  • @spookyfbj8 This is good. But could you please consider uploading the original mind meld scenes please? They were my favorite out the whole movie and I have been looking for it on YouTube for so long please?

  • I love how most of the comments are the same: first I lol'd at the song choice, then I bawled at how perfectly it fit T__T

  • I'm not sure if I want to laugh or cry omfg

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

  • @ttrapt4life I'm with you! This is my favorite pick me up vid :')

  • LOL. That is all. Poor James T.

  • Whenever I have a bad day I watch this video and it makes me smile

  • THIS IS AMAZINGG! For a second, I thought I was in the weird part of Youtube, but then I realized I was in the AWESOME part of Youtube.

  • I giggled when the music came on and as it continued my laughter got so bad my eyes started to water. The clips matched in a way that was just too hilarious (don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing the slash). The vid is awesome. X3

  • This video is not logical.

  • This video- it's heartbreaking ;_;

  • PAUSE PAUSE PAUSE.. fuck that, this singer had NOTHING to do with mind melds! HOLY FRAKING ABUSE OF A VIDEO JIM!

  • ...Why?

  • Commander Data, you are a brilliant man, in ANY century ;)

  • my eyes!!! my ears!!!

  • I...want to have this on my iPod. No lie.

  • accurate.

  • yeah, genius, ruin it with music. Fail

  • At the start, I was all like, "Dude, really? :P" And around 1:00 I was just like... AWW THIS IS AMAZING! Then I rewatched it, and it was SO SWEET. :) Love the sickbay scene... Will always love the sickbay scene. And I really hope they don't try and subvert it with the new movies.

  • HAPPY SLASH DAY!!! 9-15.

  • Judge " Tiberius"

    Kirk " Yes"

Judge " Where did the Vulcan touch you?"

    Kirk * Cries* " I don't want to remember"

  • what episode is at 0:52? o.O

  • I....can't...breathe.

  • Got to say I dislike the whole "slash" thing, but even I thought it was funny at the end when Spock said "emotional transference is an effect of the mind-meld" and Kirk looks traumatised.

  • @jimbopumbapigsticks i love the punch line at the end

    "So you do feel"

    "Yes"

  • What's disturbing is that after a while the song starts to grow on you.

    Most illogical behaviour...

  • this is one of the best videos on the internet

  • O.O!! There aren't any words to describe exactly how awesome this video is!! ^-^♥

  • Kirk and Spock rule. They didnt have to actually make love. They were making love the whole time,

  • ear rapppeeeee . . . .

  • What is 1:41

  • @uchihanaruto13: It's from Star Trek V - The Final Frontier.

  • THIS JUST MADE MY LIFE I LOVE THE INTERNET

  • @Lacama09 to answer your second question, 0:53-0:58 are from Star Trek: The Motion Picture, from when Spock was participating in the Kohlinar, and when Spock returned to rhe Enterprise.

  • @Lacama09 that's what it looks like, but Kirk's actually saying "oh my!". The clip is from the Generations movie.

  • What is the episode clip at 0:53 - 0:58?

  • Anyone else totally snort when the song came on and then felt horribly sad afterwards? :(

  • This scene on the planet Delta Vega (the first part) when kirk starts walkin and talkin on his recorder and he sees somethin far off runnin his way and then all of the sudden the animal jumps in front of the screen is the part that scared the piss outta me hahaha!

  • I have to agree. I think he is think aobut him in that shot. First Kirk loss Spock to the Gensis Project. Then Spock loss Kirk with the Nexus rift. I think that some should write a story to bring them back together as best friends.

  • Is it just me, or does Jim say "Spock" between 1:40 and 1:42? :)

  • Thanks. This made me smile. :)

  • I don't remember when was the last time I laughed this hard.

Thank you very much for posting this clip.

    Live Long and Prosper.

  • okay lol, when the music first started playing, I was like, "Are you fucking serious right now?" But then i actually watched it...and the song really did fit quite perfectly. This has made me want to read some KS fanfiction.

  • I will love you forever for making this video. :3

  • Awesome! Ever since I read this one slash fic about Spock Prime/Kirk I've been searching for more XD

  • Great way to make Spock and Kirk seem gay, dude!

  • @professorsiebelink That's the point.

Besides, they really don't need help in that respect.

  • that was awesome!

  • aaaaw, sweet =)

  • Beautiful; thank you. Adding to favorites.

  • Anyone who does not see that the original series was full of homosexual subtext was in serious denial. They were all about the warrior bond T'hy'la, (freind, brother, lover). The creator Roddenberry was quoted saying;

"The only difference was - the Greek ideal - we never

suggested in the series - physical love between the two,

but we certainly had the feelingthat the affection was

sufficient for that, if that were the particular

    style of the 23rd century."

