I have no words to describe how impressed I am with your maturiaty and you've demonstrated the unconditional love you have for your daughters in the decisions you've made for them and the way you speak about them.
A bit WELL DONE for managing to be so positive and make the most out of what must've been an extremely difficult process. The world needs more people like you <3
@AsofyetUntitled Thank you sweet heart! You are so precious! Do you have a facebook? You can see updated pictures of me and my girls. :-) I have lost 80 pounds since this video. ;-)
As an adopted person I want to thank you for being brave and giving your children a selfless gift of a good home. I am proud of you and your testimony.
@rehcooper Thank you very much! My girls and I and both set of parents continue to stay in contact to this day and I have wonderful loving, trustful relationships with them. :-) Thanks again!
1) Be glad that you get to see "Mia" at all considering most adoptive parents shy away from open adoption - and with good reason.
2) If the man you were with for five years was verbally abusive and all around horrid then you shouldn't have had a child with him. It's as simple as that.
I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just calling it like I see it.
What a testimony! You really shed light on the whole open adoption issue for me. I want to adopt in the future but I always thought a closed adoption would be better, but after hearing your story I see it differently. Your testimony encouraged me very much. I have a lot going on in my life, not related to children, and you story was a reminder on how God works in our life.
Keep on walking with the Lord. May he abundantly bless you and keep you strong on your journey.
I am looking for my birthparents. I was born 12/23/1984 in Rochester, NY at RGH weighing 7lbs. I was given the name Mary Theresa. My birthmother gave me a letter saying I had my maternal grandma's blue eyes (sorry they changed to brown mom), my dad's cleft, and her small ears. My bio parents were 21. My dad was in college. My mom was in college studying special ed. He was Italian and my mom was Irish, German, and French (Americans). She is 5ft 5. He is 5ft 9. She's Catholic. Please contact me!!
This is a wonderful video. I'm sure that giving up your daughters was very difficult for you, but all in all, that was the right thing to do. And because of your good choices in that matter, your kids now have a stable home. It's good that you go with open adoption because as your children grow, they will never have to wonder who their mother was or question whether you loved them. This is very inspiring and thank you very much for sharing! :)
i was adopted by my grandparents and i had alot of untold told question i had until i was 16 and im 17 now! So im Glad they know the truth! because if it wasnt for that they would of grew up asking them self what was wrong with them! SO keep that relationship with them! God bless you and your girls! :)
i am sorry but when you give up your child they are no longer your child and you are no longer their mom. you can say biological child but that is about it. yes iam adopted and i will not have the lady who gave birth to me call me their daughter and i do know who she is my mom is the one who raised me and i have and never will say my adopted mom and she has never called me her adopted child
Annd don't you think it's about time you started taking your own advice? Keep your legs closed and stop bringing out children your not willing to love... it's selfish.
@TellsHowItIs HOW DARE U SAY THAT MAYBE YOU SHOULD KEEP YOUR LEGS CLOSED AND U WOULDNT B THINKIN ABOUT ABORTION. U R TAKING AWAY LIFE. SHE IS GIVING LIFE BY GIVING HER BABIES 2 SOMEONE WHO WILL LOVE THEM. "NOW ROGER DAT"
HOW DARE YOU SAY ABORTION IS WRONG!! Such a cold cow to say that when many have had to deal with that. No one chooses abortion lightly, it's a heartbreaking decision which deserves respect! How can you try to make people feel bad who have made their decision based on the same reasons which you've given! In my opinion you of all people should not be making harsh judgements on others concerning bringing kids into the world seen as u not only made & gave away 1 of ur BABIES but TWO! Learnt nothing?
God bless you dear...me too i dont believe in abortion and feel its wrong. i am not six months preganat. I agree with you , they deserve a mommy and daddy who are married, and i am not. ive gone back and forth on this and think i am going to do an open adoption, because she deserves so much more than me and my crazy family can give her. she deseves stability, love and financial security which i cannot now give her. can you email me? i want to do a open adoption and am worried about confusing law
I'm very proud of you even though the decision you made was very diffuclt, but you're absolutely right about how they have the right to gorw up in proper families......I'm adopted myself and I thank my birthmom everyday of my life :D Beautiful Story!
Thanks for sharing that. It was good to hear a birth mothers story for a change. I'm so happy for you that your life is turning around and that God has brought restoration to your life! You have an amazing testimony that brings glory to Him and comforts others, so keep sharing!
@eSCee1979 Well I am glad it blessed you. Thanks for the encouraging words. It means allot to me. Both of my girls and their families are doing well, and My oldest like I said, her and her parents are missionaries in Africa, and she recently made me a book about herself. I cant wait to receive it! Again, Thanks so much! :-)
Yours is the first video I have watched from a birth mom's point of view. God bless you. My wife and I are in the process of looking for a birth mom for an open adoption. You give us hope that are good people out there looking for a couple like us. Thank-you.
Im getting ready to be a surrogate for a couple unable to have children. and I know they will forever be thankfull for it. You did the right thing and had your daughters best intention by giving them to familys who can give them the world..
just remember from gods arms to your arms to them stay up sista!
you are a very good mother. It takes a strong person to do that and you gave that family such a wonderful gift. your very unselfish and good for you stay strong.
@iriscartner1 Thank you, That means allot :-) I am very peaceful about my decision. :-) And both children and there adoptive family stay in contact with me and they love me. :-) This adoption story has a good outcome ;-)
The adoption for both of my girls is open , I have known M ( my oldest daughter ) and her family since she was born, I see them and M knows me as her birth mom, and K is 3 yrs old and that adoption is open as well. I chose the adoptions to be open so all is well and I see both of my girls regularly. :-)
Abortion is wrong no matter what, it is still murder. But there is hope for the mother. She can choose adoption for her baby, and she even has the choice to choose the parents she wants to raise her children. :-) She may have her adoption open or closed, it would be the mothers choice. But if she is raped the best decision would be to give that child life and give it to a family who wants and can not have children on their own. Theirs hope! :-)
I am interested in adoption through open adoption. Where can I find an agency that does open adoptions a lot? We are not religeous and will not be able to sign a religeous statement.
Good for you! You have clearly grown and matured and are moving forward on a good path. Your children are blessed to have such a selfless first mother.
I admire you because you are giving a great story and this can show lots of girls that they can do open addoption and not abort.. :) GOD BLESS YOU! you are a true inspiration! :) good luck with your fiancé!
Well, Thanks. God is so good, and he has blessed me immensely through my experience with the adoption process and the beautiful family I have placed my children with. :-) Be Blessed :-)
Wow again! I'm glad that you get to see both of the girls (tho Mia not so much since she moved). I think you are doing a great service by sharing your adoption stories. It's very inspiring! What a self-less act, in my opinion. I really respect you because tho rationally of course they deserve those things, it still can't be easy to have let them go. Bravo! And thanks again for sharing! Just out of curiosity, is K. biracial as well? Congrats on the engagement! I wish you much joy and peace!
