  • no offense ... maybe he was in hiding ..... cause ..... HE DIDN'T AGE WELL? ..... to bad that bale of hay killed him ..... freaky strange way to go ...... someone on rt.90 in ohio died from a runaway spare tire crossing wide grass median (from opposite lane) flew up in the air and landed right on top of driver side of car and killed him instantly. if your gonna die, pain wise, probably the best, but, the "no goodbyes" would be too painful for family members!

  • @MrTjgale Would love to do Mel on Youtube, but the most convenient at the time was to do it via email

for which I will be forever grateful to him for agreeing to do it -I have had a lot of very nice comments about it from people

  • r.i.p!

  • Rest in peace and thank you for the great music!

  • RIP Mike - such a shame the accident happened, and that it happened so near to my home

    Rest in peace

  • RIP

  • He still looks like an extremely talented garden gnome.

  • Wonderful to hear more from you Mike about you. Thank you so much to Martin Kinch for shedding more light .

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Ask Mel - did he and Hugh know in advance that they were being axed from the lineup in 1979? How did they feel? And are he and Hugh actually playing cello on all of FTM ANWR and OOTB. (I know Mel plays piano on Wild West Hero) Thank you thank you thank you in anticipation!!!!!

  • Hello Martin. Remember me? I'll give you a clue: Bev Bevan's satin tour jacket. Well mate, anybody that can track down the elusive Mike Edwards can surely find Lord Lucan.

  • 2:22 - Cellos for 3 year-olds - also known as violins, LMAO!!!

  • Great interview, Martin. What a coup. How about tracking that renegade, Hugh McDowell down. I'd love to hear from him about his ELO days. Did you know you can create a playlist so all these parts will play consequtively?

  • Glad you enjoyed it Paul, Yep Hugh would be good - hopefully one day I will be able to do more like this with people like Hugh etc .

  • wouldn't be so cool to have all living musicians who played or recorded music as or for ELO reunite on one stage for at least one night.

  • That would be a TREMENDOUS thing ,can you imagine it? it really would be like an Orchestra then

  • I hope Jeff Lynne sends him at least a christmas card once a year.

  • A fascinating interview...and a really nice man. Bless him!!:):)

  • Very interesting, I liked those three albums, he played on, a great performer. Never saw him play live, was only 7 in 1973.

  • ELO's second album ELO ll, On The Third Day, and Eldorado.

Those albums, is where you can hear the Mike Edwards Cello.

  • An interview with Melvyn Gale would be great too. Any chance? Thanks for this one anyway. Very interesting stuff.

  • If I can track him down and he agrees to do it, I'd be happy to :-)

    Glad you like this one

  • Yes, an interview with Melvyn Gale would be wonderful. Thanks for getting Mike Edwards.

  • Interview with Melvin Gale coming soon on my website (wont be on Youtube though)

  • Is there a specific reason why it won't be on Youtube? I have been curious about Melvyn's story and what ever became of him for years. I haven't even seen a picture of him since the video shoot for Discovery.
