  • The first 2 launches is Space Battlestation Polyus.

  • Buran stronger, better and more reliable than the American shuttle.

Snowstorm while returning to earth could maneuver in the air like a fighter, because it returned with a supply of fuel.

During the launch in case of emergencies Buran could detach from the rocket energy to save the astronauts.

The U.S. space shuttle for return to earth only one attempt, because he was returning from the engine shut off without Apas fuel.In Burana after landing remained amount of fuel in the tanks.

  • A 100 tons into low earth orbit, this is the rocket that the russians needed to go to the moon. unfortunately even today, there is no need for such a huge rocket, unless the time comes to go to mars, this rocket could be used to build a spaceship in space.

  • yes !!! most poweful and very cheap ! with the cost of a engine of the space shuttle, the buran energiya can be produced !

  • this is a powerful rocket !

  • Most powerful ever built! More potential power than Saturn V.

  • It's true there was meant to be a variant more powerful that the Saturn V, but as far as I know it was never built?

  • It was ARES. USA plan on returning to expendable launch vehicles. Space Shuttle are too expensive.

  • Ares V is going to be more powerful than Saturn V, true, but I meant a version of the Energiya launcher - my bad. The Russians had great plans for Energiya, and every so often plans are mentioned of reviving the project... but that's very unlikely :(

  • you're fool, we see the launch of polus and landing of buran, try to find out what is it.

  • @KirillKrasov happen long ago and now Buran are scrapped. Yes, Russian and US both ponders on the return of the space shuttle but it'll be very different from STS system we used to have. The new one will be small and will only carry human passengers with some light equipments. there's no cargo hold. all heavy cargo will be launch separately in the expendables.

  • @camilleri63 it's actualy built but there's no need in this now.

  • @camilleri63 yes, the C-8 was "large" version of the Saturn V (aka C-5). Very similar designs but the C-8 was to have 8 motors in the first and second stages instead of five on the Saturn V. Was intended for an alternative method of reaching the moon that wasn't used in the end, hence it was never built.
