  • The next time I want to go to Africa to kill Elephants, I'm gonna look Andy up.

  • Damn. i Doubt even in the black market, They would sale guns close to nothing like this guy is doing. Travis Bickle is getting a great deal! :D

  • God

  • Sell a guy some guns and crystal meth. Now there's a disaster waiting to happen!

  • When I first saw this, I thought Travis was going to kill this guy after he offered him the drugs,

  • Easy Andy could sell snow to the eskimos.

  • isnt that a little honey? lol what a scumbag

  • @mustbejames1

    lol.

  • Wow, this guy can get just about anything...even mescaline

  • Hmm, I've heard tons about this movie, but I've never seen it; I'll have to find it. Good scene, even though Andy lies about the "colt" and the "walther" LOL

  • I've always loved the children laughing in the background while Travis is buying a tool to blow someone's brains out with. Perfect Scorsese touch.

  • @MrMackeyMmmkay Always said the same thing ..Pure Genius

  • this guy could sell me cancer and i would buy.

  • You gotta love Easy Andy---even though short, a real confident, New Yorker type, good people skills, and great busniessman, especially when it comes to offering additional products for sale. Great scene! Travis is such a contradiction--hates the sex/smut stuff (except for the Swedish movie) but into killing w/ heavy duty weapons

  • "You'd have to be a fucking maniac to carry that thing around."

  • Comment removed

  • your a liberal.democrat @joexman go hide under a blanket.alll this shows is when you bann guns only the bad guys can get em. NO one protects my family but me...

  • I've always considered this one of the scariest films I have ever seen and this scene exemplifies why. The fact that a sociopath like Travis is able to purchase guns so easily...it reminds me of 'Bowling For Colombine' and how guns are finding their way into the hands of the wrong people. That shot where he's aiming that gun at everyone outside still scares the crap outta me.

  • @thejoexman I think this also depends on your views of Travis. It all boils down to if you view Travis as a true sociopath, or a darker hero, acting on our primal urges to lash out and destroy. Taxi Driver was so popular because each and every one of us has a little Travis inside them. It's all about how we keep him at bay. I do agree with you though, the fact that more than 75% of our nation owns a gun is outright scary. Just not in this context IMHO.

  • @casiotone1331

why do you think it is scary? they are nothing more than tools.

  • a heck of a wallop

  • steven prince is so great in this scene

  • Yea! I'll take the fucking cadillac! Ain't that a honey?

  • @SoldierUSArmy= While we're at it, lets clone Hitler, and put him back in power.

  • Oh I wish finding a dealer with that kind of a selection was easy.

  • @cbass5511 lol i know right! nowadays u would be robbed by a guy like that in 4 sec shame!

  • @SoldierUSArmy , how can your name be soldierUSARMY, and say to outlaw all guns? ur an idiot. that explains it

  • @SoldierUSArmy Trolling? Do you realise this is a black market arms dealer? They don't observe laws, and will deal in firearms or anything else despite them being outlawed. In fact, doing so would just empower the black market, as they would become the sole source for arms, just like it has made them more powerful as a result of the pathetic "war on drugs" (remember the mafia was created during prohibition).

  • this dude is a madd genius salesman. I'd buy from him.

  • cliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip

  • Nice toys.

  • I see comments that he doesn't know his guns despite serving in Vietnam. I believe aside from the M16,M14, Colt auto, M45, Soviet Weapons, and WWII era weapons, the only weapon he would have seen that he's buying would be the .38 but not in snub nose. Everything else would have to have been bought off the blackmarket but he would have never trained with the other guns he's buying.

  • " Its nickel plated snub nose." Love the hand movements as Andy describes it... He sounds like he's selling ginsu knives and like any good salesman would do as soon as Travis makes a big purchase you throw in the kitchen sink....

  • Comment removed

  • he just deals quality merchandise to the right people. now that's a good line. that's a real classic line.

  • thats some sweet hardware

  • I didn't hear about meth until the late 80's wow its older than I thought

  • @LITEBRITE65 ---they were very common dating back to 1960s. Football players used them to get "up" for games.

