Ok, I take back my comment that they sound like shit. They sound alright on roll on... Still look goofy as hell though. You make them yourself er what? Definitely unique... Nice bike otherwise though. Except for your dewy plate haha. I got a 94 883/1250 w/ drag pipes & bars, SE a/c & .537 cams 1200 size valves, 10.5:1 comp. Weights in at 480lbs and puts down 85hp/tq. For a harley thats considered sporty. I call it my snorty sporty
undeadocrows: based on my admittedly limited experience, the reliability of the newer models isn't bad. (still not as good as the Jap bikes) but don't plan on spending a lot of time on a Sportster. They vibrate like a paint can shakers.
Question: When I save enough money I plan on buying a sportster, how reliable are these bikes? Do you need to constantly keep up with them or send them to get checked in comparison to other cruisers such as the Kawasaki Vulcan? Please let me know because I've always wanted a Harley as a kid and at 18 it would be pretty sick to have.
It should be related to the sport, do not take the word "Sportster" too seriously! A normal Sportster'd never be sporty. Yes, yes, dirt track, drag racing, blah, blah, blah. I am something of shit regardless. One is a Harley-Davidson Sportster. If I have a bike to the "true will" drive fast, buy myself a Hoyakasuki. I love Harley's, they are the best machines in the world! And you can ride a Harley-Davidson quickly, no question. But she's still never "sporty".
no offense m8 but sometimes some real men cant afford a harley-davidson so they have to go with the jap.also have in mind that harley does not produce bikes with smaller engines....
well,as far as i know i cant think of a guy that owns a harley and is dissatisfied.......besides i believe that they are good for what they are meant to do....cruise.if you use a harley for racing then dont complain about the quality, because it is not supposed to race....no offense m8
happens all the time at my house! Harley told me my bike has been "abused and neglected" because some paint is chipping. I told them that happens sometimes if you take it out of the garage, haha!
That's the reason you bought it right (to ride)? All I use for transportation is my scoot. Can't stand ridin' or drivin' a car or truck. I also can't stand seeing a bike on a trailer.
Glad to hear that there are still some "bikers" out there!
Haha This is soo much fun until the ash gets blown back in your face. Freaks drivers out! Its up there on my list along side passing a car while adjusting my gloves and driving hands free. LOL

I agree! Cant stand bikes on trailers. If you are too good to ride it where youre going, you dont deserve to ride it when you get there.
