@2CoolForUProductions i broke my right scaphiod 3 times in the last year. always in the exactly same pplace. the next time i break doctors said thye will have to do surgey and leaf the pins in formlife :(
@2CoolForUProductions when the last time i broke it was may 15, 2011 it was a complete break, i had the cast on for about 3 months, the video i did said the cast was coming of on july 18 but it was till the second week of agust
i broke my scaphoid 3 yrs ago, the fist surgery i got a screw put in. 1yr went by and their was still pain in moving, plus lack of mobility and reduced strength. 2nd surgery i got a new screw and a bone graph. once again it didnt heal. if anybody has any advice id really appreciate it. thx
Me too..It has been a few yrs since I got my 1st surgery&bone graph..still not the same. Lack of mobility....the doctors dont seem confident in it ever returning to perfect normal.. "We can try this...and that..and this...and that, but we are lookin at a 50% chance of healing." Lucky to have my life from the accident, but I'm in the same boat as u.
i jus got screw and a bone graft on scaphoid due to fracture when i flipped a go cart, waiting to get cast on. it sucks but it hopefully will get better
My wrist is so fucked. 9 weeks of a cast, and now i got some splint bullshit on it. I skated everyday with it which probably didnt help. Lookin' for surgery in september.
i got screws too and i'm in cast right now. i forgot to ask my doctor if they'd have to take the screw out eventually tho. Anyone know anything about this?
@sirmoalot Im due to get mine done in 11 days, and ive been told it stays in unless it causes pain, or works its way out. Im nervous about the surgery.
@HotProperty83 Yeah mate, got my surgery 3 days ago. Bone graft and screw. Hurt like hell, still does. Morphine is great lol. At home now, still hurts like hell, but not as bad. Will be getting my new cast on in about 10 days.
And yeah, the surgeons told me they stay in unless it causes pain, or if it starts to work its way out. Almost every patient has them left in, as iits inside the bone and doesnt cause any pain, or movement problems. Cheers.
@xGAMES101x All good now mate, getting another cast on tomorrow. Then in 6 weeks itll come off for good hopefully! Hurts like f@ck for about week. All the dead skin peels off your hand too, and bloody stinks lol. Best of luck mate.
i fractued my scaphoid and got my cast of 2 days ago, it still hurts tho gta go bak for xrays on 16th november to determin if its healing properly, so hopefully ill avoid the surgery buts its still an option unfortunaly! its healed enuff to wear a wrist suport so i dont have to have that shity cast on ne more =]
how long did you have the cast on after surgery?