    This is soooooo Slash :3

  • @AleraBloodsong WHAT??? OMG! So it is canon after all! I knew it had to be. All I ever hear is fans saying "blah blah Roddenberry is appalled, blah blah blah.." but I knew it was too obvious not to be intentional. Suck it, non believers!

  • At first when the vid started, I was all "LOL"......and then by 1:17, I was all "TEARS IN MAH EYES!" ;)

  • Spock Prime was upset and unsure how to deal. he was a little scared and was stuck on a ice planet with out someone to talk to so i would think once he had seen young kirk. he felt it was his place to tell him what the problem was.

  • Yes but Spock would not say if he felt all the Young Kirk was feeling. He would say in private to himself not to someone.

  • I remembered that I smiled the first time I saw the mind-meld in the cinema. I know in TOS Kirk/Spock mind-melded with each other a couple of (on screen) times. And the prime Spock's reaction of recognition of the young Kirk and his suggestion of the mind-meld is very 'Jim, I have missed you' sort of way. God, Leonard Nimoy so *knew* about those K/S subtext...

  • you did a wonderful job at the time line within the mind meld

  • *LOVES*!!! A like and a fav for you my friend! Very good!

  • 3 people missed the like button.

  • you have absolutely no idea how addicting this is :,D now every time i watch the reboot movie i start squeeing just for the heck of it. (sure does confuse the hell outta everyone else in the room...but it's definitely worth it!)

  • This mind meld between Kirk and Spock Prime showed events that occurred on Rura Penthe. Got the distinct impression Kirk saw somebody he knew. Wonder who it was? Wonder whose life was altered as much as his was? Wonder if that life was altered at all? Maybe it didn't change for someone. It wasn't Spock, he was never on Rura Penthe. There are so many things left unanswered in this movie, it's infuriating. I know the comic book says a targ bit off Nero's ear, but I don't think so.

  • this is gay

  • @CaptainRon0001 This is obvious.

  • @CaptainRon0001 ....that would be the entire point of this video. Thank you Captain Obvious.

  • Ahahaha oh my god! Right when the music started, an ad popped up at the bottom of the screen that said "Inspired by actual events."

  • Comment removed

  • That was fantastically beautiful and sad! I haven't seen all the movies yet, only number 4 so, when Kirk fell down that mountain did...is that when he died? I thought he died of old age.......or at least that is what wiki said. T.T

Spock and Kirk are such a beautiful couple!

  • @Lexyismyhero yes that is when he died, watch the movie Generations.

  • Best part? Krik's reaction imediately after seeing what we've all already seen before and accepted as fact. Must be overwhelming to know that in another live you were in a totally non-heterosexual relationship with a guy who apparently also hates your guts... and see it all from the pov of an older version of that guy who apparently feels the exact opposite... looks like Jim here may have a new reason to return to the ship... ;)

  • Loved this.... amazing!!!! :D

    I love Leonard Nimoy!

    I love Kirk & Spock!!! <3 Spirk = Shatnoy

Really wish Nimoy and Shatner were still young enough to make more films!!!

I'll always love TOS more and the cast.

  • @ChelseyCSD Oh i know. Didn't Mr. Nimoy just retire? Like officially?

  • This should've been used in the movie. Spock showed new kirk of their friendship and the exploits they had together.

  • I really need to remember to NOT watch this when people are around... My squee is so massive that I cannot hold it in, and then people are all o.O

  • can someone please tell me which star trek series these episodes are from.

  • I swear to God that's EXACTLY what I thought transferred through the mind-meld! You read my mind. Thanks so much for all your awesome vids cos they've been entertaining me greatly!

  • this is freaking cool, wonderful selection of spock memories, very slashy, well done you

  • Oh my GOd. This is so epic. As in such K/S slashy goodness! IT is just brilliant. 5 stars, hell ten, 20 million stars for you! Totally loved it! XD

  • lol. :)

  • I can not tell you how much i love this video it is saved on my favorites! :D

  • i hope spock prime will still be in the next star trek movie. i heard he was retiring or something but still... star trek just wouldn't be star trek without leonard nimoy

  • @Medi814

The song is called "It's All Coming Back to Me Now." I don't know if this is the Celine Dion version.

  • How the song is called?

  • To borrow Jim's words: GUH

(I've already commented on this video. I am doing so again. It is that good)

  • Wait, what episode is the clip at 0:34 from? And what song is this? I wanna know!

