Hello Dunhillsky2... I have wrote poetry all my life and recently have turned my hand to song lyrics. I have a friend who is a musician and my first attempt got me the thumbs up. I totally agree with you on the point of how lyrics though they give an obvious meaning also very much so can give the listener a chance to interpret their own meaning. A recent lyric I wrote talks of wisdom and regret, but no-one would know specifically what my regrets are. It's personal, but I'm not an open book.

I listen to this song everyday. I think it's about the relationship he had with Daniel. I know it was based on friendship and professionalism, but I think at one point, it was a little more. It was not so much a long term thing, but something happened temporarily. Then one decided to end it. I think we know which one. How could you love me only then to leave me?? It would explain at least in my world the reason Savage Garden is no longer. Listen to the song. It's about Daniel.

Your totally wrong, Darren and Daniel werent even friends. Darren said that himself, in his documentary. There was nothing between them at all x

I respect your argument. However, if I were in a band, and made my sexuality public, I too would say the same thing. Whether they did or didn't is not the relevence of my comment. What is so salaciously delicious is the idea that they might have had an encounter or two. The idea I am most sure of has crossed several minds, but it's all in the spirit of speculation. The song is indeed a beautiful song and it's message is cathartic,an awakening-- nonetheless.

Darren has said this song was about an ex-lover. And I really don't believe Daniel was ever that, though a lot of people would like to believe otherwise :) Darren himself has said Daniel is the "straightest" guy he knows. Daniel has gone on to marry and have a child. The words "they sent you all the way from Hollywood" says it definitely wasn't Daniel, Daniel has only ever lived in Australia.

This is the angst filled Darren I remember from Tension And The Spark. He defintely writes of what's going on his life. A Very personal song for him like "Heart Attack" when he's upset at someone.He pours himself all over our ears so easily!!

WOW! I am really moved by this video. I am a new fan after the break-up. I can actually hear myself singing his/my words. It is a sad thing when a great relationship ends. Why? Puppy also loves Darren, Savage Garden, and this song/video.

Darren, aside from being aesthetically pleasing, your voice is impeccable!! This song has the elements of reflection, regret, and retribution. This song has resonated in the very core of my spirit. First song I ever wrote on my own. Sat down with a guitar in Dublin one day and howled deep from my heart about my woes. It�s entirely literal. I was at a crossroads and sensing the end of a relationship that I didn�t want to let go of.
I put the song on the shelf for a while and I guess like some self fulfilling prophecy, a year later the relationship I was in ended abruptly and the song became the first reflection of the experience.

all i can tell you is that the song itself is about a bad breakup that darren went through. i dont know exactly why he called it "dublin Sky" though. all i know is its an amazing song, full of despair, pain, hurt, anger, betrayal, depression. its great.

I liked savage garden when i was in senior school,four years ago.Now i begain to listen to darren hayer,his song,MV...is still wonderful,when i miss darren,and daniel , I wish them,Hope they and i have a good life.

Well, actually I did some investigating after I read that comment & Googled "Darren Hayes gay?" & sure enough yes he is! He got married to his b/f in London a few months ago! Best of luck to them.....lucky guy! LOL!!! :-)
