  • Oh take it easy fella. Im sure many people took it that way, but it's not always about race or color. Fact is we don't know McCain's intention for using that comment but it could have very well meant MORE than just race.

It could equally have meant "that Democrat" or "that Liberal". People should stop making everything a race issue.

  • I think you are blowing this particular moment out of proportion. Choose one of the other plentiful moments that John McCain had.

The race is over though. Just go make fun of Palin for comparing herself to Shakespeare. What a retard.

  • This is one time where he was innocent. He simply couldn't say something mean and wrong about his oppenent infront of him while using his name...watch the video and how he keeps his eeys downcast. Yes he know what he was saying was wrong, but it wasn't the "that one" part which was wrong.

  • uh for people saying that words are being put into mccain's mouth.. he actually explicitly said "I hate the gooks..." years ago.

  • Very well done

  • "that one"as opposed to "this one" "third person"as opposed to"first person".Don't you have anything real in your life to ponder?

  • I think "that one" meant "that candidate". But in if we ignore the obvious context and substitute racial paranoia, it becomes clear that McCain was attacking Obama's race during a presidential debate watched by millions, and using a secret code word to make everyone hate him because he's black.

  • Racial paranoia? Okay, let's assume that for a moment. So, John McCain is someone who cannot even show basic respect to A SITTING US SENATOR?! At best, this was a feeble attempt to tap into the ridiculously stupid "The One" attack from the summer. McCain is a joke ... at worst, a racist; at slightly-less-worst, senile; and at best, a disrespectful, ignorant glory-hound. Take your pick. But at least Obama isn't out there objectifying people and calling folks "gooks," right?

  • Yeah only his own grandmother "a typical white person".What took the sitting senator so long to disavow the racist Rev.Wright anyway?

  • As much time as it's taken Senator McCain to stop using the term "gooks" to refer to people from Vietnam. Oh, that's right, that's right, he clarified that remark, after people got pissed. No wonder his campaign is limping along.

  • I dont think mccain meant it in that way.....oh speaking of racism what about your boy obama with his his racist anti american pastor that he stood beside for 20 years ...how come you aint talking about that....or is it alright for a black man to be racist and no other color can be racist....answer my question please

  • No, but the fact is this. Obama publicly renounced his comments months ago, alright? PUBLICLY RENOUNCED. In 2000, McCain called the Vietnamese "gooks," and when an uproar ensued, how long before he renounced that word? Oh, that's right, he didn't. Then, 8 years later, he goes on television, uses racially ambiguous language ... Jesus, he COULDN'T EVEN BRING HIMSELF TO SHAKE OBAMA'S HAND!! On national television! And of course, his running mate saying Obama "isn't one of us."

  • I'm an UK citizen and i want Obama to win, but i don't think McCain maent it as an ethnical slur. I was suprised when i heard him say it in the wee hours of the mourning when i was watching it live.

The maker of this video is actualy racist to jump to such conclusion and feels that the slight inclination of refeering to someone in this way is a racial remark.

Obama will win the Presidential race and the world needs him... Change

  • i comptltely 100% agree... i couldn't have but it into better words my self...yes it was rude of him to say that, but this video is also being extremly rude to Mccain putting words into his mouth that he never said. I want Obama, but I think people need to see the other side of the story and not be so narrow minded.

  • Some of y'all might find this amusing: pandagon . net / index.php /site / that_one/

  • what song is this most importantly

  • "Clubbed to Death" by Rob Dougan. I believe it's on the first Matrix soundtrack.

  • Which part is racist? That.. or one... or the context in which he is talking about different senators? I am not clear what part is racist. Please be more informative.

  • using "that one" in a way to refer in a way as you could call a black child a "boy" but said with the right inflection/intention, an innocent term is racist. Watching the debate, it came across as a way to be racist without using "boy" or other offensive words. Why not say - that senator or that man? Ugh.

  • i have no idea what he meant by "that one"....it's weird slang.

  • I've known for months now that McCain has a dangerous temper and has very condescending thoughts towards many things.

Palin is a complete fool, a puppet whos strings could be pulled by anyone.
