Wow, my earliest memory. This is the very first song I can remember...my Grandma would sing it to me as a baby..wish I had a recording of her singing it before she died...thanks so much for the beautiful memories..didn't know about the "opera" line, just the chorus..
oh my goodness! i was trying to sing this to my great -nephew yesterday and forgot some of the words. i remember it from the days of cartoons that had song lyrics at the end and the narrator would say "follow the bouncing ball". what a memory jogger. thanks for the post!!
And silly me thought Disney created this for his tiki room, but then, I'm only 53 !