  • This has been bothering me for so long... what episode is the clip at 0:52 from?

  • @gunza21 It's from Requiem for Methuselah. Crappy episode, but well worth it for that final scene!

  • KIRK SAID "GUH" !!!!! He did!!!!!! At 1:51. Oh my goodness. The sound that our fandom has adopted to express our thoughts on exceptional slashiness, and KIRK JUST SAID IT!! That makes this vid even MORE epic!

  • This video makes my heart hurt. I took the advice of a previous commenter who pretended that they had never heard this song before. I must admit that, when I tried that, I almost cried about this vid! It's so beautiful in its cheesy-ness.

  • he is a hero of the federation and can mindmeld he would find out

  • Kirk isn't the only one suffering from some hard-core emotional transferrance...I am completely speechless with awe and wiping away tears. Well done!

  • This is the best Spock/Kirk video i have watched.... and i have seen alot! XD

The song made me giggle at first but they are so sweet and oh so gay for each other in the original.

This is my favorite serious/sweet slash video.

  • The first 17 times I tried to watch this (to be honest), I started laughing when the song came on...only because I had scene a funny video with it earlier..

I decided to pretend I didn't know the song...and to just watch this...

Holy crap am I glad I did...

And, ftr, I freakin' hate Generations.

  • Wow. I totally expected this to be lame. But oh my gosh I love it!!!!!! Ten billion stars.

  • How would Spock know how Kirk died when Spock wasn't even in Star Trek: Generations?

  • @HecG He felt it through their bond? Picard told him? *shrug*

  • @spookyfbi8 Yeah I realized that Spock could've mind melded with Picard anytime after the events of ST:Generations and that Picards memories of Kirk's death would've been transferred over to Spock Prime during the mind meld.

  • @spookyfbi8 THE BOND THEORY! Please!!! *sniffle*

  • @HecG LOL you know news spread even in the 23rd and 24th centuries of course Spock knew how Kirk died everyone in and out of the Federation knew. It was James Fucking Kirk for god's sake!

  • @HecG Spock was alive during TNG times, and Kirk is the most famous captain in starfleet history. Word would have gotten out.

  • @HecG

he is a war hero his death would become known

    Plus Spock can mind meld

  • @HecG There was a scene in one of the books where Spock's ship from Vulcan just appeared while the Federation was cleaning up the Enterprise D. He stood at Kirk's cairn and was the reason Kirk wasn't taken back to Earth for 'proper' burial.

  • Comment removed

  • @HecG When a Star Fleet Admiral dies, word gets around fast. Remember, only Picard knew how Kirk really died. All the rest in Kirk's generation thought he died when he was blasted out of the hole of Enterprise-B.

  • @HecG He was alive in Generations though.

  • @HecG He wouldn't necessarily have to have been in the movie if Spock went back in time AFTER Kirk's death. After all, word gets around in subspace.

  • That was breath taking. Utterly breath taking. Almost laughed at the song. Almost. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks how well it worked for the situation and K/S. Like a ton of bricks I tell you. Then came the ya' know... breathless part.

  • so... I ... LOVE... THIS! Just thought you ought to know :D

  • oh my god, that was super cute at the beginning but SO sad at the end! I love it so much! And I totally think that if given the chance Spock Prime would give nu!Kirk his slashy memories of himself and Kirk Prime. Y'know, so that nu!Kirk would recognise it as an option for him and HIS Spock ;)

All in all, loved it to death! <3 Totally one of the best video's I've ever seen!

  • Who would've thought Leonard would don the pointy ears after 18 years? I was very surprised.

  • @timberwolf84 where was that, i must have missed it.

  • @TheoreticalLife

    The whole movie.

    Watch it.

  • @timberwolf84 I know. But it made it right somehow.

  • it is very interesting because they pass through time rememebering what have been in other version of their lifes

    a fascinating video good job

  • This video goes from REALLY, REALLY funny to REALLY, REALLY depressing REALLY, REALLY fast. REALLY.

But it remains one of my all-time favs. <3

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh my GOD that was probably one of the funniest guilty pleasures I have ever seen/heard EVER.

  • Okay, ultimate slashy win aside, this video just reawakened my guilty love of Celine Dion. I hope you're happy. I was a year sober... :P

Seriously though, very cool vid. Did the ultimate slash pairing justice! *thumbs up*

  • EPIC FUCKING WIN.

