Mayzies voice is supposed to be rough. She does an amazing job singing in Mayzies character. Not every voice in a musical is going to be pure and perfect. That would completly defeat the purpose of any different characters.

15 years old really isn't as young as it seems. This is a pretty low part; it's not a difficult to belt. The acting and the execution was what made this performance so good, not the vocals.

Thank you! The way she sung the piece was twisted up and tweaked a bit to show off her talent more, and yes the last note was taken up an octave. If u noticed, she did a combo of belting, opera, and character. Each person had a different voice so I wouldnt try to sing it the way she did but i mean you can still tweak it for you audition. IF you do, im sure you will stand out more and prolly get get the part. Just make it your own like the mayzie in the video

That's not screaming, it's called belt. A technique which is used all around Broadway. It's completely safe for the voice. As well as singing belt she sings classical as well.
