  • Nice shot, was 3985 still a coal burner in 84?

  • @jay600katana Yes she was. Love that loco.

  • wow, I got a thumbs down on this video but no negative comment?

  • If you contact me by email, I'll show you around the shop myself. I have a key. :-)

  • Thanks Jim,

Not sure when I'm going to be back out there...but when I

    do I'll let you know.

  • @844jim Hi Jim,

Were going to take Amtrak to Denver this June. Renting a car and driving around the western states. Maybe I will be in Wyoming. Offer still stand?

  • @dreambuilders48808 There have been some changes in the UP Steam program, maybe you've heard. I don't have the key to the roundhouse any more but you can make arrangements by emailing upsteam@upsteam.com to see if and when they are giving tours. When Steve Lee retired, a number of things changed.

  • HaloCe14 did you see my other video of UP 3985

    in the snow???

  • My friend Brian just got hired in at U.P. in the last year I

think. I'm hoping that he will show me around the shop

sometime when I get out there again.

  • Hey Bro, That was a fun trip.

  • Thanks.

I shot this in 1984 on videotape. I can't remember the

exact spot...close to sherman hill I think. My friend

Brian Baron was out there with me and I think my

brother. Drove a 1973 IH Scout out into the

Ames monument area. We waited for a few hours.

We were alone, nobody around for miles....

It made for an awesome shot.
