@gregarganda I dunno where my brother got his copy of 'Frightfest,' but he gave it to me for some reason. Some of the comics themselves look very 'Dark Horse'-esque, especially the 'Alien' parody and the 'Homer Erectus' story. Plus I love Homer's little fun sheet with the 'Connect the Dots' and what-have-ya. ^^
@MrNig1 Halloween is so unique and disturbing, I love that it tries to give you these different stories of all these random people and what their lives are like and then out of the fucking blue "oh god, no, who is that walking right up behind, AH!!!!" It's bone-chilling to get the perspective of people who have nothing to do with Michael Meyers and him just walking by and destroying their worlds. It is goooood!
@gregarganda Im Fourtteen n I Like Writing Horror Stories So I Read Others And I Have To Say When I Was 13 I Read From Hell and It Has To Be Hands Down One Of The Best If Not The Best(Ihts Up There) Graphic Novel
@benscomics I've read all of the prelude comics leading up to the Blackest Night and some of the Blackest Night. I need to get on top of finishing the Blackest Night.
@frogstompy It really was gory, remember thoguh at the end of one of the Treehouse of Horror episodes when they all lose their skin and start singing broadway tunes and Santa's little helper starts eating one of their legs and drags him off screen.
@gregarganda yeah that that was an episode. the coolest thing in fright fest is that they do a spin off of the movies ALIENS. i just bought Aliens omnibus of ebay. i hope its not too gory, i still wanna enjoy it
I own the evil dead collection!!!! I love that comic! I have tons of horror comic like Leprechaun, Halloween Nightdance, Trick r Treat, Freddy v Jason v Ash, A nightmare on elm street, chucky, texas chainsaw massacre, tales from the crypt, etc!! Yuou HAve suCh a good collection!
Holy Duece! $3.50 that seller must have really wanted to get it off his finger tips. There is a character named Dudley throughout that volume which I believe they got the idea of Marcus from. The whole half man, half machine kind of idea, an experiment of Skynet. I won't spoil any more. Yeah, I loved the idea of Dutch's brother looking for Arnie. That is great stuff.
I highly recommend the Terminator ones. They are awesome. Both volumes are excellent. I think the Marcus idea in Salvation actually came from the comics which are in these omnibus books. I would steer clear of AVP vol 2, it's just noooot good. I was really disappointed with that one. All 4 Predator books are great too.
@HolySasquatchTurd, Terminator Omnibus Vol. 1 ordered, for a great price too, found it for $3.50 plus shipping on Amazon. I'll try to take note of the possibility of Marcus Wright being derivative of the comics so I can look out for it. I love the first Predator book, Dutch's brother is one hell of a cop if you can even call him that, he's more of a commando.
You should get more of the Aliens Omnibus books. The stories get better and there are many frightening tales and awesome tales. Aliens: Labyrinth gave me the creeps. Check them out. I would also recommend the Omnibus series of Terminator, Predator, AVP vol 1 (vol 2 isn't that good but vol 1 is fantastic). Amazing stuff from Dark Horse. You won't be disappointed.
@HolySasquatchTurd, I will get the sequels to the first Alien Omnibus then, love the first but I am equally glad to hear that the sequels don't slack. I have got the first Alien versus Predator Omnibus, went ahead and bought the Alien, AVP and Predator first Volume Omnibuses. I was wondering about that Terminator Omnibus and whether I should buy it, I think I will have to take a look now. I really do love Dark Horse's stuff, they are so epic when it comes to "movie comics."
@ozzrocks88, Thanks man, you are really going to enjoy that Halloween: Nightdance, it is a great graphic novel! I will keep on bringing them as long as you keep watching them! Long live comics and movies!
@himortal7, Very good idea, there is this book I have had my eyes on called Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash which was meant to be Freddy vs. Jason 2 the movie, but was left to become a comic. I've also heard of this pulp horror comic called Hack/Slash which I am really interested in reading where this girl is tired of being a victim so she goes out hunting these different slashers which just sounds awesome.
YEA! Ive heard of Freddy vs Jason Vs Ash... I wish they did make that into a sequel to FvJ... Wow, thanks for the heads up on the Hack/Slash comic, it really does sound interesting... does she go around hunting famous movie slashers or just slashers made up for that comic?
@aktive07, Thank you sir! From what I understand Marvel Zombies vs The Army of Darkness is really a book that you can read at anytime without having to read other books. It's an alternate universe kind of story so I mean if you wanted to just read anything, that is a good book to read. As opposed to The Evil Dead book which is the very beginning of the Army of Darkness stories. Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it!
5 stars for a great review. 07:58 made me laugh pretty hard for some reason. Books arent my thing, but I still enjoy watching your reviews nontheless.
@ abcdm3, Oh I really want to, the collection of those books is just a huge thing to tackle and a bit expensive. But I need to shut up and get the first book at least and read it, I got recommended ten times over by CivilianSnowman here on YouTube to read it. Basically along the lines of "Put down what you are doing and go read this now!" So I will take heed of your recommendation and get the first volume. Thanks for the comment, always love getting them, you are awesome!
yes they are pretty expensive cause there is 10 i think in the whole thing and i know theres another one coming out in DEC so yeah lol ive read the first 4 still need to read the other ones
@Fernee1903, There are five that I know of: 1)Dead Man's Jest,
2) Hoodoo Voodoo Brouhaha
3) Fun-Filled Frightfest
4) Heebie-Jeebie Hullabaloo
5) Spine-Tingling Spooktacular
I mean those are all the Treehouse of Horror books I know of, but there could be more because there are so many collected Simpsons graphic novels. I mean the Simpsons dominated not only television, but the comic book trade as well.
I have the 'Fun-Filled Frightfest.' ^^
