My mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer. I'm turning 14 in May. I'm still growing up, and I don't want to lose my mom! Who will teach all the things I will need for my future life? Who will be there for me through ever day? I know God can perform miracles! My mother will be going through surgery in a couple of days/weeks. (idk) But I pray to God everyday and night so she could survive. I need her! Without her I wouldn't be here today! I love you Mama! <3
A few days ago, my friend's mother passed away after battling cancer. She fought for four years and unfortunately lost. I never met her before, but I went to her open-coffin wake tonight, to pay my respects to my friend's family, and saw what the cancer did to her. I saw so many pictures of her and saw that she was such a beautiful woman, and I know she was strong. After seeing her in her coffin, I would never wish anything like that on my worst enemy. Rest In Peace Lisa, you will be missed. <3
My Grandmother died from breast cancer, even after getting a masectomy. We miss her every day. We had one scare with my Mom when her doctor found a lump in her breast. For 2 weeks we feared the diagnosis of breast cancer. But to our relief it was just some calcification and scar tissue from an accident. I havent gone to get a mammogram either and dont know if I will considering my circumstances. I'm glad you got yours and it was fine! God bless, Nancy
My mom died too from breast cancer she was 37 years old I was a week shy of four. Its so hard to grow up with out a mom . I hope when I become a mom(soon I hope) that I'm just as good as a mother as you are. It will mean so much to me to have that role in my life.
I've already watched this video when it was uploaded, but 20 minutes ago I received a call saying that my mom is in the hospital and may have breast cancer. I'm anxiously awaiting the call with the results, or even just a call from my mom in general, but I just wanted to say that this video is one of the first things that I thought of, and it's really helping me a lot, even though I don't know the results yet. This helps me realize that no matter what, everything will be okay.

oh wow kaitilette, i realize how hard it can be to get a mammogram when someone in your family has had it. my aunt (by marriage) recently got a double mastectomy after her first mammogram after putting it off for two years. congratulations!

However, it isn't only cancer that are killers - so I think it would be unfair to only give publicity to cancer, while there are many more diseases that are deathly too. And if all the cancers should have publicity, I think all other deathly diseases should have publicity too. But then again, how many deathly diseases are there .. and which should get more publicity. I don't think you're not thinking about the whole picture.
I am sorry for your loss. My mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and passed 4 days after...that was 4 years ago and it still feels like it just happened. Thanks for sharing your story Katilette, together we can win against cancer!

But I absolutely love my mum, she's an incredible person and I can't believe she's stuck with me, especially in my moody teenager years as of late. Hi Colette, I think it's really great that you made this video. You see, I've got 50% chance to have breast cancer, and I don't really know how to cope with it. I don't know what'll happen when I'm older, what will happen in the following years, if it hurts, etc. I've been growing up (I'm 16) with the fact that I could've breast cancer, so I'm used to the idea, but I never really thought of it like what happens when I've got it etc.. --Just wanted to share this with you, don't really know why :)

Im ONLY 19(still a kid & live with my parents), healthy thin 115lb & way 2 young 2 get BC but even if your 2 young its good 2 do self examinations, i do. a week ago i noticed a lump, friday i got an ultasound done & i have a NONCANCEROUS TUMOR that can increase my chance for BC when im older. i encourage women of all ages 2 self examine & stay healthy. thankyou MT for the inspiration:)!

One of my best friends mums died of breast cancer when we were about 8 or 9. She was a wonderful woman who everyone loved and when she passed it was a very emotional time even though I we all knew what was coming I didn't quite understand it then. But now, looking back on it, it's very sad. I guess this is my way of saying you and your sisters are not alone. Loads of people have had the same expeirence and I feel for you. Lots of love xxxx

I know that most of the cases of breast cancer are in women but there are also cancers of this type in men and they should be cautioned not to ignore abnormalities in their breasts just because they are make. Both my parents had cancer and my mom died from hers (colon) and my dad survived kidney cancer that was also in his sorta , sadly he was murdered 2yrs later. Thank you for giving me that push I need

You and your family are such an inspiration to me!!! My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago and she lost her battle with it on September 6th after it spread to her bones, lymphatic system and brain. Thank you to you and your sisters for trying to raise awareness for this awful disease!!!

my mum was daignosed with breast cancer a couple years ago, but i feel bad because i wasnt really old enough to understand the impact that it had on her life.
thankfully today she is completely cancer free. yay!
she always ignores any kind of charity or awareness program because she doesnt like to think about it much, but i definitely think that people should do everything they can to help out.

oh wow kaitilette, i realize how hard it can be to get a mammogram when someone in your family has had it. my aunt (by marriage) recently got a double mastectomy after her first mammogram after putting it off for two years. congratulations!

@DandyStranger I understand what you are saying. However, it isn't only cancer that are killers - so I think it would be unfair to only give publicity to cancer, while there are many more diseases that are deathly too. And if all the cancers should have publicity, I think all other deathly diseases should have publicity too. But then again, how many deathly diseases are there .. and which should get more publicity. I don't think you're not thinking about the whole picture.

I am sorry for your loss. My mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and passed 4 days after...that was 4 years ago and it still feels like it just happened. Thanks for sharing your story Katilette, together we can win against cancer!

Men can get breast cancer too. It would be great if you said something about that :). My grandfather passed away from breast cancer and I've had a lot of men and women argue with me that men can't get breast cancer.

You're just a beautiful person. I've been lucky enough to not lose a loved one (touch wood) to Breast cancer or any other cancer. But I absolutely love my mum, she's an incredible person and I can't believe she's stuck with me, especially in my moody teenager years as of late. I couldn't possibly think of how I'd feel if I lost her to breast cancer.
Don't ever forget the love your viewers have for you, and the appreciation of what you and your sisters are doing. <3

Hi MommyTard, I came across Dr. Mercola website an article named "Slash your breast cancer risk:Remove the real cause". women under 55 who regularly get mammographs, have 29% greater risk of Cancer. Hi Colette, I think it's really great that you made this video. You see, I've got 50% chance to have breast cancer, and I don't really know how to cope with it. I don't know what'll happen when I'm older, what will happen in the following years, if it hurts, etc. I've been growing up (I'm 16) with the fact that I could've breast cancer, so I'm used to the idea, but I never really thought of it like what happens when I've got it etc.. --Just wanted to share this with you, don't really know why :)

congrats on your mamo:) theres no hist of breast cancer in my fam but cancers weird & sometimes just appears. Im ONLY 19(still a kid & live with my parents), healthy thin 115lb & way 2 young 2 get BC but even if your 2 young its good 2 do self examinations, i do. a week ago i noticed a lump, friday i got an ultasound done & i have a NONCANCEROUS TUMOR that can increase my chance for BC when im older. i encourage women of all ages 2 self examine & stay healthy. thankyou MT for the inspiration:)!

One of my best friends mums died of breast cancer when we were about 8 or 9. She was a wonderful woman who everyone loved and when she passed it was a very emotional time even though I we all knew what was coming I didn't quite understand it then. But now, looking back on it, it's very sad. I guess this is my way of saying you and your sisters are not alone. Loads of people have had the same expeirence and I feel for you. Lots of love xxxx

I know that most of the cases of breast cancer are in women but there are also cancers of this type in men and they should be cautioned not to ignore abnormalities in their breasts just because they are make. My mother also died after an 8 year battle with breast cancer but my grandfather survived after a mastectomy for the same diagnosis. Thanks for your contribution.
