  • One of the greatest of all time

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE YOU BORIS YOU ARE MY IDOL EVER!!!

  • Thanks Boris.

Your playing style helped me a lot. Also thanks for posting the video.

  • Wowowow this is an amazing stat. So out of 15 Wimbledons there were only 8 where Boris wasn't in the final.

  • Lol what's with the part where Pat Cash falls over the net and BB jumps over too

  • @ferreristic28 maybe the piercing blue eyes ?

  • awww i love Boris. his hair is soo amazing

  • the tennis was better and more fun then....

  • He was one of my idols many years before. But now ? Only famous for making Babys at strange places with different women. Still unable to speak German and some English.

  • The Best player for ever...

  • Roger is the best but boom boom becker is brilliant

  • at 17 years old, he had such a cute smile and looked so innocent

  • Boris was so unbeatable and absolutely best player in the world when he was in top-form, but sadly he had his bad days...

The only person that could beat him was himself.

  • Lendl could beat him even if he was at 110%

  • No way, just see how often Lendl lost against Becker: Wimbledon 1986 finals, US-Open 1988 finals just as 2 examples.

And in the year 1988 when Boris was at his absolute best, he won 2 Grand Slams and the Tour Finals. He gained most ranking points of all players in that year and came so very close to No. 1 in the ranking. And he got the ATP title "Player of the Year". So even though he wasn't No. 1 rank that year, he was howevery the best player in the world (let's leave out sand courts :p )

  • @JDXelara You mean 1989.

  • Head to head, Becker 10-Lendl 11. in Wimbledon, Becker 3- Lendl 0. Wimledon 86, Becker defeat him 6-4, 6-3, 7-5. Wimbledon 88, 6-4, 6-3, 6-7, 6-4. Wimbledon 89, 7-5, 6-7, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

  • lol most of the time becker was 2nd due to lendl but theyre still great players

  • Mein Lieblingsspieler aller Zeiten.

  • one of the greatest tennis players of all times.

i miss the old tennis times so much.

  • @receipt22 what's wrong with the tennis of nowadays ?

  • @pedralicamosa We are living in the greatest tennis age of all time. Tennis in the 80's and 90's was just boring.

  • @Pundit2k Yes. All courts the same speed, with no characters and no variation in playing styles. All of that with an incredible amount of chokers.

    Totally great.

  • @receipt22 and i just wish i was alive for the old tennis times :/

  • Van Gogh, Boris, a garden in my provence citizen. Bye bye

  • What year match is it where Boris tumbles over the net after Pat Cash ? Any one can help me here please ?

  • that was in 1988. the year after cash won Wimbledon. He was extremely pissed about it and that the acting of boris was disrespectful. anyways, becker won that match.

  • 1988 wimbledon quarter final

  • Looks better with a beard

  • He came over to my house today ;DD

  • The absolute best. my favorite player. the best i've ever seen!!!!

  • gustavo kuerten is better

  • Nice hair!

  • what a great video! thank you...Boris was an inspiration...every thing he did was mesmerizing...i wish he had won more titles but then he wouldn't have been the Boris we all know...and yes, Becker was much bigger in Germany than Jordan was in the US

  • Mmm Boris quiero un hijo tuyo

  • My absolute favourite. Legend, his dives, phenomenal

  • Is Daniel Craig boris becker????...or is Boris becker Daniel Craig?????....Daniel craig is fucking ugly as 007!!

  • Becker's influence on tennis in his early years was unlike any other player period in any sport. He totally changed the way the game was played within a year. If this guy was from the U.S. he would have been bigger than Michael Jordan.

  • Say it again!

  • Man, I fully agree !! He brought in power and agressiveness never seen before in tennis. Pure adrenaline and a superb technique. One of those players that are impossible to forget !!

  • It seamed that in the 1991 final he was playing against more opponents than Michael Stich. But when he was in "the zone" he was unbeatable and amazing to watch. And maybee the most charismatic player ever

  • legend. the best talent ever.

  • Becker is the most talented tennis player I've ever seen - period. He doesn't have the titles to prove it, but ask anyone who saw him play in his era. If Boris could have beaten the demons within, he might have beaten a few more players. Awesome video.

    Thanks.

  • I totally agree he was a very talented player...my favorite as I was growing up...however I think there's no doubt that everything changed when Roger Federer came along...another level of talent. You have to agree to this right?

  • I would say that Federer is another level of focus. We are all entitled to our opinions, and mine is that Boris was the best. I don't think you'll ever see another play tennis at the level he played it between the years of 17-21. Unbelievable.

  • i agree, but what/who were his demons?

  • I wish I could answer that one. Only Boris knows. It has been well documented that he was addicted to sleeping pills, which affected his performance against Edberg and Stich in two separate Wimbledon finals. What was he wrestling with? Watching him from day one, I always got the sense that Boris never played his opponent; he was battling someone else.

  • bless him...do you think he could have been any better though...if he hadn't any demons?

  • I believe he would have won at least 2 more Grand Slams. Either way, you have to consider his impact when he is way more popular than players with more titles.

  • The latter part of his career I would agree with you on the "balltling someone else" perspective...but certainly not early or mid-way through his career.

  • great vid and song

  • Fifteen wonderful years at Wimbledon for Boris Becker, 3 times the winner, 4 times the runner up,

Thank you Boris Becker, for many memories!

  • What is The Name of the song?

  • Its called 'Somewhere only we know' by a band called Keane

  • Boris !

  • Love This video! Boris Becker, Pete Sampras, and John McEnroe are my three favorite players of all time. Boris was simply one of the most entertaining and talented players to ever step onto a court. By the way, the voice you hear at 01:18 is John McEnroe. If you have anymore matches of Becker, can you post them?

  • i just regret he did not win one more wimbledon in 1990 or 1991: he lost first to Edberg and later admitted to have taken sleeping pills on the eve of the final which him slow at the start. Then ,against Stich, he was a little too passive and lost 2 tiebreaks that cost him the match.

Finally, it's a shame he did not win any single tournament on clay.He was an all-round player and should 've done it.

  • No one could have beaten Michael STich in the 1991 final at wimbledon. Even Roger Federer would have lost the way he played that day.
