Fixing "BOOTMGR is missing" Error While Trying to Boot Windows Vista by Britec

i was thinking i could just take windows, and some other programs off one of my other hdds. by just using an sata adopter ... hopefully fixing the problem

Hey, I bought a brand new Seagate 1TB Serial ATA Hard Drive - 7200/32MB/SATA-6G off of tigerdirect. but when got it in and installed it; it woudn't let me put window 7(64) on it.so i shuted it down over night and came back to it and it just poped the message (missing BootMRG) and would let me start it past that on the hdd. Im so lost and i dont know what to do can you help me?

Hey I inserted my vista recovery disk which I ordered straight from Hp, cause I have a g series notebook, once I inserted it says "this pc is not supported by the System Recovery Disk you will not be able to continue to recover this system with these disks" what can I do??

Didn't work. Popped in the disk. Went straight to "Windows is loading files..." Looks like it rebooted. On the "System Recovery Option," there is nothing to select. The options they give is "load drivers" and "next." I choosed "Startup Repair." Then a pop-up saying "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically." I sent information about this problem. Details say "MissingBootManager." I followed your prompt directions. Also on 02:47 what where you going to finish.

I had to purchase the recovery cd but since I use this computer for my job, it was a small expense ($10.00) to have it working again. it came with helpful links for using it. Please help.... I had this error yesterday, I used the Samsung system recovery CD that I got with the machine in 08. I was given the option to do a basic or complete restore but not repair? I went for basic, It now boots up but then freezes out every time. I was hoping to be able to recover my files so I'm loathed to do a full system restore.

@CoccoMac You need windows CD. Put it in your dirive. When you restart your PC, press F11 asap to open boot sequence. Choose your CD rom to boot from. When booting starts, choose your language and then press "repair your computer". Then choose "startup repair". And let it repair it, restart and all should be ok...

If you don't have a disc, you can use a USB to do this. What you have to do is:

1. Get PowerISO, mount the ISO on your computer.

2. Explore the Disc file, copy and paste all the files onto your USB.

3. Boot up your computer, and click on your USB boot!

if you are running windows vista and you pop in the disk but you have no OS running then its your hard drive what you can do is download UBUNTU 10.10 from ubuntu.com and burn it to a cd or dvd i did it on a cd and it works fine once you have that done boot up your pc and once you get to the screen at 0:01 do what ever it tells you to k it should load the cd once that happens the cd should be loading since its of a cd it will take a long time but just click on try ubuntu P.M.
