wow Japan's super cool! which reminds me that i'm going there soon. lolz i relly wish 2 C their cosplay. unlike my country, there aren't much cosplay going round here due to d lack of support frm d parents!
so fucking upset, i went to japan and i insisted and convinced my parents to go to Harajuku to see Cosplay, but guess what? THERE WERE NO ONE THERE!! *criesssss!!! epic failuree!
@pyrokineticgirl there would be more cosplayers at Akihabara at a regular basis but usually peeps at akihabara would only dress up during weekends or special occasions and meet up plus they are not all over Harajuku... ._. black mustaches suck ballz.
@pyrokineticgirl I hear ya, I spent 2 1/2 weeks in tokyo over xmas and new years and the first time I went there was a concert nearby so they were not out.... the second time was just after new years and there were tons of ppl going to the shrine to they were not there AGAIN...... *sigh*
I don't understand if you are asking me or who else. By the way the final sentence is ironic. Just a quick note about "cosplaying" or similar phenomena in Japan: it's a just a visual instance, no political concerns are involved. So you decide if this is comparable more to a overnight Halloween night (weird costumes, no other concernings) rather than the Punk movement in the '70 (trasgressive dresses and high political conscience).
@aoakagb You still didn't answer my question. Why do you disaprove? My father disaproves of both. Weather it be a "hippy thing" or just for funsies. And I was mearly making a point that if you don't want to risk your children being someone you don't want them to be, you have to make them socially ignorant.
My daughter can dress like she wants; by the way in Japan, cosplaying is a kind of game actually: those same persons go to school everyday wearing a uniform and will conform to the their society standard way of living, anyway. If they go dressing weird on saturday afternoon, I don't see any rebellion against society: it's just a costume game.
@aoakagb Conforming is everywhere. Conforming = social acceptance. And everyone is a conformist one way or another. I don't know where rebellion came into this. Freedom of visual expression (weather it be contest, funsies, whatever you call it) should be a natural right. No matter what it means to anybody. :P Your not really making a defined point here.
Freedom of visual expression is a right in your country, I hope, so it's you that is not making any point. Usually people are sent to jail or get killed for their ideas and political standings, and not for their dresses. Actually there are countries where people (especially women) can get killed of they don't comply to a very strict dress code. So I wouldn't really bother if a bored teenager in a rich country cannot wear her funny costumes because their parets get mad. Sorry.
@aoakagb That's why i said "it should be a natural right." :P It's because of tradition and the rejection of new ideas that creates persicution. But in this situation, i thought we were pertaining to Japan. I don't recall mentioning anything about the oppressions of the middle east. Unless there is persicution in Japan (or where you live), then that particle of info is rather useless to your defense. All oppression and persicution aside, freedom of expression SHOULD be a natural right.
@bakabunny14 Those verys ame people that spend the saturday afternoons in harajuku, go to school everyday wearing a uniform and fully conform to the standards of their society. They just wear a costume almost like in never ending halloween party. Maybe they are free to dress like they want but it's like living in a zoo...
@aoakagb ^^ i would so do that :P at the school im in you can wear whatever with the exseption of undergarments and pjs. it acctually looks pretty cool the way some of the people dressed alot dressed like members from The GazattE
@aoakagb I understand if you don't want your daughters to show skin, but i do not recall any over exposure during the video. What if your daughters find this style fascinating? Do you plan them shut down?
I already replied one of your comments a few hours ago. You clearly didn't read it. Just to make things clear: this video is ironic, I don't disapprove anything about anyone. Guess what: if you want to walk the road naked you are welcome.
@aoakagb Yes i read it. Your grammer didn't make it easy, but i read it. And yet, no matter how many times i read it, there really wasn't a straightforward answer. And in this video, you clearly stated disaproval, since you won't allow your "daughters" to wear the style. And lastly, i did express that i agree with parental disgust of overexposure. But in this video, that is not the case. :/
Apparently, not doing what everyone else does instead of being an individual, means i'm going to fail at life. Apperantly, growing curious and reasearching about different cultures, mind processes, ideals, is just going to be my downfall.Finding something out of the ordinary "fascinating" is wrong to him. We have the infromation in front of us, but i should have denied it. Shame shame shame. So, just warning you. This is what goes on in our hormone induce heads.
If you do it just right and if they happen to be exposed to something you disaprove of, they will be too proud and stubborn, and they wont attempt. I am mearly sharing this, because my father failed at these, and now i'm going to grow up to "know things." I'm going to "go against the flow." "Refuse to conform." Now i'm a disgrace to him because i find other styles and ideas more appealing.
To be brutally honest, most men are blockheads. If you don't want your children being a certain way, then you have to enforce and train that from the very very beginning. You must teach your children ignorance and pride. If they do not know about it, they can't imitate it. Teach them to be close-minded and they will reject it altogether. Make them believe their lifestyle is most superior.
Once girls hit a certain state (usually their teenage years), they do grow rebellious when their parents inforce their control in a non supportive manner. Espesially fathers, because they could never say, "i went through this stage, so i totally understand."
uv proble heard this alot but Harajuku isnt real .. its called cosplaying and lolita ... harajuku is a freacken shtreet iv been there o-o n i live in jp hafe the time no one calls it harajuku what ever it is

