  • Просто плакать хочется..

  • Truly inspiring! One of the best I've ever heard!

  • Existent Be Naughty dating benaughtyman.info

  • Wow, what can I say? VERY NICE. I bet you were'nt playing video games and watching tv your entire childhood like most of the kids do nowadays!!!!!!!

  • But his glasses are horrible :D

    super!

  • @MultiPLAYER1991 good grief you idiot.....were you even listening the the beauty of Isaac's play? or were you too busy critiqing his eyeglasses? he's quite old here and of course, his glasses reflect that....shame on you

  • @777jojoma chill out

  • so beautiful...you have a great talent sir...love your performance...wow...!! ..so movingly imotional...bravo, bravo...!!!

  • Muito bom gosto muito de ver senhores tocando e tocando tão bem parabens quando chegar a essa idade quero pelo estar tocando assim

  • Too fast some places such as 2:00.

  • One of the better versions that kept me glued to the screen...

  • Great interpretation. I wish that the recording equipmemt picked up the rich quality of your expensive violin better.

  • Very delicious and full bodied. From the heart. Thank you!

  • During WW2, my father was chief engineer on a liberty ship. Every night he would have this played on the ship at "lights out" and the crew loved it.

  • Beautiful. This is my fav violin piece.

  • Beautifully played! Bravo! TY.

  • I love to lay down in my bed and listen to this. I drift away from all the cares of this world. No wonder it's called Meditation.

Nigel Kennedy does a marvelous job as well

  • creo que es demasiado rubato, no me agrada, exagera demasiado en "su tiempo" y no matisa al regresar a la A.

  • wow!

  • Shtern means "rock" in German. Abram means "father of a multitude" in Hebrew. He plays this piece like the father of a multitude of rocks. Listen to Hassid (which means "riteous" in Hebrew!)

  • Stern means star. Stein means rock.

  • Actually, Stern or shtern (how it is pronounced) means "star" in German.

  • hakmirchai-Shtern,or stern as it is spelled in German means star and not rock. Stein is rock in German. Josef Hassid is the greatest violinist that ever lived. P.S.-Sorry SergioCQH-I hadn't as yet scrolled down that far,but you are obviously quite right.

  • Did you all study with Shtern? What is this? The first note is shaky and out of tune. You can listen to cartloads of fine performances on you tube.

  • marccreate - Yes, the beginning of the first note is not perfect. But that's a very small flaw (there are a couple of others, all unsurprising in a violinist his age) in a fascinating and important performance.

  • could you do it better?

  • yes!!

  • I would like hear Sarah Chang perform this tune on the violin. Nevertheless, Abrahm Shtern does a phenomenal job on his violin. Meditation barely sounds more beautiful than this performance.

  • Music played by a real violinist. Thank you.

  • I don't know much about music but this sounds like a technically very competent rendition to me. However, I just don't get the tingly feeling that Milstein's version gives me.

  • if you want to listen to a tingling version, listen to thais being played by MARINA CHICHE on the tube...

  • great! its really nice to know that people that age are still enjoying themselves with playing music. i think that if you do a little less vibratio and put more emotion in it then it will be absolutely fantastic.

  • I agree with you. I don't think it has enough emotion in it.

  • I think it has a buttload of emotion in it. Go watch it again.

  • It's beautiful...

  • A masterclass in skill and interpretation - the appalling recording quality does not do this great artist the justice he deserves, nor the interfering live audience. Musicians cannot be compared on emotions alone - art must elevate us as well as move us.

  • i think its the quality of the video but the sound is very wavy........

  • Sounds like a normal tempo for this piece to me. Perhaps you prefer it slower?

  • Marccreate, why should you listen more if he gets worse, I don't see any sense or logic in what you are saying. What do you know about vibrato. I'm pretty sure marccreate you wouldn't be able to play "twinkle twinkle little star, or handle the violin properly if given a chance,so you'd better shut up and give the old man (a break) the respect he so rightly deserve.

  • Beautiful version. Fantastic bowing. Haven't listened to them all, but he's got to be up there among the greats.

  • your version is beautiful. it's certainly the best in you tube. :D

  • It's nice, but really, better than Milstein's version? ... I don't know...

  • your right Milstein's version is better...:)

This versions one of the best I have heard

  • Very beautiful. I heard some bad versions of this on YouTube, but you're in tune and sound great!

    Nice job!

    ( ^ o ^ )

  • A bit too much vibrato for my liking...

  • bravo

  • Let's not get carried away. He's an old man who plays well, but nowhere near in class of people like Elman. His bowings are not the best, or his beat and intonation

  • his bowing's are personal as all bowing's should be, i hope your not assuming that there is one way to bow a piece like this or the "best way"

  • Only to a point are bowings personal. You watch the bowings of the best violinists and tell me if they similar or not. Upbeat and downbeats are what this piece is about. You play an upbeat with the bow going toward the frog by playing it up bow. Ah never mind

  • muy rapido va!!!

  • This always sounds so much better with just violin and piano rather than violin and orchestra. I love his playing...just wonderful.

  • hes real good!

  • beautiful... im learning this one

  • What do I know. I love the half a heart beat between the gorgeous peaks.A heart breaker.

  • Several prominent violinists have studied with Professor Shtern, among them Howard Zhang, Zino Vinnikov, and Ilya Kaler.

  • Now this is absolutely fantastic. The way he plays each note, the firmness of his bowing...he's making the violin practically weep! Thanks for the video!

  • Awesome. I can listen to this piece all day.

  • This man was my mother's violin professor-no lie. I am currently learning this piece from her.

  • then you must be lucky especially your mom having him as his teacher...i think he's awesome...!

  • His violin looks too small for him. :)

  • Outstanding and very clean...

  • ¡Extraordinary interpretation of this wonderful melody! Shtern is really a master. I love violin.

  • brilliant!!! im learning to play this...:P

  • I don't know him but he is a great master. Whith no doubt.

  • It's called mastery. A wonderful performance!

  • beautiful..

reminds of Elman's elegant but powerful playing..

  • it,s reminds of great Elman, but has own greatnes
