Thanks for adding the tip on setting the pickups to get that out of phase tone on your awesome demo! I own the 2005 JPP 156 & play through an Orange AD30. I set my pickups accordingly after reading your settings and can't put it down now! I was getting cranky trying to figure it out.....You rock epc!

This is about as perfect you can get on this solo-in terms of tone and accuracy. I've checked out many vids on YT and there are those that come close but this is pretty much the one! Is that your real name? Cool! Nice guitar! I want to do this song too. Thanks for the tips!
I mostly transcribe myself. I have used the standard tab books on the market to get in the general direction, but then pick it apart with my ear...little by little.
If you really want to get it note for note, then record and decrease the speed 100%... It'll be the same notes but an octave lower, and seriously there some things you hear but you never heard at normal speed... You can hear the hammerons and pulloffs perfectly!
The Jimmy Page Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar is wired differently from most if not all Gibson Les Pauls. The Pickups are actually out of phase when both volumes are close to the same setting (i.e. both are at 8 or 7 etc.). Look closely and you see I have the toggle switch in the middle position and then I am utilizing the option I just described. Rolling off of one of the volume pots in either direction allows for many different variations. I hope this gives you some clarity.
Hi.Have you ever weighed her?I have four of them in my collection(2 JPPs,1 PAGE and one signed by the Master).Mine weigh from 8.70lbs up to 9.44lbs.I'm extra curious to know how much yours weighs because one of my JPPs which is my main guitar is JPP 503 and weighs 8.80lbs
The guitar is a stock Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Jimmy Page model year 2005. The pickups are called the Jimmy Page Burstbucker Pro's. You cannot purchase those, but if you get the standard Gibson Burstbucker Pro's and have the guitar wired with Bumble Bee capacitors you will get very close.
2 questions, you said before that the guitar when is in the midle position of the pickups and they are at the same volume it is "out of phase". What does that mean? And i read that it has two push-pulls, but i don't know what they serve to
I am in the middle position...there is only one push pull pot on this guitar....but I am not utilizing it here....By having the pickups offset in volume intensity (i.e. the lead pickup at 8 and the rhythm pickup at 7 to 7.5) creates a quirky wacky out of phase tone on these guitars....and that is how I am achieving that tonality structure. I have only noticed this phenomenon on the 2005 Jimmy Page Custom Shop model
I started playing Page`s stuff in the 70`s. I never took lessons ,so it took me a bit longer 2 learn it. I still have a hard time with every note being "spot on" also your sound is very close 2 his. Do u have any Fenders? also what kinda Les paul is that? Page signature? Big bucks ,huh? When I lived in NYC you could get a "Paul" 4 like 500 bucks in the 70`s.Not any more though. Y dont u start a band ,"The Note 4 Note Band" (LOL) later ,bro and "Sweet home ,Chicago!!"
I only wish I had a bunch of those old Les Paul's from back in the day...Yes, my guitar is a 2005 JP LP Custom Shop. I have one Fender made guitar which I will be unveiling soon in other videos...Stay Tuned!!!

its about the magnets inside the pickups, they give out of phase thone if a magnet is upside down.
