The best band I ever saw... The Appollo Manchester........Lux drinking wine and climbing up the speakers to the lighting rig.....oh yeah love you babe
saw them in liecester uk 82 was amazing plenty of bloody noses that night nottingham one side liescester the other then the slamming started "she said" !!!!!
Now I don't have any reason to go to SF anymore. All those shows @ the Fillmore! Anyone go to the Cramps & Deadbolt show at the Fillmore? That was maybe my fav Fillmore Cramps Show.
better that than never. I saw them on the same tour but I think they were feeling "under the weather". They seemed like they had a hell of a time at the night befgore haha
I saw them in 2003 and seeing Lux crawl around the stage for 18minutes or so with a microphone stuck in his mouth screaming and howling was priceless...check out the Napa State Mental Institute show they put on...incredible.
JM, I agree, they were together for 37 years, I saw them in London in the early 80s a few times and it was fierce and so funny. Never seen such a diverse collection of smiles. Great.
Me too! We might have been at the same gigs. I saw them twice back then, both times at Hammersmith Pallais. The first time they were all in black and Lux did the full striptease at the end. Second time they were touring Smell of Female, had a female guitarist and were in burlesque gear, basques, boas etc. I feel so bloody lucky to have been at these gigs.
I agree it seemed to be all happening, I thought I saw them at the Electric Ballroom, but I checked and they never played there. I did not see them at Hammersmith Odeon because I had been there and thought its the wrong venue, no jumping about etc. I saw the Gun Club, Birthday Party all around that time. I like to think we were in the toilet together and smiling at each other desperate to get back out in the mass. No idiot pun intended. Missed The Clash though.
Think I remember foregoing a Cramps Odeon gig for similar reasons. You saw the Birthday Party? I'm green. I did see The Clash, at Brixton Academy, after Mick Jones left. Good, but I'd swap for the Birthday Party any lifetime. Happy to say I saw The Gun Club, my faves, once at the Lyceum, once at Dingwalls. Yeah, I'll bet we grinned at each other in the toilets or helped each other up in the mosh pit. The atmosphere at those gigs was always so exuberant and friendly.
ive always loved this song. it was the 1st song of the cramps that my dad introduced me to. i used to make him play it over & over so we both could sing it together...
"Why's don't I tell you what it is?
I wen' out last nigh' and I got messed up
When I woke up this mornin'
Shoulda seen what I had inna bed wi' me
She comes up at me outta the bed
Pull her hair down the eye
Looks to me like a dyin' can of that commodity meat.."
The Cramps had 2 very lovely lady's that played guitar always loved them watching and encouraging us to slam dance while they played.. Kinda sexy feeling i got from that....
God, there has got to be another video of The Cramps doing She Said, SOMEWHERE ON THIS GODDAMN-FORSAKEN WORLD WIDE WEB!!! Baby, it feels soooo GOOD . . . .!!
You know, while I really dig your username, you better not be badmouthing the Haze, boy.
That being said, I love this version as well because that's the very song that introduced me to Hasil Adkins in the first place. And the Cramps reign supreme, anyway.
I took my daughter to this show. It was the first time that I every sat upstairs instead of standing all night to be in front of Ivy!!!! Too bad there is no show this year :(
