I'm for the D ring can take or leave accuwedge tried it didn't care for em too much same with anti walk kns pins. I would of focused on a sprinco buffer spring or a heavier buffer with the carbine gas system (I prefer a midy gas system myself) but a heaver buffer H2-H3 with carbine as system and a sprinco buffer spring would increase reliability along with d ring over the accuwedge

D-ring is sweet, Bravo Company USA sells an "upgraded extractor kit" for a few bucks that has whats called a "crane O-ring" plus a more powerful extractor spring. My M4 went from failing to eject, to launching the spent brass with noticeable extra force. I have not had a Failure to eject since.
The D ring makes such a big difference. Its amazing that they don't come pre-installed. That extra tension goes a long way. Never had too many problems with double feeds on my ATI Upper on account that it has the Adams Arms piston kit on it but my DPMS AR had some trouble extracting some of the cheaper ammo casings, the D ring cleared it right up
When I was deployed to Afghanistan I carried a Mk 12 Mod 1 rifle. It had a rubber ring like this one installed on it. The rifle failed to extract after ~30-45 rounds into a firefight leaving a round stuck in the chamber. I had to finish the patrol with the LAW as my weapon. It happened again a second time, so I threw it out. Never happened again after that. Others in my company had the same issue, and it was only the MK 12s doing it so I knew that's what it was. I DO NOT recommend using one.
@JMLipoff and SWAT team leaders say DO NOT USE THE WEDGE...These weapons are blueprinted and built within .001 of an inch...they are basically dyno'd ...careful what you mess with...got extraction problems...take it to a good armorer...I just wouldn't mess around with mickey mouse crap like this...
@hi####### also, find s friend that knows their way around am AR, or if you don't have that, plenty of ranges have instructors & there are some great schools out there... However you do it, get someone whom knows what they're doing to familiarize you w your rifle & show you how to shoot/operate it. It will be much quicker than doing it on your own, you'll be glad you did.
@hi####### there are a log of AR manufacturers out these days, but you get what you pay for. That said, colts are top notch, but that horse logo seems to add a few hundred bucks to the price tag. Bushmaster, armalite & rock river make great rifles. If you are going to bargain shop then get a DPMS, it'll do anything you ask of it.
Good information. I bought a accu-wedge before in the past for one of the many ARs that I have. Before I bought the accu wedge it had so much play.....I hated it. Used the accu wedge and it was great. I never heard about the Defender before. I will check this out. Great video. You have trolls.....sorry about that. I hate trolls. The only thing the AR15 has going for it is modularbility and non-military/recreational use. The real AK style (not the shit Chinese made variants with the shit loads of recoil and horrible accuracy) have some modularbility, which isn't very important, heavy hitting, good accuracy (not AS much as the AR15 but quite close) and the obvious ability to not jam no matter what. I respect that you like your AR15's but they are an aging system only good for recreation.
@JSwanny1030 the D-fender is not the solution for the wolf ammo. Wolf ammo have this lacquer or some type of material on the shell that melts and gets sticky. I ran 500 rounds of Wolf and it got stuck in the barrel after my 3rd mag. Figured it out after a minute of troubleshooting. Anyway, there maybe some use for wolf ammo, but not on ARs or "M4s/M16s" when you want some continuous shooting or you know your weapon will get hot easily. Anyhow, i might check out d d-fender for "just-in-case"...
Might want to recomend a buffer spring up grade for the carbine (eg. springco blue $20.) and heavier buffer (eg. h2 or spikes). Its like the sopmod upgrade just short of new ext. spring and tool steel extractor. Goop it all up with SLIP 2000.(FYI-Rember to keep her wet)

Best charging handle- get on bravo company`s website and order the bmg gunfighter charging handle. Its stronger than an add on tach handle and they come in different sizes. Best upgrade for the $ and not expensive. I went with the stage 4 and it works flawlessly even with winter gloves.
@kaptainkashstacka I really like the BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 handle. It's a little pricy, but it's a really nice charging handle and is way more comfortable than the stock latch.
Good recommendations. The play in the upper and lower on a few of my ARs always bothered me as well. Nice to see someone suggesting realistic upgrades people can actually afford.