  • This is just perfect! Beautifully done. <3

  • Ok, to be completely honest the first time I saw this vid I couldn't watch it til the end because the song was just waaay too silly to me. Now I've watched it about 5 times and I can't stop. The song still makes me feel awkward BUT at the same time the way you've used the clips and song together is, well, -so- K/S. And I love the idea :)... (who can say no to all the delicious K/S moments you've shown here?). I love how it's chronological too. Ok~ time to watch it again!

  • Oh, my gosh. This is so totally plausible.

And I love how you assembled the first part of the flashbacks to make it seem like they had just... well... yeah.

And also how, after all that he sees, movie!Kirk is all, "Whoa. I'm gay with Spock" rather than "Whoa, that was intense."

Actually, it could be both. XD

  • i laughed myself to TEARS. this was both hilarious and super epic.

  • This is epic!

  • Hot damn, now every time I hear this song I'm gonna think of Spock and Kirkie-boy and smile to myself like a lunatic.

    Great montage.

  • this made my day :D

Seriously haha this vid is awesomeeeee.

  • i never knew that the original series was so slashy O.O

    this vid is awesome!

  • Oh yes, it's very slashy. Kirk/Spock was the first slash pairing. Even in the 70s, when homosexuality was considered a mental illness, there were fans who saw the subtext and wrote fanfics about them.

  • oh, lol :)

  • @spookyfbi8 Subtext? This goes way beyond subtext. They were practically slapping you in the face with this pairing. Point in case, the infamous 'Back rubbing scene'.

Also, nice editing:D Very well done.

  • Time to watch the original series, my friend it is slash from Act 1 Scene 1 all the way through the six movies, slashy slashy slash

    LOL

  • Lol, i've only watched the first two episodes and i can already see it

    lol

  • Oh, and btw, I don't exactly like this song, but now it's stuck in my head and I can't stop singing it, and relating it to this video. Damn you. :D

  • Comment removed

  • XD OMG!! hahaha I love it, corny but sweet

  • OMG! I wish this was newer so that you could put it in the Ship's Closet's vid contest because I would totally wish this would win!!! It was HILLARIOUS and yet so perfect at the same time! LOVED IT and great job!

  • What episode does the clip at 0:49-0:51 come from?

  • It's Spectre of the Gun, from season 3

  • Thank you! <3

  • Wow, didn't know they where so touchy and close in the series, of course I haven't seen much of it, but I'm in love with the movie and Spirk.

    And this video was AWESOME!!

  • Oh yeah, there's a lot of touchy-feely moments in TOS. William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy are physically incapable of being more than two inches apart. They have, like, one personal bubble shared between the two of them or something, it's awesome!

  • And sadly I never noticed it when I watched parts of it when my Grandpa would watch it. At least I was never in the room when the two where actually on screen lol.

I hope they do more in the sequel of the movie, I'm sure they will now that they are "friends" Lol, but I'm a fangirl just praying haha

  • I don't know what to think about the sequels. I mean, on the one hand, there's no way they're gonna deny the epic K/S friendship. But on the other hand, they've paired Spock up with Uhura, and I don't know how that's gonna play into the K/S dynamic.

K&S weren't touchy-feely in the first movie, but they did seem to spend a significant portion of the film undressing each other with their eyes, so that's at least promising...

  • Well if the epic friendship of K/S was in the show, then they at least, if they care to keep some of the old Star Trek in the movie, will put some of there touchy-feely in the movies. And in the first, they hated each other so thats expected of them not wanting to touch each other, in at least friendly ways. And depending on what's going to happen in the sequels, we have no idea what's to come. And I enjoyed how they undressed each other, that was good enough for me.

  • And even if they don't touchy feeling, just seeing the two close to each other, is good enough for me Lol. I apolgize for the ranting

  • Lol, that's cool, I'm prone to ranting too :)

One thing that made the K/S friendship work so well though was the fact that neither of them had a long term relationship (unless you count their relationship with each other). Each of them was the most important thing in the other's lives, even above their core values and beliefs. Kirk was more important to Spock than logic, and Spock was more important to Kirk than the Enterprise. I don't know how they can have *that* kind of friendship with Uhura

  • in the picture. It'd be weird if Spock's brand new bff was more important to him than his love interest.

But yeah, in terms of the actual chemistry between them, there is a lot still to squee about. I love the bit at the end where they walk onto the bridge from Nero's ship, and they're both walking together and standing together is perfect sync, like they're both the same person! <3<3

  • Yes, it would be weird to have Spock closer to his friend then lover, I agree with that and would actually hate if that happened. Cause then it'd throw a lot off. But, to see there friendship grow stronger to the point where they wouldn't have to beat each other up, would be great, even though they can't be that way forever, they will get frustrated. All in all, I just want to see a touchy/feely relationship like what I saw in the vid ((Cause I haven't seen the show)) but have U/S still remain

  • Yeah, and yet if they were to stay true to the original K/S dynamic of the series (which they do seem intent on doing, if Spock Prime's parting words to his younger self were anything to go by), then Kirk and Spock will be that important to each other. It'll be interesting to see how they handle that...

