love love love love, music like this is my life´s soundtrack. that is; only the melodic parts. not like 0.52-1.37. that´s like jazz/funk/jam. while 1.38 and so on is heart, art, gospel, soul disco house class. just disocered this tune now. knew well the m/a/w take with love break/st etienne
The grandpiano's are great as always in vintage house tracks. But what i like most are the electric organ samples like the one used here. Especially around 3'30.
@funkybuddhist --Aye Dios Mio...you spoke the truth...The piano! And, when the cymbals come in I just want to roll all over the floor and kick my sneakers off like Patti Labelle does at her concerts...lol
An outstanding track then and now, great post and to this day i get lost in every second particularly around 3:41 as it brings me back to a great time with good, good people!
yea it does sound like it. remember louie vega walked into the sound factory bar talking about how ralphi practically copied only love can break your heart. classic track none the less
I was thinking the same thing...but can you imagine all the people trying not to nod their heads to this? I may have to settle for something a bit less epic!
jesus christ...I didnt no the name of this tune and even thought it was a mix of St ettienne's 'only love can break your heart' as they are a bit similar...but this is the shit my friend and at loooong last...THANKS!!
@ISBAILEYDEADYET Im confused on the similarity of the songs.... Who made the track 1st, the MAW dub of St ettiennes sounds identical to this version...
@mu0p Hi, hope you're well. The MAW mix of St Etiennes track was released in 1991, and this track 1992, so I presume Ralphie Rosario got the 'idea' from MAW!? The two tracks were released probably only months apart, so maybe only the artists know.... My back went cold and my hairs stood up again just now when I listened to it once more. It's powerful shit, this!
I guess it also came from this truck

The big question is this... did this inspire St Etienne's Only Love Can Break Your heart"? or the other way around?

You mean the MAW 12" Remix. This was the sample they used. Both songs equally gorgeous!
