I researched both corgi breeds using the AKC website. Based on what I've learned I assumed that cute Betty was a cardigan... I'm apologize for offending. Didn't mean to.
No offense taken at all! Her looks can be confusing. She doesn't have that distinct Pembroke look, especially with her short coat. So many American breeders rely on docking so much they haven't really concentrated on breeding the shorter bobtails as much as they have in Europe. The people we got Betty from are breeders and they specifically wanted her litter to be au naturale! We were expecting a tail like the one your dog has and were surprised by her Cardigan-like tail, but we love it.
Betty is a purebred AKC registered Pembroke Corgi. She just didn't have her tail docked. There are a lot more differences between Cardigans and Pembrokes than just docking the tail at birth.
