It's a homage is not a good argument to defend that it isn't a ripoff. Homage or not, it still copies 95% of Zelda's aspects! This developer is shit because they can't make a good game without copying the ideas of another dev. It shows unoriginality and laziness.

When the creators admit that it's styled after zelda, and other 8 bit era games, and go so far as to include remade scenes of old nintendo classics on the load screens, to call it a rip-off is unfair. The developers have called it a 'love letter' to classic gaming, and I for one can wait to read it. If they made this game without admitting their love of and paying their respects to zelda then it'd be a ripoff.
