this was my first year at cookman, playing against asu.

I didn't know what to expect from a swac band. I never heard one in person. All i heard were these clips online. However, sitting across the field from them is a totally different ballpark.

I came to this conclusion: ASU sounds like doodoo.

All i heard that game were btones and random ass trumpets screaming.

That fanfare that their tbones struck up...oh god...

Their tubas sounded like kazoo's

i couldn't agree with you more 20sk12. these youngings think that the louder you blow, the better you sound. Hell dynamite blowing up is loud, that don't make it sound awesome. I bet if i yell in your ear really loud you wouldn't think it was hot. but if barry white whispered in your ear some of his mellow tones, you would understand what sounds better.

This shows the different styles in the MEAC and SWAC...SWAC bands bring the volume, but they sometimes (well a lot of times) sacrifice musicality for blatty volume....MEAC bands are generally much cleaner and precise with fuller sounds but sometimes they get a little boring...SO you pick, i love them both.

But My preference is for a full clean sound that is balanced, the SWAC bands cant carry concert formation ballads like the MEAC...BCU won this with there Chrisette Michelle selection
