I think this video collage was intended to urge the viewer toward certain sentiments and not to leave them feeling like they are suddenly very very knowledgeable about economics and politics. You have to seek the opposing viewpoints yourself. I am more suspicious of those who say that they are presenting "both sides".

Sometimes having a hierarchical top-down distribution of power is essential to the work. My brother works as a programmer for our public transit system here in Winnipeg, and he's told me that a democratic self-managing workplace would be a detriment to the quality of the work that they do. Their boss is so skilled that he's actually the only one qualified to oversee and direct the work being done. Power may be illegitimate by assumption, but sometimes it can prove itself necessary.
I find the question about work or shopping a closed ended question. Why not ask what one enjoys doing in life without any limits.