Good! I love people just being themselves. Just realize that dressing like this in Japan (in Tokyo) is not seen as radical as it can be seen in a little town in the bible belt in U.S., so everything's relative...
@warmheartedkiller yeah my mum is happy to have me as a unique person as her daughter too, but many ppl here are walking aroun with that stuff looking totally ugly and it doenst fit to their personality..... it depends
@naoti22 Understandable. But that's the same as any style, that's just a poser. And there's posers of everything, doing it because they think it makes them look cool and it doesn't fit their personality.
@warmheartedkiller No offenese but I think it's easier for you cause your a girl. I'm a guy and I dress visual, I think I have it a lot harder than you do. I may be wrong but I think it's harder for parents to accept that there son likes to wear makeup then their daughter likes to wear makeup.
@thevisualkeiguru It definitely is easier as a girl I think, but it varies from situation to situation. My dad used to wear makeup because he was part of the new wave goth movement, so I know if I was a guy wearing makeup he would still support it. I'm lucky that way. But however, in another family situation it could be looked down upon, just like how a girl dressing visual could be looked down upon. I still believe that having your family want you for you is a great thing, no matter the gender.
awww so lucky that u have a mother that supports your style :]
my style is like.....well my own style really like..military, biker....ya (ignore my username i made this account like 2-3 years ago :P) and my mum hates the way i am. :|

Agh I went to that bridge but all of the people must have been in school...and it was raining...but there is a cool temple across the bridge and down some road.
When I say "Black Mustache" it's just a funny, ironic way to describe the average italian guy: usually he is very ignorant and makes no effort to understand different cultures (for examples: when a "black mustache" goes out for dinner in Tokyo he does not look for sushi or other traditional japanese meal but he always asks for pasta and pizza!)
hey that guy on 1:11 is white...he doesnt belong there xD....hey another white guy on 1:17...he doesnt beling there either xD.....ha spotted another white guy with his back turned on 1:30 xD... oi! two white guys and one white woman on 1:40! xD, hey another fat white guy on 1:42 4 white guy and 1 white woman and im not racist im just being funny xD

What is black mustache?
michaelmayhem123 3 years ago 2
When I say "Black Mustache" it's just a funny, ironic way to describe the average italian guy: usually he is very ignorant and makes no effort to understand different cultures (for examples: when a "black mustache" goes out for dinner in Tokyo he does not look for sushi or other traditional japanese meal but he always asks for pasta and pizza!)
aoakagb 3 years ago
haha oohhhh. and that person in the red looks awesome!
