  • Exist many wing chun... Yip man system is NOT the "original", is a modificated version of the original lineage. He is famous because his disciple Bruce Lee.

  • Most coherent and knowledgeable comment yet. A breath of fresh air. Thanks.

Sigung teaches this form as a more internal version of Sil Lum Tao with a heavier emphasisi on Bil Gee (Thrusting Fingers). Before you assume that this is the form of a pretender. Understand that he is the Former World Heavyweight Kuo Shu Kickboxing Champion. A real fighter.

  • And who was the first one to begin teaching Wing Chun publicly? Where at all does it come from? Can you tell me?

  • Wing chun comes from the red boats of the cantonese opera and Grandmaster Yip Man was one of the most important teachers but not the ONLY one. He modified all the system because the many people needed to learn quickly, leaving many traditional aspects of this martial art. Yes was the first "public" teacher... You can check all the wing chun lineages in google. Apologize myself for my English, Bye

  • Wing chun comes from the "red boats" of cantonese opera. Yip man teached a modified system in Hong Kong, very different from what he learned (from Chan Wah Sun & Leung Bik) in Foshan, Guangzhou. Is a basic version of the cantonese wing chun. Yes he was the "first" public teacher. It doesn't mean "original". I Apologize for my english. At wingchunarchive site you can verify. Bye

  • Darkmaster79, was there any public teacher of Ving (Wing) Tsun (Chun) before Yip Man? If his Wing Chun not 'original' than whose is?

  • well actually Yip man knew both the original and modified version of Wing chun.yip man was famous because he was undefeated way b4 Bruce, that why bruce went to yip man.Leung ting, william chueng are from yip man system.Yip man learned from the Wing chun the real woman son he beat Yip man When yip man was champion in Wc.They're is a movie called Ip man it's on utube look at it its a true story and youll c y bruce was that good.yip man made WC for what it is today bruce use alot of wC in his fights

  • Everyone has different WC due to lineage and family sect history. No one person can say their WC is truly the original beginning WC. If one looks different, it may look sloppy to you because of personal bias of your WC being superior.

  • There are just many sects of Wing Chun. If your WC is differently done than others, of course you may leave with a bias saying that others do "horrible" with their WC.

  • that form goes against almost all ving(wing) tsun(chun) principles its kinda ashame sorry

  • What on Earth is this?

  • this must be an ancient lineage recording since its in black and white ;)

  • st: "what can we learn from the mistakes of these kinds of watered down styles that people think are so real?"

Sifu: " that which you have already observed!"

  • st: "why Sifu are there so many guys posting such bad wing chun forms online?"

  • st:"why Sifu are there so many guys posting such sloppy wing chun forms online? "

Sifu: " as i told you before they haven't the Sifu that knows how to teach them correctly."

  • Original Wing Chun - Yip Man & Yip Chun 2 i recommend you watch this vid this looks like a mixture of all the other forms Sil Lum Tao means little idea not long winded

  • Cool, but it would have been more classy without the music.

  • If my master wants music, you should say no? You should think about it more.

  • Wow thats a very very different wing chun silm lim tao than mine lineage, my sifu's sifu is Grandmaster Chu shong tin, yip mans third diciple. This version is very interesting but looks too complicated, wing chun is about simplicity, this looks to have been made more difficult but every style of wing chun has its advantages i suppose! Take care

  • very fluid!

  • this is definitely different from grandmaster Yip Man's

I wonder, is it some sort of modified version?

  • Sifu Gray use to have us do this form very slowly. Like 10 min to do the form. Miss ya Sifu!

    Respectfully

    Larry Dufresne

  • As far as I know, sifu is around. Is he not?

  • what the hell is this form?!? It's a bit like Chum Kiu, a bit like Biu Tze, and a bit like SLT. Somebody fkin' made it up. Oh God, poor Grand Master Ip Man!!!

  • this is so much harder than it looks.i remember doing wing tsun many years ago and you really have to concentrate to try and get it right. This guy looks very impressive.

  • That was interesting, I have never seen that variation of this form before. Nice post!

  • There are many forms of Wing Chun. This is not Ip man's lineage.

  • i agree!!!

  • Sijo,I am so glad the world can see a true master at work

  • This is Fut san Wing Chun

  • I don't recognize this as siu lim tau. It looks a bit like it, but much is different.

Looks like it's been changed and changed away from it's original perfection.

  • this is not original wing chun! and not how the first form should be preformed

chek out yip man and how it should be done.

  • It should only be done how it is done best and this is very close to that, i suspect this is that

  • Very very different from great grandmaster Yip Mand and grandmaster Tsui Seung Tin's.

  • This Sil Nim Tao is almost the same as Viet Nam Wing Chun Kuen

  • What's the name of the song and band?

  • this is not sil lum tao, not sure what the heck it is... can you tell us?

  • You're right, it's not the first form: Siu Nim Tau (Little Idea). It is the third form: Biu Tze (Thrusting Fingers). The second form is Chum Kiu (Arm Seeking).

  • Sifu Gray was my first teacher on and off from the time I was 5 until till I was in college. He is much more impressive in person. Amazingly powerful crazy quick, and can land things that seem at an impossible range. the video is great but can't do him justis. I am glad to see you well Sifu

  • sorry guyzz can i ask somethink??? this is 1rst form>>>>??? then maybe you sould see the ip man doing the 1rst form and then see this video again, you will realise that this is changed form

  • yeeeeeeeeeh!!! Grandpa Rocks!! LOL. longlive led zeppelin and grandpa. hehehehhe..thanks for showing this authentic vid.

  • Is this form an original version?

  • It's Biu Tze

  • What it this?

  • Biu Tze

  • boh...

  • very nice.

  • Looks alot like Thrusting Fingers, there are so many variations its incredible :)

  • very different from Yip Man

  • More extensive than the Sil Lum Tao I know. I'm going to give it a try...

  • this is absolutely super, what amazing moves!! i don't practice any of this but it has a profound effect on me every time i watch it! and the music's cool, too, who are the band?

  • Not too familiar with the Ng lineage. However it seems that there are elements from Biu Gee that were incorporated in this form (darting fingers). Interesting application

  • Yes, our version of Sil Lum Tao makes extensive use of Biu Jee as well as numerous Chi Kung and internal principles.

  • I would like to see a video of the Ng lineage Chum Kiu or Biu Tze. Very interesting stuff.

  • Sijo Gray is a true master, that is Ng lineage.

  • sul lum tao means the little idea if there are too many flash movements it is harder to build a focous..by slowing dwon the movement you would have thought about it so much that when it comes time to use you will be able to do it correctly with out thinking as a reaction..think of the idea of the movement

  • Not sure the origins but it seems like there's a mix of Pan Nam SLT and some Yip Man lineage SLT. Definitely a unique blend and he's spent some time practicing.

  • Vely Intellesting, indeed!