AR system is very reliable??? who the fuck arew you kidding??? have you done in training in the Infantry with Ars??? You have to keep that weapon clean..thats why there was cleaning kit in the butstock but thats all gone with new stocks..Get Ar with the piston driven and you have increased reliabiltiy by 80% So you were in the AirForce, Explains it.
@spacecop67 I've done tons field training (live fire, and force on force) with my M4, and it runs with no problems. The key is to maintain your discipline and keep it clean. If you don't take care of your M4/M16, it won't take care of you.
Everyone still has cleaning kits. It didn't go away with the new adjustable stocks.
I may be Air Force, but I'm more trained than some infantry guys out there due to the nature of my unit.
@millerusaf Im just replying to your comment the M16 is very reliable..My response is HAAAAAAA....I started out with the CIA black gun M16A1 and there hasnt been a live fire or any Range or training exct...movement to contact or senerio were some one on squad or fire team dosnt yell out malfuction...No there seems to be alot improvements, piston system, BEARS system with charging handle, its getting the improvements it needs but always trust your side arm..be it Colt or Sig. M14 over AR anyday

@spacecop67 Just dont know. I'll break it down for ya buddy. The AR15 is very reliable, Milspec vs Civilian use is different. The Piston system doesnt improve anything to that great of an extent to where DGI rifles are no longer worth running. My DPMS is DGI and I've only had 1 problem with that only required Oil. And I'll add..infantry weapons fail to work because infantry guys are DUMB.

Most shooters never push their rifles far enough to see what happens so they never know so a DPMS would be fine. DPMS is suspect at best, theit QC is 50% at best. Their bolts crack all the time to name 1 reason. Target shooting here and there fine, milspec training or prolonged engagements...Hell NO! Maybe you got a good one, most are sad! Wait until 5k rds

@cromer77 The scope is an NCStar Mark III Tactical Scope 6x42mm fixed. The average retail runs anywhere from 80-120 dollars.
Look into getting a dedicated .22lr AR instead of getting a kit. Seems like the kits are pretty expensive (with exception of a few), so you might as well get a totally different rifle (S&W makes a good .22lr AR for right around 400-500 dollars).
@cbr6864 They will run fine in the sand, it just takes a little more operator maintainence that's all. Needs to be well oiled, and cleaned VERY OFTEN...lol.

There is tons of play between AK-47 parts. This is why they run flawlessly even when filled with mud.
Play is a good thing and has no effect on reliability or accuracy.

I'm for the D ring can take or leave accuwedge tried it didn't care for em too much same with anti walk kns pins. I would of focused on a sprinco buffer spring or a heavier buffer with the carbine gas system (I prefer a midy gas system myself) but a heaver buffer H2-H3 with carbine as system and a sprinco buffer spring would increase reliability along with d ring over the accuwedge

D-ring is sweet, Bravo Company USA sells an "upgraded extractor kit" for a few bucks that has whats called a "crane O-ring" plus a more powerful extractor spring. My M4 went from failing to eject, to launching the spent brass with noticeable extra force. I have not had a Failure to eject since.

The D ring makes such a big difference. Its amazing that they don't come pre-installed. That extra tension goes a long way. Never had too many problems with double feeds on my ATI Upper on account that it has the Adams Arms piston kit on it but my DPMS AR had some trouble extracting some of the cheaper ammo casings, the D ring cleared it right up

When I was deployed to Afghanistan I carried a Mk 12 Mod 1 rifle. It had a rubber ring like this one installed on it. The rifle failed to extract after ~30-45 rounds into a firefight leaving a round stuck in the chamber. I had to finish the patrol with the LAW as my weapon. It happened again a second time, so I threw it out. Never happened again after that. Others in my company had the same issue, and it was only the MK 12s doing it so I knew that's what it was. I DO NOT recommend using one.

@hi####### also, find s friend that knows their way around am AR, or if you don't have that, plenty of ranges have instructors & there are some great schools out there... However you do it, get someone whom knows what they're doing to familiarize you w your rifle & show you how to shoot/operate it. It will be much quicker than doing it on your own, you'll be glad you did.

Bushmaster, armalite & rock river make great rifles. If you are going to bargain shop then get a DPMS, it'll do anything you ask of it.

The only thing the AR15 has going for it is modularbility and non-military/recreational use. The real AK style (not the shit Chinese made variants with the shit loads of recoil and horrible accuracy) have some modularbility, which isn't very important, heavy hitting, good accuracy (not AS much as the AR15 but quite close) and the obvious ability to not jam no matter what. I respect that you like your AR15's but they are an aging system only good for recreation.

