you don't need to drop back fast to be effective the dropback is about getting proper depth, ending up exactly where you are supposed to be(which is directly behind the center most of the time) and coming out of the drop balanced, with your feet under control. brady does that better than almost anyone. you can see in this tape that brady does not look like a world beater at 'qb drills'. but in a game, he does slow it down b/c you never chop your feet in a game like you do in a drill.

when you are in the pocket, always keep the ball right by your ear, but when you a re rolling out you need the ball lower so you can swing your arms