  • No kidding, especially with Kirk's cocky attitude and Spock's way of sending witty remarks back. I'm sure, even with Uhura, something will happen with the two that old S/K and new S/K fans will enjoy!! Along with the Fangirls, cause I doubt everyone see's there friendship as lovin, but who knows. BTW, I've enjoyed chatting with you. This has been the longest comment talk I've ever had lol.

  • Oh yeah, there'll definitely be something. Pine and Quinto have AMAZING chemistry, so if they get to be in the same scene together (which they undoubtedly will for a significant portion of the movies), we'll definitely have something to squee over!

Whether or not other fans see their friendship in a slashy way, Gene Roddenberry has said that they had enough affection for each other to have a physical relationship. He even invented the word t'hy'la, a Vulcan word translating to friend, brother

  • and lover, and had Spock refer to Kirk as his t'hy'la in the novelization of the first movie.

:) It's always fun to talk to fellow K/Sers!

  • No kidding, I love how good they are together. Both very great actors. I love that word, I've read it a few times in fanfics and if only just once, I'd love to hear that be spoken in one of the sequels, even if it's just for education...I'd love to hear it just to see the look on Kirk's face as Spock explained it. This is a Spirk fan praying again..but, I'd also love to see a hint of it meaning the two of them, if it's even spoken, which, as I've said if the movie plans to stay close to the show

  • They'd at least slip it in, hopefully. Like I said even if it's just for education or what not. Just the thought of it, as I've said before, that prob make a lot of fans happy.

  • That would make me ecstatic, but I don't think they'll do it. T'hy'la was never in the actual series or movies, it was only ever in the novelization of TMP (and later in some of the slashier novels). They didn't even have the Vulcan kiss in the new movie, which *was* in the series, because they didn't want to get bogged down by having to explain it to viewers who'd never seen Star Trek, so I'm not anticipating the inclusion of t'hy'la, which doesn't seem well known outside of slash fans...

  • PS- Sorry, I feel like I'm harping on your squee a bit here by complaining about the sequels. I really do love the new franchise for the most part, but... I don't know, there's things I can't stop complaining about. I guess it's a sign of my fannish emotional investment in these characters :P

  • Ah I see, well that was just me dreaming. To be honest I don't know what to expect, like I said, never saw the show and I just got into the movie cause the action and just how hot everyone looked and I actually like how Star Trek is and MAY watch the show, but who knows. In all honesty I don't care what the sequels bring as long as it's as great as the first, but better! And I'm just glad the same cast will be there. And it's fine, Everyone has different opinions, I've enjoyed the conversation

  • Oh yeah, I'll probably like the sequels no matter what anyway. They did an excellent job with the first movie and I'm sure there'll be a lot to squee over for us fangirls (fingers crossed we get to see Chris Pine with his shirt ripped too! /shallow fangirl moment)

You should totally watch the series if you get the chance. It's like a fangirl's dream come true. So many slashy moments, fanfic tropes that are actually in the episodes... Gender bending, hurt/comfort, evil versions of the characters

  • Yeah same here, I'm easy to please with movies. I love anything I watch. And OMG, He'd look HOTT with a ripped shirt just thinking about it kills me lol, I just know he'll get beat up more then he did in the first, which is fine with me cause he's so sexy covered in blood and messed up. And I'm thinking of doing that, I'll be sure to sit and watch when my G-Pa has it on thats for sure lol.

  • Here's hoping NuKirk's shirt is just as flimsy as TOS!Kirk's shirt (it was always getting torn in the series :P).

Cool, let me know when you do. It takes a while to get past the camp factor and get into it, but one you do, it's awesome!

  • Not hoping, Praying! Big Fangirl pray. Lol, Oh I'm such a nerd. I'll be sure to do that, he usually watches it and I catch glimpses of it, I'm actually going to see if he has it. and if not, I'll just watch what he watches and watch clips on youtube. i thank god for youtube lol

  • Argh! Youtube doesn't seem to want to post my comment! Apparently it doesn't like links.

Anyway, you can watch the full episodes at the cbs website if your Grandpa doesn't have them. I'll pm you the site, hopefully that will work :/

  • Yeah you've gotta put your links carefully or it won't take it. Again thank you!!
