the bottom one is probably a "parasitic twin" and depends on the bigger twin's feeding to keep it alive through some kind of shared digestive system. It most likely doesn't even have functional digestive organs of its own, which is probably why the body looks so shriveled up.

it may not be his choice. the top part gets the food first and probably controls 90% of the body which results in the top arowana getting the food first and the bottom arowana needing to be a parasite and absorb the top arowana's food.