@JSwanny1030 the D-fender is not the solution for the wolf ammo. Wolf ammo have this lacquer or some type of material on the shell that melts and gets sticky. I ran 500 rounds of Wolf and it got stuck in the barrel after my 3rd mag. Figured it out after a minute of troubleshooting. Anyway, there maybe some use for wolf ammo, but not on ARs or "M4s/M16s" when you want some continuous shooting or you know your weapon will get hot easily. Anyhow, i might check out d d-fender for "just-in-case"...

Might want to recomend a buffer spring up grade for the carbine (eg. springco blue $20.) and heavier buffer (eg. h2 or spikes). Its like the sopmod upgrade just short of new ext. spring and tool steel extractor. Goop it all up with SLIP 2000.(FYI-Rember to keep her wet)

Best charging handle- get on bravo company`s website and order the bmg gunfighter charging handle. Its stronger than an add on tach handle and they come in different sizes. Best upgrade for the $ and not expensive. I went with the stage 4 and it works flawlessly even with winter gloves.

@spacecop67 I've done tons field training (live fire, and force on force) with my M4, and it runs with no problems. The key is to maintain your discipline and keep it clean. If you don't take care of your M4/M16, it won't take care of you.
Everyone still has cleaning kits. It didn't go away with the new adjustable stocks.
I may be Air Force, but I'm more trained than some infantry guys out there due to the nature of my unit.

@whitmanshreds if you have to lube and clean it, then its not reliable. AK for example, never have to clean or lube it, and it will always take care of you.

@spacecop67 Just dont know. I'll break it down for ya buddy. The AR15 is very reliable, Milspec vs Civilian use is different. The Piston system doesnt improve anything to that great of an extent to where DGI rifles are no longer worth running. My DPMS is DGI and I've only had 1 problem with that only required Oil. And I'll add..infantry weapons fail to work because infantry guys are DUMB.

What experience do you have grading weaponry? Till you can come up with a sensible reason why I should of wasted money on a "name brand" AR stuff it.

My Panther hits 500 meter targets just as good as any other rifle. at 300 it holds my groups at 1 inche so you can think what you like son.

@Dogsoldier22 OK I will tel you then. Most AR's will do what you said your did with out a hiccup. The problem lies in the constant abuse. Most shooters never push their rifles far enough to see what happens so they never know so a DPMS would be fine. DPMS is suspect at best, theit QC is 50% at best. Their bolts crack all the time to name 1 reason. Target shooting here and there fine, milspec training or prolonged engagements...Hell NO! Maybe you got a good one, most are sad! Wait until 5k rds

@SOLDERBOY69 Ok so what AR do you own? Got pictures or a video? And when have you ever carried your own AR into some kind of combat? Unless you work for Aegis or Blackwater then id be inclined to say never. Im not just a guy who has no experience with weapons. I am a small arms repairman in the US Army. 7 years and 2 combat tours, sending men into real combat with a rifle ive personally fixed and they come back i nthe gates, I know what a good rifle looks like. And mine is just fine.

The M&P is a fine rife and their handgun is one of the best in the world. Tried the accuwedge. Didn't really work. Oh it helped with play but made the upper to tight and WAY to difficult to get off.

I don't like the excessive movement either if for not other reason than just the noise factor. I like mine tight also. Did not know about these thanks for the info. @ghostslut9870 Not usre if you are talking to be or Mrcaffinebean, but I wouldn't use the stuff my personal AR has on my duty issue one because I want to keep my duty issue AR light, simple and snag free (convoy operations and heavy rifles don't mix). My duty issue AR has everything I really need, honestly.

cool vid, I will have to check the price on the d-fender. I am going to order a .22lr kit and I was looking at a scope like yours. Did you say in one of your vids that it was 150? What model again? I saw one for 80, I will have to check the model number.

@cromer77 The scope is an NCStar Mark III Tactical Scope 6x42mm fixed. The average retail runs anywhere from 80-120 dollars.
Look into getting a dedicated .22lr AR instead of getting a kit. Seems like the kits are pretty expensive (with exception of a few), so you might as well get a totally different rifle (S&W makes a good .22lr AR for right around 400-500 dollars).

@Mrcaffinebean Depends on the unit. I can make small changes to my M4 without having to get them approved. It's my M4 and it's never issued to anyone else.
