  • thumz up if u are a man watchin this

  • Thankyou!! I have long hair, but I love the 40's style, this really helped :)

  • This video made me happy!!!

  • Hola! Oh my Goodness I am so glad you put this video up! I was looking for a long time a 1930's hairstyle for long hair!! Please check out my channel!! Adios!

  • I love it, it really helped:)) thank you

  • I must say I am impressed. Nice job. Lovely hair!

  • Does the ponytail stay in there?

  • thing is what about it looking greasy-thank goodness my hair is already like that <3

  • I luv you Iris! I love Retro Hair. Ah....Thanks Doll

  • i'll never let go jack lol

  • Amazing! I wish I had someone to help me do this because I am not good with hair and I have two little ones that would be underfoot the whole time. Good stuff though.

  • Aaaaaarhhhhhhh! I can't do it! 5 hours now :( I will tyr again tomorrow, but I think the estimation of 10 minutes is way over...

your hair looks nice though...mine looks crap!

  • Very nice!

  • Why did it take Threadbanger so long to notice you? lol

  • @lexiconlover What do you mean?

  • @ilovegerardo Oh, I meant I thought this was a new video because my fav.channel "ThreadBanger" just added it to go along with their swinger costume how-to. So, I click on it and I realized I have watched this hair tutorial before. It's been a long time since I first watched it but I remember liking it and thinking it was a very well done video.

  • @lexiconlover Hmmm I went to check and I don't see my video on theirs... are you sure?

  • @ilovegerardo Corrin from ThreadBanger has her own channel now called CRAFTOVISION . Go there and select Featured Playlists, then 1920's flapper video then your video is included in a list next to that while the video is playing. You're like the tenth video down or so. Sorry for the confusion. And I was wondering why you are so curious about? Seems really important to ya!

  • @lexiconlover I am excited because I love her channel and I am happy that she watched my video :)

  • Why did it take Threadbanger so long to notice you? lol

  • Oh, I have watched this before, good job.

  • She wasn't doing the hair the correct way AT ALL, the bobby pins should never be showing. There's way easier ways to do this. Obviously an amateur.

  • @rockintherae I am still an amateur. But, I've got a lot better :) See my recent videos. Thanks for watching.

  • @ilovegerardo I think you did an amazing job!

  • @ilovegerardo Thank you so much! My nephew (new born, only 2 months) really liked the music too :D it got him to stop crying ^^ thanks SO much <3

  • @rockintherae How nice.

  • @rockintherae Pleeeease show us how it is done then ;) I'm sure you would LOVE to add a video, afterall, you have NONE on youtube. Lets see this EXPERT hair styling! ;)

  • @rockintherae If she is wrong just do it by yourself..

  • This was the best YouTube hair tutorial ever! Loved the silent movie style and I tried this pretty simple and turned out great! Even after with the great pin curls! Thanks a million!!!! :)))

  • i used to love a guy named gerardo and i used to write "i love gerardo" everywhere me subcribo a tus videos

  • So helpful!! The tips were great. I have tried this so many times but the details make it easy! Thanks.

  • this is the cutest tutorial ever. very thoughtful

  • Oh, daaaling! You look like you belong in that era! I'm going to a bachelorette party that is themed for a 20's Speak-easy. Got my dress (not really 20's but it works), got my fingerless gloves... My hairclip is quite a bit bigger than yours though, I think it might look silly in the front... It's a red flower with black feathers coming out... Probably about 4" total diameter... Would it look okay, if I pinned it near the back of this hairstyle?

  • Thank you. I'm going to do this on a client today. She has a 1920's party.

  • can we do have a pin up n hair down ?? omg it looks soo Pretty and u made look soo easy thanks =)

  • Amazing. Thanks! I am doing this tonight....looks excellent

  • I know this is from a few years back, but I wanted to say thank you for the tutorial! I went to a 1920s murder mystery party and used your video to do my hair. I have long hair and the pin curls worked great. Only thing I did different was keep the back part in the pony tail, and didn't curl my hair before b/c of time. Thanks again!

  • Totally adorable and helpful...thanks!

  • Man. I wish you could come and do my hair for me for Halloween ha.

  • The music reminds me of my ballet classes (: I don't know if it was a nice memory or a torture hahaah xD

  • This is so cool thanks Iris!

  • I love your video! I stumbled uponit while watching Joan Crawford videos and by chance I did search for her hairstyle.Do you have any tips on how to create a 1920´s-30´s short hair for already short hair?My hair is croped, down to my nape,curly/wavy in texture and pretty good with stress i.e.crulers,rollers etc.Think Joan Crawford/Louise Brooks.Thank you.

  • Any tips for someone who has silky, straight hair, little longer than yours, that does not hold a curl easilly and likes to slip out of place unless held down with an army of bobby pins and a can of hairspray?

  • Love this! Actually love all your videos but especially this one! thanks for taking the time to do this!

  • This vid is too cool and super helpful for my halloween costume! Thank you!

  • I have to do this in about 10 or 11 minutes (in-between scenes in a play). Can it be done quickly?

  • @Xxperfect0tragedyxX It's going to depend on your hair texture, whether or not your hair is already curled for easy pin curling etc. I think if you mess with it now, you can practice 1-2 times before the play to make sure.

  • @Xxperfect0tragedyxX

    did you consider a wig?

  • I love this style. Thank you for the tutorial.

  • I can't wait to try this! I'm going to be a flapper for Halloween and was trying to think of how to do my long hair without cutting it or buying a wig! Thanks ^_^ Mine may be a bit messy tho, because I'll be a ZOMBIE flapper hahahaha!