  • DeNiro wasn't hood. A hood nigga would have asked if any of them had bodies on them and serial numbers. lol

  • LOVE this scene..so freaking funny...."that's a beautiful gun" ..lol

  • Easy Andy is easily the greatest salesman that has ever lived! Well....if he was real that is....

  • @theQuestion626 ---Andy is one smooth MF. A lot better than the McDndalds people that ask if u want fries w/ ur sandwich, I'll say!

  • Haha. He's about to bow the guy away when he starts talking about drugs.

  • @stfunoobomghax

Meh, I assumed that Travis would've know his handguns a wee bit better, being that Travis was a Marine. I was just fuckin around about the meth, but it is great food for thought, eh? The last bit was how I would've responded to Andy's inquires/sales pitches lol. I remember the 'No more destroyers of my body" line, trust me. Ive seen this flick more times than any healthy individual should lol. For a good while I pretty much was Travis Bickle.

  • If Im not mistaken I believe I saw a Browning Hi Power or a 1911 (similar frame and cant tell from camera angle) in one of the suitcases.Either way, why the hell didnt Travis buy that too, or instead of that POS .25 auto? Also, imagine how Travis would've powered through Sport's whore house if he was on Crystal Meth.

Andy: "how about dope...? I can get you a brand new Cadillac with the pink slip for 3 grand..."

Me: an 8 of coke and 6 grams of hash. ... and what color is the caddy?

  • @thefatguy556 Travis didn't seem to be really gun savvy, he wasn't very smart in many areas which probably fueled a good deal of rage. And as for drugs, during the middle of the film he states how we would be rid of "destroyers of my body", so with that mentality he'd probably shun any and all drugs.

  • @thefatguy556 , lol, you see that guy in the end take like 7 of the .25 autos in the face, HAHAHA.!!!

  • @thefatguy556 Try putting a full sized 1911 in an arm slide. He wasn't buying the .25 as a primary gun. A .44 magnum, a .38 special, a Walther .380, and a little .25 in an arm slide are more than enough to do the damage you need to do at close range in an anti-gun town like NYC.

  • That 380 is an Astra Constable , not a walther , but I think that was an intentional mistake being as the Constable is a knock off of the Walther and Travis is buying it fom a guy who probably doesn't know much about the gun.

  • Fucking salesmen. Bought all of his shit and he's pushing drugs and cars

  • I hate to point out flaws in great films, but...

look at the rightmost pistol in Travis's case at 2:45

Then look at it at 3:00

  • @AdudenamedKemp maybe I missed it but what happened?

  • @ericspinball The barrel of the gun is pointing to the right as Andy puts the holster on the case. When the camera angle changes, the barrel is pointing the opposite direction.

  • @AdudenamedKemp oops, I was looking at the 44 and not the 380. When you said right gun I was thinking that it was the right gun when the camera is on the bed. Yes, I see that he sets the walther down with all 4 barrels facing the same direction and then its facing to the left. Gosh, where did those prices go too???

  • Look at that!!! Thats beautiful, beautiful little gun.

  • You notice how travis is aiming, with his sight eye closed? This leads me to believe he knows nothing about firearms. And alot of what happens in this film is imagined.Kinda like an american psycho.

  • @TheGatorfan93 Actually, I think his left eye is dominant.

  • @AdudenamedKemp YOU DON'T MAKE NO SENSE AND UR NOT A FUNNY UR A CAMEL TOE ASIAN DICK SUCKING FOOL ... CADILLAC IS A FANCY PIMP STYLE CAR ESPICALLY BACK IN THE 1970,S. AND NO THEY DIDN'T PUT THAT ON THE SCRIPT TO BE FUNNY !!! I RATHER DRIVE A DOPE ASS LOOKING CADILLAC THEN CAUGHT DRIVING A FUCKEN TOYOTA... SO WAKE THE FUCK UP!!

  • @canecorsomob Oh, no, not another dickhead with a stuck "caps lock" key.

  • @canecorsomob I know what a Cadillac is, thanks.

I thought is was funny how he went from offering him drugs to something as fancy as a Cadillac. I just thought that a guy like Andy (not a professional salesman for any company) wouldn't normally have a Cadillac for sale.

