  • I remember listening to this song for the first time 5 years ago. I can really relate to almost every one of his songs. Except I never thought I was a post card or a record. :/ Oddly enough, I know what he means... happened to me too

  • I recive more pleasure listening to this song than I do during orgasm. Truly, it is sex for your ears.

  • Idk if this is the right picture for the song. I would have used something from the ground level of NYC. Maybe a shot of Bleecker St. would be more fitting. Just my 2 cents

  • It's like sex for your ears.

  • THALL.

  • solo!

  • "if I don't come back, I mean, if i get sidtracked. It's only causes I wanted to."

I dont know why but that line for some reason is so powerful to me.

  • I can't believe I'm going to get to witness this geniusness live!

  • I crave his sound every day, his music, a strange harminous balance death, art, love, beauty that makes you understand the strange things in life. The life that isn't so great , he tends to make it okay.

  • I get goosebumps

  • thank you :)

  • Why is it that every video says the singer is a different person, but they sound the same? I'm a fairly new fan of about six months, but whose voice is it that totally fucks my emotions?

  • @CharlieMemorial The singer's name is Conor Oberst. The band is called Bright Eyes.

  • @CharlieMemorial All Bright Eyes songs are sung by Conor Oberst, with some backing vocals from other members.

  • Im usually not a very perverted person but every song by Conor Oberst from all of his bands it is like he is making love to my ears and it is quite satisfactory….extremly

  • ..oh bright eyes....

  • peace

  • i love him awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww lil perfect boi :) x pixie blue x

  • i swear, bright eyes is like masturbation for my depression... it always makes me feel so low, and yet so hopeful at the same time.. i cant get enough of it.

  • @cantwbk You mean it makes you sing glory from your lowest? No, but really, I guess it's that understanding that sometimes being sad can actually be a really beautiful thing.

  • Every song breaks my heart.

  • i first listend to one of their songs when i watched the movie LOL...i fell in love with their music...the lyrics and the tune is amazing...i really enjoy listen to all of their songs

  • bright eyes is just amazing it literally couldnt get any better. the fact that conor's an alchoholic only makes the music better because half of his best songs are about like hit the switch. "theres no right way or wrong when you just have to live!"

  • nyc <33

  • Uhhhhh. Favorite Bright Eyes song. No contest. Puts a smile on my face.

  • u_u

  • i found out about Bright Eyes from.. this boy. he sings me their songs allll the time. makes me happy:D

  • @Amaroq0Zev That's cute. :o3

  • Conor you are a legend.

  • my brother would play this song to his son while he was in the hospital. he was a premature baby, and somehow the lyrics are perfect: ''you were born inside of a raindrop and i watched you falling to your death." unfortunately he did pass :(

  • god i love them and especially this song :)

  • He's inspired a lot of my lyrics acutally.

And I must say I love the "I mean!" interjection; gets me everytime.

  • i remember listening to the song years ago and feeling special because i thought not many people knew who conor obserst was.

i never realised how popular he was.

  • i've been listening to bright eyes for many years and i'm pissed i just started listening to this song this year

  • @shinesinpines No, I feel the exact same way, haha. I just discovered how great this song is very recently, and I'm a dedicated Bright Eyes follower.

  • Jason Boesel on drums. Haha. I knew there was a reason I've been listening to a lot of JB and Rilo Kiley lately. I've been exposed to his music for a longer time than I had previously thought.

  • @Swiftlygothedays Jason Boesel is one of my all time favorite drummers. And I have drummed for many many years now. He isn't flashy and his fills won't jump out and get you, but he knows how to support a song better than anyone I can name, and in this genre of music, that's what you need, it adds so much more when everyone in the group, not just the frontman, feels it

  • This wasn't the first song I heard by Bright Eyes. But this was probably the first song that made me fall in love with Bright Eyes. I was so innocent and small at that time. And so many things have changed. But this song always makes me feel that same way. I have good reason to think that I've listened to this song more than any other in this world.

  • wow. i love the lyrics.

  • fuck! i fucking love bright eyes..like,...FUCK! <3

  • @selinaland

    I agree strongly<3

  • this song reminds me of why I love Bright Eyes so much.

It's so amazing, I love the lyrics.

  • i usually dont care about the pictures/videos people post with their songs but i love the picture you posted! It fits perfectly with the song and makes the overall feeling of it just better.

  • Anyone notice how the accompanying musicians to Oberst have names that sound astoundingly similar to one another? Just a weird little thing I noticed...

  • i love the lyrics to all of his songs, but i cant quit get into his voice... It always sounds like he's crying.

  • That's what draws me to his music. The emotion in his voice is beautifully sad.

  • I second your opinion. His wavering voice sounds as if he were about to break down and cry. It's raw and unchecked emotion. I love Bright Eyes.

  • this is one of favorite albums, which is weird. it used to be my least favorite because it was too...folkish. But I got used to it.

And now this is one of my favorite songs!

I love Bright Eyes. I love Conor Oberst. I love music!

  • this is off I'm Wide Awake Its Morning. It's a really good one. You should definitely check it out.

  • I seriously can't tell whether or not that picture is wiggling back and forth slightly...

  • Every god damned bright eyes song makes me feel dead inside, or maybe extremely alive.

  • At least it makes you feel.

  • @aethon123 you're right it is hard to tell which one it is.

  • @aethon123 I agree I feel like crying or just want to dance and go for a drive haha

  • @EstherSeesStars This song is like salt to your emotions, wanna know why? Because it draws the tears outa ya no matter how hard you try to hold them back LOL that's how it got me .

  • long live conor oberst

  • there music makes me feel... happy i dont know how else to explain it

  • I love Bright Eyes!

  • absolute my favorite oberst song ever

  • this is definetly my favorite bright eyes album.

  • I really like this image with the song

  • me to

  • he is talking about greenwich village in NYC. he says he gets lost when he leaves the village, so he couldn't come to meet someone in brooklyn (another borough of NYC). if that isn't tell-tale enough, he says somewhere "new york sky line"... anyway this is a great song, from a great album. gotta love it.

  • Awesome that's what I thought :)

  • this is the album that got me into bright eyes. i remember the day i saw this album and buying it on a whim. never regretted that day.

  • Oh I KNOW! This and Noise Floor are my favorite Bright Eyes!

  • that's because they're the two best. lifted a close third

  • First album I heard as well. Buddy of mine was listening to it one day.

  • Yep :)

  • i love bright eyes.

oh and GMB because we are cool like that (:

  • :') awesome

  • Oh haha no I'm not familiar with the one in London. Great song though.

  • When he says "The Village", is he referring to Greenwich Village?

  • lol what makes you think that?

  • Well he's speaking of New York and I've heard Greenwich Village referred to just as the "The Village". Just wonderin.

  • oh is it, cool! yeah i used to live in north greenwich hehe like last year lol

  • oh i think we're talking about different Greenwichs lol i thought you were talking about the one in london haa
