  • So there is no way in transforming a usdm 2.5 rs into a 22b?

  • Are 22B's common in Australia?

  • @BBSroll nope :(

  • rude man. here in NZ we get all the lush Jap models

  • Very informative vid Brett, keep 'em coming matey :)

  • @vimmeh thanks

  • I didn't know how different the 22B was other then it being 2 door, thanks!

  • I love these demonstrations. Thanks for doing this ! I can learn alot !

  • @fristi1994 thanks for your feedback, please fwd on your comments to help other people

  • That was outstanding. Really enjoyed it. Excellent information and presentation Brett.

  • @tubefac3 thanks

  • I thought it had a VF23 turbo.

  • @snoboarder8232 hjmm I have to check my data, but I dont think so

  • VF23 same as every v3 STI

  • @snoboarder8232

Yes it did dcome with a VF23.

  • I really like your videous about scoobys, great work!

  • @SImasLFS thanks

  • The jap spec Ver 5 type R does have the center dif control. intercooler spray etc ... , Nice 22B well looked after

  • interesting video, one for sale near me in ireland

  • great video! I've been in one of the NZ models was awesome. unsure why your 99 sti doesn't have 2pots?an no i/c water spray? my 95sti has a i/c spray an 96onwards have 4pots an 2pots? or is that just the JDM imports?

  • @burrowssj thats JDM imports only as you said........

  • Great videos, useful cause I just bought number 330,will be checking out ur sites, thanks again.

  • @MrCucullen1979 thanks for your feedback :)

  • My favorite Impreza remains the STi Version I Type RA. 600, hand-built. 0-60 in well under 5 s.

  • @HurpDurr thanks for your feedback

  • @Brettmiddleton Thanks for the walk-around!

  • Brett, like your useful vid. What's your view on the P1 impreza (2000-2001) model - a UK based prodrive STI?

  • @scooberue we never got that car here as it was a "local" UK model. It does have a EcuTeK enhanced ECU I would assume based on UK roads the condition must be a little average these days with rust etc?

  • @Brettmiddleton. Suprisingly not, all 1000 P1 models made were weather protected. I've got one of the first which is now 10 years old and in mint condition. 280BHP, 0-60mph in 4.6sec and limited to 155mph - standard settings. The only other two subaru's I'd ever consider would be the 22B or another UK limited edition - (Richard Burns) RB320. Keep up the good work!

  • @scooberue great news and glad re your info. thanks for the feedback as well! :)

  • @scooberue I got a 10 year old P1 but it's not standard! It's running 346bhp and power delivery is spot on. Was gonna part ex it a few weeks bk for an R33 GTR but the oil pressure was fucked so didn't bother with it! The RB320 is a nice choice but what about the WR1? 0-100 in 10.8 where the RB320 takes 12.2. I drove 1 last week at a track event and they understeer alot more than the P1 does, well all the new models do dont they. Has yours had a re-build?

  • who the fuck disliked this video?

  • @GuruMarv my thoughts exactly!

  • @GuruMarv yeah, thought the same thing!! :(

  • That was professional overview. I think some of the owners of 2doors subarus are now really unhappy that they got a false 22B :D

    Thanks,

    Subaruholic.

  • @elvisGT thanks for your feedback

  • Thank you! Very nice.

  • @bogdanfmx thanks

  • Why are Australian imports so watered down??? My type R STI had a water sprayer, DCCD, Big breaks, No ABS and a VF23 all standard as a rock. When I visisted AUST last year my mate brought a non sti wrx and it was weak as piss. He said it was the Aust version and had smaller turbo and I think the injectors were tighter. Whats up with that. Oh and he paid an absolute fortune for it too. In Aust the price of ricers is rediculas!!!!!!!!! Plus stamp duty etc.

  • @Primetome its waht we are used to as the (genuine) Australian importers and manufacturers have a pretty tight hold on the market

  • @Brettmiddleton So they make them expensive and gutless?

  • @Primetome ohhh, I think thats a bit tough! :)

  • mannn i want the seats from the White Subaru.

  • Brilliant overview of the cars! Nice to see a clean set of cars!

  • @ek4turbo thanks

  • @ek4turbo thanks

  • I want an 22b so badly. I`ve been droolin over it since I saw it first time in Gran Turismo 2.

  • @DStylesHanska if you or anybody wants one e-mail us we can source and supply

  • @Brettmiddleton The thing is, I live in Finland.. :P Thanks for the offer, though

  • @DStylesHanska still can do, we have one on order for another country as well!

  • This car was great my friend had one. Awesome power and handling. Very fast car. A real head turner. Excellent. Went like shit off a shovel.

  • @kmp3000 thanks for your feedback

  • Glad to see an actual in depth video on a car for once, love how he goes through the details like the lack of abs and the leg bolsters, very nice stuff, now if I could just find one about the R34 GTR

  • @gmanBNR34 thanks! :)

  • What was the reason for not including ABS? Surely they could have re-located it somewhere else instead of giving up because of the intercooler reservoir... Was it just because of the 'driving experience' of no abs that they didn't put it in?

  • @Precisionstonemaul

    I dont know

  • most japanese manufacturers believe that track cars dont need abs. this saves weight and also gets the driver in touch with the car (with locking up and more direct feel). if u check cars like the honda type Rs, u will notice that they have no abs as well.

  • @Precisionstonemaul ABS was not stad on the MY98 Imporeza and the 22b was based on that model

  • thx for uload :) nice vid

  • @czokolokoman

    thanks

  • ohhh 22b is the car i dream about having one day. Just one serious question: is it possible to put the steering wheel to the left side? i mean to make it for a right side driving (europe). Sorry for my english.

  • Thx dude nice . I like it :)

  • my jap 2dr sti has c.diff control and electric mirrors, same steering wheel and i/c auto/manual spray.been the most reliable car ive had.highly recomend.

  • good Investment

i read the australian version may be worth a million whithin 20 years,

unfortunatley not a daily driver :(

what do you recomend as a dailey thats bang for your buck? thanx

  • a 1991-4 Legacy Sport Sedan :3 VERY similar vehicle :3

  • Very useful video :) I really wanted to see the 22b a bit closer. Thanx for uploading m8 :P

  • Is the wheelhouse bigger in the 22b or are all the same?

  • yes the wheel TRACK is bigger (wider)

  • I am trying to buy a 2 door STI 98-00. I want the wider body like the 22b but do not want to make an exact replica. if I were to buy a regular sti like the white one how could i get a bigger wheel base?

iam buying a 2.5L with a cosed deck. want to have this 22b body with a new engine. what would I have to replace?

  • There is no 22 body its a sti with wider wheels and modified fenders etc

  • Wow,lot of good info I never knew,thanks !

  • thanks

  • superb video.

  • thanks!

  • thanks for sharing. i didnt realised that the Australia 2 door STI has been water down that much. its very common to see the JDM version here in NZ with the DCCD gearbox and water sprayer (which is ever hardly used) and the rear 2 pot breaks.

one advantage that the ADM has are the speedo, while the JDM are 180km/h ones. what turbo does it (ADM) come with?

  • If i remember correctly the turbo is a VF29

  • Cracking video, thanks for sharing

  • thanks, be sure to pass this link onto your freinds

    Brett

  • Forget passing it on i dont want people to know about this sexy machine, haha it is in my favorite though. Next - talk to us about the 2.5rs gc8 US. version 2000 model. Later Brett an seriously think about it..

  • Prob is to do a Video of the US model is awkward as we dont have the very same model here!

    :(

  • similarities cant spell haha, arnt the same? Besides the right hand drive..

  • Great video

  • thanks!

  • Good work. great coverage
