It sucks turbo died, and mazda said it was lack of maintanance so they won't cover, even though it was serviced in a mazda dealer all along. A lot of people have that issue with gunk buildup because of the turbo, and they won't take responsibility for bad design, 3k later its fixed and getting rid of it soon! Screw mazda!

I'm trying to decide between the Mazda CX-7, Audi A3 and the Nissan Murano. I drive between 17-22,000 miles per year and most are highway miles. I don't need to seat more then 4 or 5 people. Gas mileage is important but reliability is probably a little more important. I'm used to driving an 8 cylinder Grand Cherokee but I don't have any problem driving something smaller and less powerfull providing the engine can take the miles I will put on it. Any help or advice is appreciated!
@Vanrocco66 VW Jetta Wagon TDI is better than any of the things you've listed. 40mpg on the highway, endless reliability, great looks and a fun drive, especially with the six speed manual. I highly, highly recommend it.
@lupischuckle "VW reliability", now isn't that an oxymoron. VW is the only car company that every single mechanic unilaterally hates to work on, yes that even includes VW mechanics. I just had a 2004 VW passat wagon die in my parking lot. Some stupid electrical wire in the steering wheel cost my client almost $800!! There is nothing easy or cheap to fix on VW and that's the way VW's are deliberately designed. If it wasn't for diesel ppl in U.S. wouldn't give VW time of day.
@NuSpain Don't know what to tell you. I drove a Golf to 400,000km with no issues before trading it in for my current Jetta. My parents still have their '75 Westfalia with nearly 800,000km, and everyone I've talked to has experienced similar success. I do most of the work on my cars myself, and yes, they can be difficult, but for me, difficult hasn't translated into unreliable. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I have to fall back on my own experiences here. For me VWs are reliable.
@lupischuckle. I've met several ppl from the EUand they swear by VW. The main reason is for your quality control, warranty laws and their built in the E.U. The Jetta/Golf in the states are built in Puebla Mexico. Like other VW plants in Latin America (i.e. Brazil) they were originally designed to assemble the simple and cheap Bug from 60yrs ago. VW builds in Mex b/c it's cheaper to build/ship to US, than builid/ship from China. Sad to say the Quality isn't anywhere near EU/US.
Nice cross over but what is it with that funky dash and already dialed dials? What is wrong with the classical two round dials for speedometer and tachometer as in CX9?
All cars generally have the same outlook design regardless of which country they are exported, except there maybe slight different in the accessories to suit the climate in the respective country.
Go for Either Audi Q7, or BMW X5, I am shortlisting this 2 cars at the moment .... hahaha !

I also have a 2009 turbo with AWD in Montreal snow and it's the best car I ever bought. Toyota brakes suck and it handles way better than a RAV4.
