Awesome vid Ty! This video is one of the reasons I changed my vacation plans. I live in Katy, TX but working in Afghanistan. We were going to take a trip to Florida but decided that for less than half the money we can spend a week in South Padre and hit the flats! Can't wait to get home.

wow! cool! there are some real nice flats in south padre and it is a real easy trip at about 6 1/2 hrs for you ...... another option at only 4 more hours is the EMARLD COAST! since you are in the houston area you are pretty close to EMERALD COAST! top 4 beach in the world! snorkeling, gin clear flats, white sugar beach, blue water up to the beach ! stunning... just an hour past mobile al on i-10..... just another good option for cheap trip....

@tyonthefly I went to Tech School for the Marine Corps in Pensacola. Amazing place. Amazing beaches and fishing. I limited out on spanish macks in about 40 minutes off the pier one day, and on my last weekend we killed the red snapper, kings, and got a 75lb cobia. I'm moving to Houston, soon, nice knowing its not that far from P-Cola.

Awesome video! Love shallow water fishing for reds, i get after them in a 15 ft G3 with a 60/40 jet drive, needless to say i can get in the with 'em! Keep up the great videos.
