I loved the movie simply because it makes a point about God loving everyone. It doesn't matter who you are or what you do...he loves you. The problem with the movie is that it doesn't quite get to the part when he loves you enough to not let you stay that way.

I was born in Eastern Europe. You cannot even figure how much damage is doing there Christianity! In an area covered by a harsh communist dictatorship, people used to have little exposure to religion. The first religious agents who came (to Romania, to Moldova) were hard-core southern baptists, very close to the Church of Westboro, to Fred Phelps' ideas.

@48acar19 - I'm not saying that religions do not have a power base and that power base is often responsible for bigotry and homophobia, however there are plenty of good people who are not bigoted and are not homophobic but who are members of the Christian, Moslem and Jewish communities. My point is that even if there were no religions there would still be homophobic bigots.

Whatever you are saying about non-bigoted religionists sounds great, but the truth is that over 99.9% of the Muslims are more that bigots and the majority of fundamentalists Christians are similar.

Read both the Old Testament (where homosexuals are being killed according to both Leviticus and deuteronomy, and "their blood should fall upon them' (in their languages the old Jews are saying that the culprits are exactly the homosexuals and not the killers) and in New Testament, where St Paul is saying that "the men who are burning for other men" (that means the homosexuals) will be punished with the eternal damnation to hell.

The Christians that are not homophobic are not really obeying the bible. They have invented thir own religion. When Christianity was invented in the ancient world, it was the only homophobic religion besides Judaism (from which it derives).

Prayers for Bobby will make you weep for humanity. How with all the reasoning used of imaginary beliefs to bring so much hate and pain to gain control of their society and condemn each other. And maybe, just maybe there are some Bobbies out there who will be able to live a full and happy life and bring joy to others, if only the veil of hatred stoked by ignorance can be lifted just ever so little. EVERYONE should see this movie and look within and ask yourself, Where can I change this story?

I'm 44 and have been out for 26 years, and I can tell you whole heartedly it will be okay. All of you hang in there. Talk to PFLAG, find a support group, and then worry about the rest after. Have a network of people in place, and feel good about where you are before trying to come out to the family if you can. HRC and others can also help you.

I'm not gay, but I completly support gay rights adn everything.

This movie made me cry so bad.

When he jumped off the bridge, and at the end when the mom is in the parade and she hugs the guy that looks like Bobby.

homophobia is a horribe thing.

I also reccomend the movie to anyone and everyone.

I came out 2 weeks ago to my family. Everyone except my mother supports me 100%. They were great. Especially my son. When I went to tell him, I froze up and couldn't talk. He said, what's wrong Dad, tell me now. Finally I did, and he said no big deal, no problem, why didn't you tell me a long time ago?.......cont....

I was shocked at how awesome he was. I told him what a great son he is, and he said, you and mom made me that way. I had all I could do not to burst out crying. After, I was so releived. When I told my brother, he said, I am gay too.

I watched the movie 3 times when it came on Lifetime and cried SOOOOOOO hard every time. I think the part that made me cry the most (happy cries though) was the end when she hugged the boy :) But I was pretty much a mess through the whole time. Hehe.