  • " i could sell this to some jungle bunny out in harlem" damn i wish i knew this guy i could afford that beatiful cannon

  • Were they trying to be funny when he offered him a Cadillac? 'Cause I laughed a lot at that.

  • I wonder if Travis really is an ex-marine, like he tells his boss at the taxi company? He looks like he's unfamiliar with the firearms. Perhaps his persona as a Vietnam vet is part of his psychosis?

  • @MondoBeno Yeah, that is a theory surrounding this film. Especially since Travis didn't hand the guy discharge papers, despite claiming be in the Marines. But then again, he did know about the Mohawk thing and these weapons weren't standard issue in the Marines.

  • @MondoBeno you have to think though, they weren't exactly fucking around with pistols in vietnam, you had your m16. pistols weren't heavy duty enough

  • lulz diz movie is kool cuz he has guns n guns r kool

diz movie is ment 2 show that violents is kool

  • awesome scene from an awesome movie i wud totally buy those guns if i cud

  • damn i wanna know that guy i could go for a new car and some hash!

  • That's an Astra Constable, not a ".380 Walther (PPK)"

  • @SecretService80 Is it one of the license built knockoffs? It does somewhat resemble a Walther, incidentally he says it is made to replace the P38, actually the PPK was around before the adoption of the P38 and many of the features of the PPK were built into it.

  • @schizoidboy I agree, there is a resemblance, but it might just be mindless facts to make it so he appears to know his weapons. Keep in mind that most moviegoers don't pay attention to that kind of stuff. Good thinking.

  • I love this!it is relaxing to yes!

  • that was a sexy shot of the magnum. Reminded me of something ...

  • theres a lot of jungle bunnies in NY City

  • Yeah, this scene does sort of have a relaxing feel to it.

Also, all of the guns, and the magnum holster are $915. Now, say Travis were to buy all of those guns today, it would be $3,500! Travis must work for a high paying firm, but then again I don't know how much cab drivers, particularly ones in the Big Apple get paid.

  • @CaliforniaTD From what he said earlier in the movie, I think he was pulling in a few hundred a night and even more if he does it off the meter.

  • @CaliforniaTD yea but he's not buying them from a shop. they are obviously stolen goods.

  • Free market anarchy ftw.

This salesman is a hero in my book.

  • jed york and easy andy check it out

  • dosent he have to do a backround check and wait 10 days

  • @capnhands The deal portrayed in this scene isn't exactly what I'd call......"legal".

  • @Kmannnn

Well, as Travis says earlier in the film, he works double shifts and off the meter, and pulls down pretty good money. He has virtually no expenses. You have to remember that NYC is the 70s was an absolute hell-hole. You could live in a dump like Bickle's studio for next to nothing. Gentrification and IB mega-money was a decade away. The City was broke, rent control was in effect, and there was no flipping the rentals because the fat cats wouldn't live there.

  • @capnhands Easy Andy doesn't do that kind of stuff

  • easy andy sounds like a good guy to know.

  • for a quick sec i though he was going to fire at those kids playing outside.

  • Easy Andy looks kinda like Beck.

  • The scene is designed to be relaxing. It's Travis getting exactly what he wants. Listen to Andy's tone while he's pitching his sell for the weapons. It's relaxed...easy. Compared to when he's trying to sell drugs to Travis, he's frantic, the shot cuts to his face and he looks like a fiend.

Go back to when Travis is being sold smut and pitched to buy a prostitute. It's vulgar and Travis is offended by "Sport".

It's a perfect representation of how American view sex and violence.

  • @artpiston That's why they don't call him 'High-Strung, Agitated, Jittery Andy".

  • Comment removed

  • @artpiston Excellent comment. But for the drugs, I don't think Andy's frantic fiend behavior was because he was just making a quick pitch for his other services for a future transaction while he had a buying customer on his hands. That's why he was rattling off as many options in the off-chance something piqued Travis' interest. I don't think his selling demeanor would change if he had pill bottles or baggies in his luggage instead of pistols.

  • @artpiston You're on to something there.

  • @artpiston very cool analysis. Like it :) There was somethign I liked about Easy Andy's sales pitch.

