So you can use a cricket to measure temperature, and you can use boiling temperature to measure height, so what you do is, you get a cricket, chuck him in some water, and see how fast he's chirping when the water starts boiling. And then you know how high you are!

From what I heard he mentions the Trench then says OR off the coast of California, so he hasn't made any mistake, he was just mentioning two different area's that have a great sea bed depth.
