote "The mass behind the punch is the entire upper body + arm"... I am not a fan of martial arts or boxing, I think fighting for sport is primitive and perverse, so I have an unbiased view. You are clearly a martial arts fan, and I presented facts. People would listen to me.

  • @HorgsInventions Then show me where you acquired the speed of Lee's kicks and Ali's punches. In fact, assessing 'Lee's Kicks' would in itself be incorrect seen as different kicks use different muscle groups, which are the main determiner of speed and power. Your facts were incorrect, therefore listening to you would be nothing less of corruption. You don't find martial arts perverse. You find violence perverse. They two extremely different things. Think things through.

  • Youtube isn't allowing me to comment the links to the two websites so I'll message them to you. And no I find fighting as a sport perverse, which incorporates boxing and martial arts.

  • @VSL123 I take that back, when I click your channel name it just says "Channel is unavailable".. the quotes I found was a website that recorded a forward kick travelling at 4.79 m.s^-1 and a website forum that records Ali sending a full punch in 0.3 of a second

  • 0.03*

  • @VSL123 which would be 1750 kg.m.s^-1.. enough force break a skull if lee doesn't roll with the punch.. It would take Lee dozens of kicks to bring down ali, it would take ali 1 punch to break lee in two with his weight.. I don't see how Lee could have a hope in hell.

  • @HorgsInventions I apologise for taking so long to reply. A forward kick at that speed? Was it Bruce's forward kick? What about his side kicks? Or his leg sweeps? You have to take all of this into regard if you're going to bring objective proof into this.

Moreover, as I said before, Lee is a martial artist. He will go for the eyes, neck, testicles etc. in a fight to the death. He is able to use his entire body as a weapon (elbows, knees, etc.) This isn't kicks vs punches - it's Lee vs Ali.

  • @VSL123 So they he was so fast they had to slow it down?? Hilarious!! Fry is also right about the frequency. Just look at pro karate fights. You`re right Lee was an artist, and thats what he was first and foremost. Not saying he was not an extremely good fighter, but even though they never fought, experts said a guy like Chuck Norris would have won against him because he was a professional fighter (world champ), and Lee never wanted to try. And in a ring Ali would have won.

  • @VSL123 Aaaaahhahahaha! You have seen to many movies. They speeded UP to make him look even more impressive. Make no mistake- Bruce Lee is one of "boyhood heroes" and I think he was awesome. But c`moon. Dont overdo it. He was martial ARTS and had limited experience on a high level. I dont even think he met a pro in a full contact fight. Take a look at karate fights. They stand still 80% of the time and is not as intence as boxing. Low frequency. I wol`da kicked his ass :)

  • @VSL123 I was to chec you age because you sound so naive, but I was not able to go into your account.

Well, keep believing. Was he not able to kill with his eyes as well? If he looked real hard on people, they could die?

  • @VSL123 I see you`re losing the debate as you starting calling me names. Thats weakness :)

You think Ninjas could jump up on roofs and throw 5 ninja stars pr sec as well? And I guess you believe the sounds when they hit and kick are real to. I actually think you`re the kind that is standing in front of the mirror and believe you are fighting (and making dumb sound effects) and are a big hero. :) LOL! Yes, he was an artist. An actor. "had to slow down..." Hilarious!!! Hehehe!

  • Comment removed

  • @VSL123 Awww, thats so cute :) So he was not an actor? So now you actually believe all the films he made was actuall documentaries or something? hmm? Do you?

I dont fuck sheeps. Thats not natural. Didn`t you know that? Who gave you the idea that people was fucking sheeps? Your father? I guess thats where you`re comming from... You should really stop raping sheeps. Its not good for them :)

  • I'm ashamed to admit it, but I usually find Johnny Vegas annoying, but he was hilarious this episode! He was on fire!

  • "Minutes and Minutes and Minutes"

"err no more like 30 seconds"

  • Tunneling Flamingo

  • lol I love Sean Lock "I can teach my kids this!!" and starts scribbling down the joke

He'd be soooo funny to have as a dad, you could never believe a word he said

  • Sean's "frisk a porcupine" comment at the end! Most of the time he's pretty funny and rather silly, but every now and then he comes up with gold like that! he must have a strange brain to think of the world that way!

  • "My dad was a boxer"

"Oh really? Mine was an Irish Setter."

Stephen Fry how could you? I was in pain I was laughing so hard at that!

  • "They all decended from mermaids" for some reason I think this is adorable XDD it's actually very... nice to hear.

  • I love Sean's shirt.

  • Swimming and flying are completely different, it annoys me that he says that! Swimming is like lighter than air flight, but there are no animals that use lighter than air flight! If a penguin stops flapping it just floats there, if a bird stops flapping in the air it falls out of the sky!!!

  • @atomicmrpelly

I'm pretty sure both "glide" when they stop flapping.

  • @PoloniumSmoker Ok but if they both fold their wings into their bodies what happens?

  • @atomicmrpelly

They would keep going for a while. Like you said, they would stop and float in water, whereas they would fall out the sky. But the way they propel themselves through them are practically the same way. Different mediums does not mean different technique.

  • I will always love Johnny Vegas for the 'witnessed a duck' bit after all that rubbish Ayres spewed. He can be drunk or on drugs in other episodes or shows, but I'll always like and defend him for that.

  • @happyjellyfish "A tunnelling flamingo" was quite good too!

  • The Ali vs Lee thing is a load of rubbish. Boxers are awful fighters, Lee would have kicked him clean in the knees and broken both of them effortlessly.

