He was becoming one of my favorite artists next to Cage, Sage Francis, and Atmosphere but something about his death made me want to salvage his music the same way you value a painter's works more after they've passes. Eyedea was so much more than I could describe or what things can be described are limited. He was too gifted for this life. I hope he's at peace in the afterlife.

His lyrics are so in touch with the human consciousness, and when he started his career hip hop was turning into glamor crap. It went from ganstar rap to materialistic nonsense and I'm sure this turned eye's stomach.

Looks like Minnewiki is not quite as reliable as the original Wiki (or several other links I found on Google whilst doing my homework). Minnewiki, for example, states: "As of this writing, a cause of death has not been determined."

Cause of death was released November 18, 2010 and ruled an accident, from opiate toxicity, according to the Ramsey County medical examiner's office. The specific drugs found in Larsen's system have not been revealed to the public."

I'm not just jocking his beats from a couch after the fact. I also happen to know his mother, and why he passed. We even once had the same girlfriend. This conversation is over!

Mike Averill is a man of shifting identities. Known over the years as “Little Mikey,” “Oliver Hart,” “Eyedea” and as a collaborator with multiple underground hip-hop groups including Face Candy and Sage Francis, Averill is in a constant flux of creative energies and personas.
@theh8te Alright, since I've managed to find out that his mother is one Kathy Averill, you may be right - he probably used both names, although MA may have been his original name. Thanks.
