I think "that one" meant "that candidate". But in if we ignore the obvious context and substitute racial paranoia, it becomes clear that McCain was attacking Obama's race during a presidential debate watched by millions, and using a secret code word to make everyone hate him because he's black.

No, but the fact is this. Obama publicly renounced his comments months ago, alright? PUBLICLY RENOUNCED. In 2000, McCain called the Vietnamese "gooks," and when an uproar ensued, how long before he renounced that word? Oh, that's right, he didn't. Then, 8 years later, he goes on television, uses racially ambiguous language ... Jesus, he COULDN'T EVEN BRING HIMSELF TO SHAKE OBAMA'S HAND!! On national television! And of course, his running mate saying Obama "isn't one of us."