  • lmao officer1a1 i thought i was the only one who thought that about this scene..i would deff buy one off him..lol

  • HOW did martin scorsese not get nominated for best director for this?! This is not only a masterpiece of cinema, but it's scorsese's masterpiece, hands down. it just shows that the oscars are nothing, and represent pure ignorance.

  • @tokillacatchersrye This is the best coment i have ever read. I agree completely, it is my favorite movie, and without adoubt Scorsese's best movie.

  • @tokillacatchersrye yea they are more just a circle jerk for hollywood.

  • @ Officer1a1.... I too find this scene very relaxing!!! and Yes!!!!!! It is odd!!!

  • Id'nt dat a little honey'?

  • ...."You intristed' ina' auatamatic'?-..it'sa' colt 25 auatamatic'..its'a nice little gun..it'sa beautiful little gun...holds 6 shots intha' clip,1 shot inda' chamba'....at's' if ya' dumb enough ta' put a round inda' chamba'.....here...lookadis'....380 wuoffa....as far as written charichter's go ..in my opin..."Easy Andy" is one of the coolest charicters out there......'How bout' dope"?...

  • @tweetert1 I could sell this to some jungle bunny in harlem for 500 bucks!

  • @tweetert1 I could sell this to some jungle bunny in Harlem for 500 bucks, but just deal high quality goods to the right people! ha

  • ...."I icagetya' a cadillac with the pink slip fa two grand!'.......wtf?...alright well let's go look at it shit....lead the way !.......that's probably what i would end up doing....considering i'd be loaded like a freight-train ta' even be talkin' ta' easy andy!

  • Nowadays, I'd rather buy a SIG-Sauer P226R, a H&K USP .45 caliber, a Glock 17 compact, a Walther PPK, and a Tauras P38 Judge as my back-up. What? It's 2010.

  • how about that?

  • I saw a German Luger P08 and a .45 1911 in that first suitcase. Why the fuck didn't he take those?

  • You can see the recently opened World Trade Center out the window.

  • Fuck the guns! Gimme the hash and mescaline.

  • @Bigpolak57

Fuck your hash and mescaline. Give ME the guns.

  • @Dresden1065 Take 'em. Just don't shoot my ass.

  • i like the sounds the gunz make.

  • the children in the background makes it more creepy

  • Shit,I wanna buy from this guy! Amerika

    gotta love it........

    Jman

  • @Kabul81: I'd buy two Eastern European whores from this guy. :D

  • "That's a nice little gun," that's a nice little gun," that's a nice little gun."

  • 915 dollars for all of those weapons not bad. thats not the model 29 44. eastwood had that barrel looks bigger lmfao

  • Scary scene, huh? I love the sleazy little punk salesman!

  • thats a nice little gun look at that

  • easy andy looks like andy samberg

  • GREAT movie. A little nuts and you actually have to watch it.

  • easily one of the best movies ever made its wat better than the godfather

  • maybe not "way better" but it definitely has to be considered in the same class as godfather 1 and 2....classic film...classic performance

  • i'll take a brand new cadillac with a pink slip for two grand, thank you! hah.

  • I want that little hunny.

  • one hell of a salesmen !!!

  • @naboba

    I WISH I KNEW HIM.

  • @naboba This guy has everything for sale! What a great salesman, you said it!

  • Comment removed

  • one of the best movie scenes of all time. they don't make them like they used to.

  • this shit really happens movies all have sum truth sad but true

  • Easy Andy is a real hustler. Not the fake wannabes like today

  • yeah, Andy ruled.

  • Don't know if this is a coincidence but Leonardo DiCaprio had a .380 Walther in silver in The Departed which was also directed by Marty.

  • I love how the camra moves with the gun, very good movie..

  • great movie!! but whats the music being played: at 1:20 ?

  • Maybe I'm odd but I find this scene very relaxing.

  • @Officer1a1 a lotta scenes in this movie are relaxing it seems. like when he's making the slingshot thing with the drawer that scene goes on and on and you can hear honking and faint talking outside. amazing! :)

  • @Officer1a1 YES YES!! i cant explain it but YES! there is something really relaxing about this scene maybe its the way andy is selling idk.

