Before you bitch, please realize that 405 lbs for 15 reps is a lot of freaking weight. I'd like to see some of you deadlift 405 for one rep with your "perfect" form :)
To everyone bitching about touch and go he is also doing SLDL's pretty much which usually allow one to lift less weight than conventional due to lack of leg drive. So in all reality I'm sure he could do this either way (though if he's trying to do regular deadlifts he should work more on resetting the weight and lifting with his legs).
@pking4lifely what do you mean his grip is wrong? this is called a hook grip and whilst it is harder to grip the bar with this grip, it reduces the chance of tearing your bicep. do some research before criticising a guy who is clearly a lot stronger and experienced than you.
How tall are you? Im 6ft, and my deadlifts arent nearly as fluid or smooth as that. (To anyone else I know about momentum, and dont care, his first lift was smooth)
idk why people bitch about touching and going, if he wants to do reps consecutively then go ahead, its 400 pds for 15. just give him props or dont comment. not every one is trying to be a professional power lifter
@bull3441 Heck Yeah I love doing that. My grip gives out at around 13-15........with bouncy cheating reps like this I can get in the mid 20's now. But I will say that this gives me an incredible feel. And it's usually after I've gone for a heavy 1-4 rep range set.
@bull3441 What difference does it make if you need to use straps? As you get heavier and heavier, you wrists are going to give out before your back. Who says 'Well, I can't grip it anymore so I guess I can't go heavier.'? If your grip gives out before your back, you're an idiot to give up instead of just giving your wrist some extra support.
Mostly bodybuilding...I just did the Natural Northern USAs in Cleveland on Oct 2nd........but I will probably do a few powerlifting meets in the future.
Did you try standing on a plate or two to get extra depth at the lower end of the motion?? I find it works great (but yes I don't lift nowhere near as much as you, just sayin tho).
I remember when I couldn't even pull 405........wasn't too long ago really...maybe 3 years or so. ....and I've just gotten better over time and it's become one of my strongest lifts...if not the strongest.
@mlippelt I was going for 15....I'll rep to absolute failure and see what I can get...I know it was starting to get heavy around 14, 15...but maybe that's cause I knew the end was coming.
Dam bro I just did 315 for one rep and I am tired as hell. I hope I could get like this in the near future.

I mean impressive I guess but you don't really go low enough in terms of bending your knees

@AMos050 What difference does it make? He's concentrating the deadlift on his back rather than his legs, that just makes it harder.

i do mine differently. I stop after every rep, reset and go again. I'm not in a race, and I'm not doing DL for conditioning so speed is needed.

where did u get those straps from those look a lot eaiser to use
Darkstar2520 1 year ago
@Darkstar2520 Those are the Pro series "Versa Gripps." They're a bit more expernsive, but once you get used to them, you'll never go back.
