What the hell is that jerk saying? I'd give Iron Man 5 stars any day!!! The storyline was a little typical, but then again it is a superhero movie. Other than that, the action was great. The acting was superb and the jokes were brilliant. None of that god-awful crass humor. The songs were pretty swell too! Of course, best of all is Iron Man himself (his armor, primarily). I just saw part 2 in the cinema and it rocks!! (saw part 1 ages ago) I so can't wait for Part 3. IRON MAN: EPIC!!!

I think even Batman Begins had more depth to it. The 1989 Batmans a classic in its own right too. Spidey 1 and 2 were also great superhero films. And let's not forget Sin City. Regardless what you may think of those films, they still had far more character developement, a unique atmosphere, and did a much better job at blending comic book cheese with mainstream film techniques. This movie just felt completely and utterly like another mindless summer action movie, with just a tad bit of depth.
I dont know what else they could have done, it was an entry movie, it was introducing people into the series. They did a good job of explaining Tony's back story, the next one will have more action and all but Robert Downing Jr. played the part perfectly. Batman Begins was good but it had alot of parts that made no sense and we already new why he chose bat's to symbolize fear, and Spiderman 1 was an entry movie same as this Iron Man. Let the next movie develope and it can be a great series

Yeah I think it will, in my opinion Spidey 2 was better than 1 because they didnt need to focus on letting new people know who the characters were they could just focus on the story. Though I am a little mad because I thought Terrance Howard did a great job as Rhodes and they replaced him. I like Don Cheadle too he just doesnt fit the part like Howard did
Okay Michael, I am going to have to disagree with you over here, I would give Iron Man a good 4.0, maybe 4.1 out of 5, it was a solid movie which isn't too common with superhero flicks. The story was well grounded and presented, Downey Jr. owned the role he was great, the graphics were intense, and it was overall a great film to watch. Only criticism was lack of epic battle between Iron Monger and Iron Man, that fight was a little short, but hey nothings perfect. So 4.0 or 4.1 for me :)

Agreed. They had a lot of good actors, but a lot of the dialogue they had to deliver was just terrible. The absolute worst scene is when a little girl wakes up from robot is in the backyard. She goes outside and asks the robot: "Excuse me, are you the tooth fairy?" WHAT were they THINKING?!

It needed AT LEAST 4 stars. This was my favorite film of the summer. I'm probably gonna get so much spamming on my profile for this, but I like "Iron Man" better than "The Dark Knight". talk about a OVER-HYPED movie. don't believe the hype. this movie is a C-. i was very disappointed. the story line is retarded. i thought special effects would make up for the storyline, but did not. i'm a Downey Jr fan to. Gweneth sucks big time.

WHAT?? 1. He was filming the dark knight at the time 2. He's not a character actor and is nothing like Tony Stark, 3. Just because he plays a crazy guy doesn't mean he can play every single role in the world, or is even the best actor, I can name like 20 better than him, also I felt like his performance was a bit over the top and hammy at times which doesn't workd for method actors at all. I thought all the stuff with the robots was pretty awesome, but all the human characters were either corny or downright stupid. I really understand why you hate it. I hate a lot of parts of it as well, but I enjoyed all the robot stuff.

Agreed. They had a lot of good actors, but a lot of the dialogue they had to deliver was just terrible. The absolute worst scene is when a little girl wakes up from robot is in the backyard. She goes outside and asks the robot: "Excuse me, are you the tooth fairy?" WHAT were they THINKING?!

I really hate when reviewers miss the main point, sometimes movies are just for ENTAIRTAINMENT! You don't always have to watch a movie to leave with some moral question.

This film is FAR from perfect.
Stark's escape was a huge plot hole. Seriously, being able to construct an entire suit under the gaze of the taliban?!?!
And while people seemed to like the interaction b/w Stark and Pepper, it was just far too much of a character change for a "womanizer".
Also, the final fight scene was a complete ripoff, that "climactic encounter" didn't need fine tuning, it needed a complete overhaul.
The rest of the movie was pretty good So I'd give it 7.5 out of 10.

4 stars. The lack of a suitale comic book villian until the end made the overall film feel like it wasn't really going anywhere. It was really enjoyable though but too little actually happened with Iron Man.

I just feel it is somewhat over hyped, it might have been that when i went to see it i expected it to be as good as LOTR: Return of the King (One of the best films ever imo.)
But also, i compare it to Iron Man, i love that film. It's more fun. But i know a lot of people love Dark Knight so i'll let them be.

Well I was 100% satisfied with The Dark Knight but not so much for Iron Man. Iron Man really didn't bring anything "new," it felt as though I was watching Spider-Man: Metal Edition. The Dark Knight was more of a Crime and Drama movie than a superhero movie. Plus Iron Man's story was nothing original and the villian was mediocore, but it was fun to watch.

It needed AT LEAST 4 stars. This was my favorite film of the summer. I'm probably gonna get so much spamming on my profile for this, but I like "Iron Man" better than "The Dark Knight". This is because I am a comic book fan. A movie of Iron Man had been being talked about since 2004 (you gotta be up to date on upcoming stuff like this when your as much of a geek as me). It blew all of our expectations to hell.

just saw ironman at the end of hulk movie. there will be a ironman 2. best superhero yet. easy to identify with. he is a regular guy who is a super tech. iron knight.
just saw it again wow!! just the sets and the hologram CAD.
Downey jr pulled it off better than anyone could have. That is acting old school. a suttle yet powerful performance. and a stage present that reminds me of when hollywood had real stars. Not the shaved chest, plastic tit and balloon lip crowd of today.

WHAT?? 1. He was filming the dark knight at the time 2. He's not a character actor and is nothing like Tony Stark, 3. Just because he plays a crazy guy doesn't mean he can play every single role in the world, or is even the best actor, I can name like 20 better than him, also I felt like his performance was a bit over the top and hammy at times which doesn't workd for method actors at all. Not to mention he's no longer alive.
