i've just started fishing with my kayak..

i live in mauritius and i fish in the lagoon with a rapala behind.. i catch fish called ( batarde and capitaine and vielle but thats in french) i would like to go fishing bigger fish.. can someone suggest what bait i should use and what to do in general please :)

My friend, beside Dolphin or Mahi Mahi, in the spanish speaking countries they are called Dorado because of their color. Dorado means " the golden one".

Wahoo is like a big mackarel in Aust - definitely no relation to the dolphin fish. It depends where you are as to what these are called, but the only names I have heard for them all around the Pacific are dorado (US, eastern Pacific), mahi mahi (pretty much anywhere from Hawaii to the west, north west) and dolphing fish (SW Pacific, Australasia).

I fish out of my kayak and it is so much fun. You can use a kayak to get into shallow water back areas during floods to catch some really nice catfish. Never trolled with my kayak, so I'll have to give that a try for large bass in a local reservoir.
