Perhaps they just mean the player has more freedom in the order they do things? Perhaps instead of the game following a linear route, you can play through the game and choose to do dungeons / side-quests / interactions as and when you like? Obviously I have no idea if that's what they mean, it could mean something entirely different... either way, I sure hope it works out very well!

It doesn't matter if you do though. Miyamoto has had the entire Legend of Zelda Timeline or story or however you want to call it, completed for years. Ever since OoT they've been writing the "Great Zelda Story" and how it should all pan out. They know the outcome, and most likely wouldn't change it cause of you.

The Legend of Zelda was inspired by Miyamoto when he was a child. Miyamoto used to explore the forest surrounding his house, and would find caves and ditches and such, which later on, he wanted to transfer the feeling of exploration to video games.

It's about time that they change the "total flow of the game." I'm a Zelda series fan, and I've been feeling that kinda bored of the transition of the game. Like, "oh, here we go again..another dungeon..and another..and another." Would be nice if they added more citizen quest, instead of locating bugs, hearts..etc.

I think he answered the question pertaining to remaking old Zelda games (OoT, obviously), very well. He's completely correct in that an emotional attachment plays a huge role our adoration of the game, and could easily be destroyed by a remake. For example: take Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. While they were very successful in the port, I don't think they quite captured the emotional attachment to Red/Blue. Nostalgia must factor into it a huge amount, and I'm content with OoT original, myself.

Miyamoto's version of realistic is not in trolls and elves, but in how motivated and grasped you get my the game, and that it really makes you feel like Link. That is probably one of the reasons the next game might be in first person.

I HATE phantom hourglass and spirit tracks! The style is just ugly. Wind Waker has a beautiful traditional japanese style, but the style of the DS zelda's is ugly because of the contraptions. Majora's Mask is the best!

Dude... calm down, there isn't that much difference between the gamecube and wii version. It's not like they force you to stand up when you enter battle and do full motion swings. All you have to do is sit on the couch, flick your wrist, and aim at the screen for any items you need to aim with.
Motion control did not kill zelda at all, Twilight Princes still controlled strongly.
I think the only reason the new Zelda is taking so long to make is that Miyamoto wants to build the game from the ground up, dumping some ideas he used in OoT, MM and TP. Because while it was fun for its time, I think the next Zelda chapter needs to be really revolutionary!! He could always play it safe and make it play exactly the same way and answer the cravings of moaning fans, but I think he will surprise us!! At least SMG set a new standard for platforming to me, best platformer ever!!
For me wind waker is the best zelda game. The feeling of mass adventure into the unknown and magical characters and a twisting story make the perfect zelda game, much like a fairytale which zelda basicaly is.
its hard to tell if you were being sarcastic, but i loved teh boat riding. There were a zillion hidden little gems such as islands, mystereis, other boats, characters and chests to find you could spend days on a couple of unchareted islands working out the extra mysteries of it.

Majora's Mask tried to be different, but that was the last game they decided to experiment with and that was 9 years ago.

i love the zelda franchise as these guys have never fail to meet my expectation . but nintendo really fucked up this generation for providing them with what essentially is an updated version of the cube . from the developer stand point , you always want to make a better game , bigger , prettier game so that the player will feels more immersive in the game .those deny the importance of graphic in video games are fools . it's "video" game for godsake . but i believe they wont fail me anytime soon.

well im kinda true. if you look at it microsoft has barely any exclusives not to mention poor desing like the red ring of death. i mean come on at E3 microsofts big deal was COD Modern Warfare 2 which is on the PS3 and PC, Left 4 Dead 2 which is on the PC, and Halo 3 ODST which is pretty much the same as Halo 3 but with a few more ups. I have a PS3 and Wii. II like the wii more they have Mario, Zelda, and Metroid and a ton more. PS3 has MGS, Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet and so much more

the fact is in your statement you can find another opinion. nobody cares that much for ratchet and clank and mgs is dieing as a game and is a fail the more games they make. the wii has a couple good games but as a whole no hard core gamers games the meer fact that yes you get games that also for aother consoles doesnt matter cause all that means is that u get a larger veriaity and no that console only gay games that only a few really like any why and microsoft hast those games too.

They own the rights to everything Zelda so you have just as much chance of seeing a Mario game made on the XBox or PS3 as you do with Zelda.

So the new Zelda games.. I'd rip the developers balls off.. Screw motion controlled Zelda games. MY Childhood was ALL Zelda, From Ocarina of Time, to The Windwaker. All these new ones are HORRIBLE. Twilight Princess was great..BUT ONLY ON THE GAMECUBE. Motion controll KILLED Zelda.

Dude... calm down, there isn't that much difference between the gamecube and wii version. It's not like they force you to stand up when you enter battle and do full motion swings. All you have to do is sit on the couch, flick your wrist, and aim at the screen for any items you need to aim with.
Motion control did not kill zelda at all, Twilight Princes still controlled strongly.

I think the only reason the new Zelda is taking so long to make is that Miyamoto wants to build the game from the ground up, dumping some ideas he used in OoT, MM and TP. Because while it was fun for its time, I think the next Zelda chapter needs to be really revolutionary!! He could always play it safe and make it play exactly the same way and answer the cravings of moaning fans, but I think he will surprise us!! At least SMG set a new standard for platforming to me, best platformer ever!!

For me wind waker is the best zelda game. The feeling of mass adventure into the unknown and magical characters and a twisting story make the perfect zelda game, much like a fairytale which zelda basicaly is.

its hard to tell if you were being sarcastic, but i loved teh boat riding. There were a zillion hidden little gems such as islands, mystereis, other boats, characters and chests to find you could spend days on a couple of unchareted islands working out the extra mysteries of it.

I think they should have way more involvement from the other races like Goron, Deku, and Zora. :/ Having just one area with them is a bit of a drag.

Ugh...Zelda OOT is the best in my opinion, still though they need another game like that and no Twilight Princess doesn't cut it, Twilight Princess was ruined due to the wolf. Just another amazing game like OOT or a remake of it with more to it at least...

they need to make a co-op zelda game that doesn't suck like 4 swords and have it on the wii like new super mario bros wii, with nes controls so people can jump in and out. they need to put in all the best weapons in it too like the fire rod and the deku leaf, light arrows, super spin attack, dins fire, megaton hammer etc. it would be sick and everyone would love it!