  • @Officer1a1 me too!!! ur not odd

  • @Officer1a1

I believe it's because the scene is a seduction. Guns inherently have a vibe of safety and power about them, and the salesman (and Scorsese, and the writer) is skilled at making Travis (and the audience) feel comfortable and confident in his purchase.

  • @Officer1a1 -You're not odd-as do i....maybe it's a personality type or sumthin who da' fuuack knows.

  • @Officer1a1

the whole movie is very relaxing. we're right there with ya bud. :0

  • @Officer1a1 Its a great scene

  • how much for the grass?

  • Andy clearly doesn't know how to properly carry a gun since he calls anyone who keeps a round in the chamber dumb. That IS the proper method.

  • He meant having a round in the chamber in addition to a fully loaded magazine.

  • Having a round in the chamber IS the proper method, that way you don't have to rack the slide and waste valuable seconds. Plus, it's an extra bullet in the gun. It's how I carry my gun. Just keep the safety on and it should be fine.

  • It doesnt look like that little ass gun has a safety. Give Easy Andy the benefit of the doubt, will ya?

  • While the lack of a safety is true, the trigger is double action. So since the trigger would have to be pulled so far, carrying one in the chamber wouldn't be bad. Travis clearly does this anyway since in the scene when he uses it he just pops it out and fires without racking the slide. It's all about trigger finger discipline. I don't think I would take advice from Easy Andy either, since he thinks a .44 will go through an engine block at 100 yards. Good luck doing that Easy Andy!

  • Its a movie for christs sake

  • how many people have you killed gunslinger

  • Nobody yet.

  • badass

  • Hey man, You got to remember Andy's usual customers. They are drug dealers and pimps who FORGET THEY HAVE ROUNDS IN THE CHAMBERS. HE ISNT NO GUN SHOP DEALER!!

  • Yeah I totally understand what you are saying. The majority of Andy's customers are going to be dumbasses that shouldn't have guns, but I'm just trying to stress that the proper carry method for someone who knows what they're doing is to have a round in the chamber.

  • Oh, you're right, man. No doubt about that. I get what you are saying.

  • Nortekman:

well since you ask, the fact that "jungle bunny" is no longer part of the common lexicon means we've made progress :)

  • Jungle bunny a whore or junkie lol. That's what some called blacks back then. I am old enough to remember this movie coming out.

  • "Ain't it a little honey?"

What the hell is a jungle bunny?

  • Im gonna guess a jungle bunny is either a whore or a drug junkie

  • it's a slur for a black person

  • ohhhhhhh

  • I think it's a racial slur for a black person.

  • LMAOOOO THAT NIGGA GOT EVRYTHING. get ur money son

  • the whole point of that last part in this scene, where he offers the drugs, is to prove that despite Easy Andy selling travis the guns to enact "justice" --- Andy is not a good guy. The fact that he's selling drugs marks him a bad guy. buying guns from andy proves that Travis is dipping into the dark side (if any, a term) to attack the dark.

  • My favorite scene in the entire film. I love Easy Andy!

  • "I deal in high quality goods to the right kind of people" - ha ha, hilarious.

What exactly is "high premium resale weapon"?

    Very funny salesman garb.

  • it's a movie

  • Best scene in the film - a mini masterpiece worth watching 1000 times.

It's funny how Travis says, insulted - I don't do that stuff - when he is offered upper and downers.

  • I want that 38 snubnose.

I wish I had my own Easy Andy.

I think we'd be good friends.

  • 125 hey you get what you pay for, it's an illegal throwaway basically, fire it with a ziploc on your hand toss it in the fuckin canal.

  • dont you think a simple glove would do the trick? Also, when disposing of illegal firearms its best to dissemble it first. Toss each of the different pieces in different places. Also it would be wise to take a round file slightly smaller than the diameter of the barrel and scratch up the inside of the barrel a bit, this way if it is ever recovered and a test round is compared to a recovered round, the markings wont match

  • good job u on point wit that shit

  • hell yea good shit

  • That's a Smith & Wesson