  • wow thank you so much this was very helpful. and you have such beautiful hair! :)

  • Thanks a lot!!! you are great

  • thanks so much im being a flipper for halloween and i had no idea how they wore their hear but now i do cause of you!

  • ahh the music reminds me of my ballet classes loll

  • You're very talented! Thanks for this! :)

  • that was very clever.

  • 07:13 THE CAT RUNS BY :)

  • I LOVE UR HAIR!!!!! WHAT DO U USE??

  • I have not looked at anyones hair style tutorials for elegance and beauty. EVEN MY HAIR DRESSER! I am about 7 months pregnant and will be getting married on Oct/22. I am looking to have my hair styles kept in the old vintage way. So my hair dresser has no choice but to watch this. please continue to make more videos.

  • @kenyanese1 You're getting married while pregnant?

  • Love this!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dear Iris,

I love this tutorial. Followed your instructions for my 20's hairdo and it was a success! People thought it was a great idea at the Melbourne Gansters' Ball.

    THANKS!

    Rose

  • We are in the band Passing Time (samfrompassingtime is the band site) and we are doing a silent movie era show. Our singer has long hair and looking at possible flapper ideas. WONDERFUL POST

  • It's cute! You look a little like Snow White with this hair styling.

Also, I like the inter titles XD

  • Lovely job(:

  • What kind of hair clips did you use? The red ones. They look like they are great clips. Where did you get yours?

  • The whole video set up was such a cute and realistic idea. OMG! So cute. Kudos to you. LOL.

  • Loveiiit!!

  • Hi, this is the first time I saw a tutorial of yours. My sister wanted to know how to do this 20´s look. By the way, your dog scared me the first time it passed next to you. :D

  • how many bobby pins did you use? :o

  • I absolutely love this I have a 1920s party in two weeks and this is how im doing my hair thanks!!!!

  • Excellent video! Really nicely done. Wish I could do this style. My hair is super thick and bobby pins do nothing except fall out.

  • @JeanLouisBarrault You can, I have really thick hair, too, you just have to pin smaller sections at a time. You'll need plenty of bobby pins, but you can still get your hair like this.

  • her youtube name is "I love Gerardo" :O

  • your hair is so beautiful, thick and shiny! what products do you use? especially to make it shiny.

  • i love it. it takes a long time but very beautiful

  • i was going to name my 1st daughter iris. its such a beautiful name

  • Beautiful! but my grandma usually does it to me in a different way, just right she saw how they did it to her mum :) just with pins. The result is more or less the same! this hair fit really good with the typical flamenco dress from my hometown (i am from Sevilla, South Spain). women look stunning with the dress and that hair. Thanks for the video, and sorry for my speech :)

  • my hair is layered how do i do then?

  • Awe this is sooo pretty!(: My hair is really long, so I had to do tighter curls(:

    Thank you sososooo much(: <3

  • i love this tutorial all your vids are very helpful for me thanks for sharing your techniques !!

  • this is super cute and adorable. i have very long hair and this can work for me.

  • That was awesome!!! Thanks! Btw, you have really pretty hair.

  • At the end, you'd need such a 20's-style-little hat. You'd looked more beautifully! ;) .

  • Oh myy, you look totally like Nora Ney, famous polish pre-war movie star! <3

  • @HikoShinju she doesn't look like her... she's much prettier than Nora Ney.. justt sayiinnn

  • hi iris!! i really love vintage classic looks and especially even older looks... can you please do another 1920's -30's inspired look... vie worn this one to death!

  • I certainly enjoyed it! I've always wanted to do a faux bob but it's hard since I have very long hair (waist-length) and I am not so good at styling. You did it so nicely! And you hair is very beautiful. Congrats and thanks!

  • What did you use to get the silent film inter-titles? I'm making a silent film and I really like that style. By the way, you've got great talent when it comes to hair. :3

  • @Corpseyy Thank you. I did a search for "silent film title card template" images and posted text over them.

  • very nice effect!! you look so pretty!!

  • You did such a good job! Love it!

  • aaaannnndddd thats why that hair style is out of fashion takes too long

  • @sarahata22 This is not how they styled it before. It's an alternative to cutting your hair. It takes about 30-40 minutes to create and when you are done, you have your hair long in less than 5 minutes :) Better than cutting your hair off to recreate it in 10 minutes and having to wait 1 or more yrs for your hair to grow back...

  • Thanks for this, I know it must take so much patience!! I love my long hair, but I've always wanted to try out a "faux bob" like this one. Particularly a flapper-style curly one. So thanks for the inspiration :)

  • @69orex - I think the piano music is by Erik Satie.

  • very pretty and elegant

  • Very cleaver way to work that out. It's gorgeous.

  • What's the piano son of the video? and the program to make this how 20's age? please! thanks!

  • Wow! thanks so much^^! Can you also do that wif straight hair too^^'?

  • EEEEKKKKK! What do I do if my hair is already curly?!?!? I love this hair style, and I really wanna do it, but what do I do if my hair is already painfully curly?

  • i love this look.

  • You're hair is so shinny it's almost offensive! Sure you're not wearing some kind of super high tech wig?

  • Very goooood!

I wish I had this motor coordination!

    Thank You!

  • how well does this look survive a vigorous dance and/or a 5K run? I am supposed to be running a 5K an hour before my university ball and maybe doing my hair before-hand would cut some corners...

  • I have a question I have naturally curly hair, and its pretty thick and long the girls aren't very tight but they are tight enough. Would I have to straighten it an curl it? Cause I prefer not to straighten my hair since it take like literally six hours to do that. Would the hair style still work and look right if it left my hair with my natural curls?

  • 7:37 "NEVER LET GO !"

I suddenly felt like I was on the Titanic with Jack !
