  • I did not see any differance between the two dogs while waiting at the register. To my eyes both dogs are well behaved. The no sniffing part I do not agree with, some dogs are trained to sniff, to sniff what sets off an asthma attack to the owner. Your service dog is allowed to to go with you where ever as long as it is not a nuisances and excessivly barks.

  • @AvatarSandS I think they don't want the dogs to sniff because they're worried that the sniffing would distract them. That's of course not true with every dog, but the puppy I'm training has a problem with it. A lot of these service animals organizations are super strict about dog behavior and will take them out of the program for things like "excessive sniffing".

  • The food on the ground is the hardest one to teach but it can be done. My Ni was a street dog first, then my pet, which I got for both companionship & my fear of sleeping because of a rare sleep disorder. Then I found out she was smarter than a whip & desided to train her for search & resue but when I found out that I qualified for a service animal because of my Idiopathic Hypersomnia with Long Sleep Time.

  • @jlp6869 I was thrilled & worried about addition training but she has learned a lot over this 1st year or so I've had her as a service animal. We still have issues with not greeting everyone & leaving food but we are working hard on it & most of the time... she doesn't even notice... Now it's so rare to have her do this, well except on the dog food isle but that is to be expected. lol! However, she still does very well there too! I do believe etiquette is important! Thanks for posting!

  • 0:22 omg I swear I thought the dog starting peeing LOL...Good vid though

  • Great video. I have to tighten up my SD's service dog skills. I prefer to have him off leash so he needs to have a higher standard.

  • Great video! I wish I had stumbled upon it sooner!

Out of curiosity, what is the age difference between the two dogs?

  • @TeamPDPM i wondered also because one of the dogs def looks and acts younger.

  • Was this just an example vid? I would have never let the leash out to let the dog think it was ok in the first place. It will be harder to train it out of that dog.

  • my dog is kinda hit miss with his public etiquette. in good situations where he's previously gotten exercise and is in a place we've been before he's always perfect, but if we meet neither of those he acts a fool.

  • If I may ask, since this video (for me) didn't have any sound...are you using verbal commands or ques for the good/improper behavior?

  • Is that first dog really going to become a service dog, because I would think that by that age it would have already mastered some obedience skills. If he is, don't give up, he might just turn out to be a star at service work. Great video, it's very informative!

  • oh my god that was so sweet the first one, he looked up wagged his tail almost said "iz sorry I still learning"

Love the tail tucks on the cash register! Great video!

  • Wow, wonderful! The first dog was SO naughty! And I hope that he gets hard core training if he is to become a SD. I don't think I would even take a dog out that acted like that out ever until they learn to leave food and smells and to heel better....

Cudos to the second dog for being so good!

  • @coolieosun he's obviously an SDIT, not a full SD yet.

  • Did you use Big Jake and Cheryl in that video?
