Capoeira style fighters are real entertaining and can score spectacular knock outs,but in a higher calibre league like the UFC they wouldn't have much chance unless KO their opponents in the 1.st rnd.Using all those Acrobatic flips and kicks are really hard on Cardio and of course the opponents are high quality fighters.

@jozsefkacsa Yes capoeira definitely can be useful in a fighter arsenal as a surprise ko move but as a style by itself it has flaws and demands quite a lot of stamina. Boxing, capoeira and BJJ (to go all brazilian)/wrestling can work. But capoeira requires a high degree of athleticism and can be hard to train for MMA. Still it got some interesting weapons. I'll rate it below karate but above Kungfu.

you know, i have accepted capoeira as a from of mixed martial art but not really effective! that's not how marcus won here.

@mystrol3 Well I wouldn't call it ineffective, but I would call it incomplete. Capoeira's a gambler's martial art: sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but when you can land one of those kicks, the momentum is devastating.

I like how the white guy was making fun of all the spinning in the 2nd round, but if 1 of those kicks would have landed, he would have woken up in the hospital with a broken jaw or fractured skull. Either way, good fight, props to both fighters.

@whyldephaier : As a matter of fact if you look at how much energy he is expending, if his opponent was smart he would stay out of range until such time as he could take him down and impose his will. That much movement will wear you out quickly. Your going to gas out in the "championship rounds".

nossa eu nunca tinha reparado que ele tinha mais lutas, e tipo assim, o espetáculo é que ele luta mesmo capoeira, e tem um nível bom, e ganha. Tem capoeiristas que tb ganham mas a capoeira deles(diferete da deste cara aí) desaparece no octogono.
