i just dont see the point in making an elaborate launch with all these cameras and shit for such an uneventful launch, not to mention they had no clue what they were doing.
that white girl is counting down like omg 9 like 8 like 7 like 6 like 5 omg like 4 omfg 3 omfgd 2 ooommmggggg 1 like mmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!like like that was cool!!!!!!!
You need a bigger motor. There is a computer program you could of used to simulate the launch. It's called RockSim. You should not fly unless you have a 5 to 1 thrust to weight ratio.
I launched a Saturn V like that in the 70's with a cluster of 5 C6-5 engines. Amazingly, they all fired. The problem was the launch pad was not stable enough and it tilted and launched at a 45 degree angle toward our school. Thankfully, it landed safely in the grass between two buildings.
Needs more propellant. About four time more. that or a longer rail. Otherwise its own weight makes it veer off course before it gets up to speed and gets straightened by air.
these fins are way to small, you should either try to make them bigger, or if you don't want to ruin the scale, add some weight towards the nose, it moves the center of gravity um and you get a more stable flight.. also use a more powerful engine, this one just isn't enough
It's a real motherfucker making the main stabilizer fins on the bottom aint it?! Lots of fine cutting and sanding as each one is TWO pieces! It took me(on and off) about three months to complete it. I think a friend of mine might have had the Interceptor but not sure! I'm eventually gonna make all my own motors and buy materials in bulk! Sorry for being so rude...but I was just sayin' I myself would NEVER launch mine in wind like that. If you can build that kit your definately NOT an idiot!
Man I made this same Estes kit and it took forever...no room for errors or your fucked! It had all kinds of special construction specs and lots of finishing work with flimsey decals! There is no way I would launch it in wind like that! These douches didn't care because they did not put in the time to actually MAKE something! IDIOTS!
Sorry you feel that way. We have built many of these rockets and we had no choice but to launch on that date. If fact I have built them since 1974. When did you start. Do you remember the interceptor?
LAME!!! TOTALLY LAME!!! NASA does use ammonium perchlorate as the fuel oxidizer for the SRB, but Aerotech WhiteLightning and the SRB fuel are completely different all they have in common is the bright white flame ,white smoke, the fuel oxidizer ammonium perchlorate.
Hey Rocket Man. I guess I should have been more specific. For the general viewer, using AP and similar bonding agents is close enough. Your right, the fuels are not exactly the same, but the theory and manufacturing process is very similar. Lame, totally Lame is a bit strong when referring to a group who put up thousands of dollars to dedicate a bike to the Apollo program.

Great looking rocket, pity about the wind.
Only comment - looks like an Estes Black Powder motor used - not AP. Nothing like used in the Shuttle SRBs