  • @FUCKIHATECENSORSHIP Yeah It is, In the ring Ali would most likely win, due to rules. however if you get rid of the rules Lee every time. Jeet Kune Do is a street fighting art not a competetive art. on the street Lee in the ring most likely Ali.

  • Johnny Vegas:"...and then in 1654 they negitiated a deal with the octopus witch to let them..." To let them what!!!??? I can't make it out. Please help.

  • @piikkisnet "To let them also have their voices back" he is referencing the little mermaid

  • @MyBlueEyesCry Thanks :)

  • This combination of guests is genius

  • Who is that woman she's real cool? Maybe not fitting for this type of show really. But wow I get tv crush on this old woman.

She should have her own show or be in someother shows.

In Sweden we don't usually have intelligent tv like this.

  • Even though Vegas is the star of this show, Sean Lock is always, always on form. Can't remember ever seeing him on a show where he wasn't really funny...

  • "Who's going to tell Pam she probably saw a duck!"

  • I love Johnny in this episode. XD

  • I think this is the funniest ep I've seen yet ... this is a brilliant show!

  • Tunneling Flamingo!

  • Sweet Jesus, what is this woman doing on QI? So, so wrong, and yet somehow so hilarious XD

  • @Draakur I think she is great!

  • @Draakur. I think she is there for them to take the piss out of. She is a terrible panelist.

  • @Draakur Just wait for Dan Radcliffe at Halloween!

  • does anyone know where Sean locks shirt is from?

  • -My dad was a boxer...

-Was he? Mine was an irish setter!

    XD XD XD

  • 03:10 Do flies walk upside down on the ceiling when nobody is watching?

  • Get that old rambling woman back to her nursing home, did she accidently wander in to the studio!? Worst guest ever.

  • The QI team is a bit ignorant about Bruce Lee, Fry talks like all he did was kicking but there is just as much punching as kicking in Kung Fu. And anyhow Lee had encyclopedic knowledge of Martial Arts and had over 2000 books on the subject AND had studied boxing as most other Martial Arts. And another important fact is that Lee had to slow some of his movements down because they were to fast for the camera. Of course you can never know about these fictional fights but my bet would be on Lee.

  • @ornleifs In some ways I agree with you. However there was once a scientific experiment involving many martial arts, boxing etc. and boxers came out as top as having the quickest and strongest punch. Bruce lee's punch wasn't too quick for cameras but it just was too blurry. They had to shoot it in 32 frames per second.

Of course having the strongest punch doesnt neccessarily mean they will win in a fight however.

  • @candyinthebottle That may very well be true, and I'm sure Ali would likely win a boxing match, but I think the growth of professional MMA fighting has really settled the point regarding the all-in sort of fighting - you can have all the stand-up skills in the world (and you'd better have at least some), but if you can't do some sort of wrestling, you're pretty screwed. In that sense, Lee beats Ali every time.

  • @ornleifs Bruce Lee is a legend, destined for kung fu 'sainthood'

  • The largest catfish in Britain was only 66 pounds?

  • "They all descended from mermaids" XD

    Got to love Johnny

  • I love how the two videos ended!

    "Frisk a porcupine"

    "And they all go plonk"

  • I'm telling you, Johnny Vegas needs to write a book. His world is one I want to delve into. Truly one of a kind.

  • "Tunneling Flamingo"

  • "Was he? Mine was an Irish Setter!" freaking brilliant.

  • In mixed discipline matches like in K1 it is usually those who use both kicks and punches who win. Boxers are usually supreme when it comes to quickness and power in punches but they have a severe handicap if they don't use their legs or at the very least know how to defend themselves against kicks. This is only my observation though. If anyone has data on this feel free to share it.

  • @makettaja Wow,a year of kick boxing? You sound like a badass! Easily the toughest kid in the playground! :-p

  • I understand what they are saying... but, Bruce could do all of them, point power blows. In saying that, he was able to shatter knee caps with single blows. And there Is evidence of this back In the days, when he had to fight In many street fights, In order to keep his Dojo running...

  • "Tunneling Flamingo!"

  • Boxers may have the more powerful punch ( in some cases) but when ever I fight boxers they always insist on boxing rules only. As soon as they alows throughs, locks, kicks kness elbows etc, they are lost. But its the same with baseball bat vs nunchaku. everyone puts their money on the bat and though it has more potential for damage in one hit, it is also more likely to leave you open to attack if you miss where as nunchaku can be reversed back into an other attack.

  • I've never seen Sean laugh like that before

  • The part about Ali vs. Bruce Lee I think he had a bit backward. Boxing is about as much a self defense as baseball is. Actually less, as in baseball you at least have a bat. To see a comparison, check Muhammed Ali vs. Gorilla Monsoon, which showcases an incident when Ali stuck his nose into a wrestling match. Muay Thai is good, akido, jujitsu etc., they're defense arts. Boxing is just a sport.

  • Sean Lock: I've got to write this down!! Johnny Vegas has a far better performance this episode, not nearly as awkward as last time.

  • dose anyone know that part of that mermaid story is fromthe little mermaid from disney

  • Are you asking if anyone knows the rest of the story? Or are you just asking if everyone realizes they were talking about the Little Mermaid? I'm guessing that most of the audience probably are parents and have shown the movie to their kids.

  • I suspect that just about everyone does. I've never even seen the film and I recognize it. Plus, the fairy tale was written 150 years or so before the Disney film...

  • @jordan89124 I suspect that was the joke...

  • @jordan89124 Well as far as the whole thing about making a deal with the Sea Witch, thats true. That comes from "The Little Mermaid", the way that Disney tells it. I think, it's a little different in the originale story by H.C Andersen (:
