People who haven't tried working on a film can't relate. It's uncomparable to the other art forms. The shooting itself... It takes such a toll on you.
IMO, the most underrated asset on the film crew is the 1 AD. It takes a real motherfucker to be a good 1 AD, since it's the assistant director who does must of the shit. It's the AD who takes the bullet for the director. The directors pain purpose has to be to control the actors and get good performances out of them. Poor fucking ADs:D
This film shows that making movies is really challenging and alot of filmmakers such as myself, go through a lot of hell trying to get a fucking movie done.
@Dgamer21 Sometimes feels like a complete nightmare just to get it to the point where you're shooting the thing. Can seriously make you lose the will to do anything sometimes
Frankly, I'm amazed that in the entire history of movie-making, there hasn't been a single reported incident of a director murdering any of his cast or crew. (Although Werner Herzog did come close with Klaus Kinski.)
@TerryCraig23 Forgot all about that. David O Russell was on my mind when I made that comment as I had just watched him lose his cool with someone on set and thought he was out of his mind. But yeah that would be a better example
somehow i feel this film fails to add another frustrating scene that is most common in actual life. Usually actress/female talent or model comes with their personal chaperon such as boyfriend, mother, grandma or friends without considering the unnecessary distraction caused, or catering budget blown off to feed unwanted mouth. There also been cases were things got stolen.
always cheers me up

This film made me want to be a filmmaker.
Then, watching it again years later, it made me want to QUIT filmmaking.
I listened both times.
My favorite Buscemi movie.

12,000 odd views... Why do people watch Twilight when there are classic actors like Buscemi. Somedays I just plain hate this world we live in.

This whole opening, the takes and retakes, finishing with this were brilliant. The rest of the movie didn't stand up quite so well compared to this.

My money is on David O. Russell being the 1st. You should check the clip of him losing his mind on the set of I heart huckabees.
rutds 2 years ago 2
@rutds psh, compared to Herzog/Kinksi that's peanuts

@TheBermudaMan However Kinski came closer to killing someone from the crew than Herzog actually wounding some extras.

GosfordAbercrombie 2 years ago
I didn't know how to add it to original video. How do you make you have to be over 18 to view a video on here ?
I can't find the option
rutds 2 years ago
No I meant like where's the beeping coming from?!?!?!
and I don't know I think you just flag as inappropriate or something!!!
GosfordAbercrombie 2 years ago
The beepings from his alarm clock. Its just a dream he is having due to anxiety before he is due to go onto set.
