Since we know this, it isn't bad. What matters is to celebrate and honour. The exact date isn't what matters first (and at the end we don't even know the exact date, since the ancient calendar is uncertain).
Count the year "0". The 2,500th Anniversary run of the marathon will take place Oct. 31, 2010 (Marathon to Athens). Google Athens 2010 Marathon.
