  • Groves freaked the fuck out! Damn blue!

  • My guess at the voice cast:

    Frank Oz - Grover

    Baker - Camille Bonora

    Florist - Noel MacNeal

    Mover 1 - Marty Robinsin(?)

    Mover 2 - David Rudman

    Shoemaker - Jerry Nelson

    Dry Cleaner - Jim Kroupa(?)

    Postwoman - Fran Brill

  • THRILLER!

  • DRAMA!

  • SUSPENSE!

  • GO GROVER!

  • This Is From 1989-1990

  • FTW

  • OMG!

  • Who are the performers? I think Noel Macneal is doing the florist.

  • @grapebuy789 He Is

  • Grover's been on the piss too much. Look at that gut.

  • @Macca343 LOL

  • Was The Postman Sick?

  • Tyrone And Gus Also Appeared In

    Charlie's Restaurant With Mr. Johnson

  • Poor Grover

  • 3:37 - 0 Rings = Shoemaker

    1:20 - 1 Rings = Baker

    4:14 - 2 Rings = Postman

    4:44 - 3 Rings = COOKIEMAN

    2:35 - 4 Rings = Movers

    2:00 - 5 Rings = Florist

    3:27 - 7 Rings = Cleaner

  • The Dry Cleaner Is Voiced By Jim Martin

  • WILL YOU ALL GO AWAY!!!!!!!

  • "Four??? Four, four rings....oh, perhaps it is... two postmen, let's see." - ROFL

  • I think this is when Sesame Street began to employ that running gag where the characters get startled by a sudden dramatic music sting

  • SOMEBODY RANG MY DOORBELL TWICE AND IT WASNT THE POSTMAN DONT BELIEVE THESE LIES

  • Grover's always getting shoved to the back.

  • I was certain the Very Important Letter would be an ACTUAL letter, like the Letter G for Grover. Hm!

  • Four rings? Well, perhaps it is two postmen.

  • the green am muppet with the flowers sounds like bear from bear in the big blue house

  • unable to retrieve video information *sniff* :(

  • @baublemoon It's because Sesame Street has always been about throwing in references and celebrities that no kids will recognice as a treat for the parents. The reason this works is because they also make sure to make these parts interesting/silly/funny enough for the children to enjoy as well.

  • LMAO at the ending!

  • Furry little blue doorbell? XD

  • cookie monster is the main man

  • very cute. i loved these as a child! but won't they be misleading later on?

  • If the postman (or postwoman) always rings twice, then:

    The baker always rings once;

    The cookie salesman always rings three times;

    The furniture movers always ring four times;

    The florist always rings five times;

    The cobbler always rings six times;

    And the dry cleaner always ring seven times.

  • "I'm not the postman--I'm the postwoman." Nowadays, the term used is "letter carrier." Also, "The King and the Fireman" would probably call him a "firefighter." I like how they totally rip on the gender-specific word "postman."

  • Thanks for killing the fun spaz

  • the postman always flings rice

  • love that British flag in the intro

  • Thanks for reposting this.

  • My bad, I meant...

    Grover's Action Image at 1:00 seems to match the picture seen on Season 24's Opening for Monsterpiece Theater.

  • I loved the music of shock every time they would say I always ring .....

  • Yeah, I liked that, too. Whenever that "shock music" plays, they stare straight into the camera like they're scared or something.

  • yeah, having a pipe is that crucial.

    durr.

  • Alistair Cookie did not have his pipe when they made this. I think it was made around 1989-1992.

  • David Spade is in this one. Cool.

  • Really!?

  • Why didn't the postwoman just give Grover the letter? In fact, it kind of looked like she was pulling it back as he reached for it. like she didn't trust him or something.

  • I think she did that because the people that arrived at Grover's house before she did was because a few people besides Grover were expecting one as well, and therefore I think Grover fainted because he must have known that he was the first to get the letter and in which the others cut in front of him and therefore he didn't seem quite happy with that situation because he was supposed to get his letter first. What do you think?

  • It's possible I suppose.

  • Maybe she was a little confused on which person was Grover since there were a lot of people in Grover's house, and because all the people in Grover's house were coming up to her saying that they're all expecting an important letter. (I guess if Grover showed some ID to her, she would know that Grover is the owner of that house where she would have given the letter to him).

  • Possibly.

  • are Elmo and grover related????????????? when you think about it they look ALOT alike.

  • Yeah I thought Elmo was Grover's nephew, isn't he?

  • "the postman will ring my furry little blue doorbell"

    "four rings? well, perhaps it is two postmen."

  • Anyone know who voices the postwoman?

  • Sounds like Fran Brill to me.

  • Yeah I think the postwoman is voiced by Fran Brill.

    I can also tell that the other voices are:

    Baker: Camille Bonora

    Florist: Noel MacNeal

    Movers: Kevin Clash and David Rudman

    Dry Cleaner: Jerry Nelson

    Shoemaker: Martin P. Robinson

  • @rocketstevo Maybe the postwoman is Julianne Buescher (since it is from 1990), but maybe it could be Fran

  • @muppetlover16 No, It's Fran Brill

  • @cstoczyn Long live Frances Brill!

  • @muppetlover16 GO FRAN!

  • That's it! Give Grover an Oscar right now! There is NO WAY Elmo could ever deliver a better performance.

  • He will ring my furry little blue doorbell? That just sounds wrong.

  • The Postman Always rings Twice is a good movie. It was made in 1946. The Postman Always rings twice is in black and white. It is based on a novel.

  • Sesame Street kicks ass!!!!!!

  • Is it me, or does Grover always get the short end of the stick in these segments?

  • Adapting an R-rated movie for all the kiddies to watch?!

  • Can anyone please explain to me why Carroll Spinney rarely voices the Muppets for these skits on Sesame Street? It's usually Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Richard Hunt, Jerry Nelson, Fran Brill, etc.

  • @triviaer Carroll would do alot of Anything Muppets in 1969-early 1971, but then he decided to stick with Big Bird and Oscar, since those are two of his most popular characters, I wish he had the confidence to do AM's again, because some of his AM voices I really like, like that farmer in "The Magic Apple"

  • This might've been one of the last Monsterpiece Theater skits to use the Union Jack intro. I'm guessing this is from 1989-1991. And was Noel MacNeal involved with Sesame Street in the 1989-1991 period? The florist sounds like him.
